Over than beaches, Costa Blanca is hidding several history of spain and unfortunately, a lot of them are not well maintained... In this video, we would like to wake up with you to see the sunrise of a place full of magic - Iberian and Roman sanctuary of La Malladeta.
In Year 100 BC, a French-Spanish excavation project (René Maison Ginouvès-City of Villajoyosa-Alicante University) was set to uncover rooms although much more of the site remains to be excavated. Today, it is a beautiful spot to observe the sunrise surrounded by beaches and nature.

The South Coast route links the ancient Iberian and Roman city of Allon with the Malladeta sanctuary, occupied between approximately 350 BC and 75-80 AD, already in the midst of the Roman Empire. Halfway along it there is a singular landmark, a section of the Roman road that connected Allon with the region of Alicante, and which at the same time ran along the Via Sacra as it passed by the sanctuary. After its excavation, this section has been recovered and mounted in its original position, outside a new block of flats, in 2020. Both the roadway and the sanctuary are accessible and have accessible panels.
