Mika: It's wierd to think that a year and a half ago I studied Schubert, Brahms and Mozart at the Royal College. And now I am singing about big girls, lollipops and Grace Kelly. (laughs) Reporter: Grace Kelly is a revenge song directed to his first record company. They denounced him, saying his music is unmarketable. Full of anger he wrote this 3 minutes operetta. Mika: (explaining the process of creation of the song Grace Kelly) Reporter: The song became the number one, all over the world. Mika: It's all about building things in a really simple way, like some kind of magic lego. Song writing is like that. Like, you want to make a big and deep statement -great! But if you want to reach the people you have to use the simplest ingredients, only that way will make people listen. Reporter: Mika was born in Beirut, in the middle of the civil war. The family fled to Paris, later to London. With 12 he was barely capable to read and write. But he already sang Richard Strauss in the choir of the Royal Opera House. He began his pop career with comercial songs. Mika: I always start with some beep sounds.... And then there is also the rhythm. Reporter: Maybe that is his secret. Out of small pieces of melody which can also occasionally occur to us in the shower he makes whole songs..... And he steals everywhere he can, from the Beatles, Elton John, the Scissor Sisters. Very cheeky, and very successful. In England Mika is already more famous than Robie Williams.
