Covert Instruments DoctorHogmaster pick set from the chop shop!
มุมมอง 203หลายเดือนก่อน
covertinstruments.com/products/doctorhogmaster-lock-pick-set I have been honored to curate a pick set from Covert Instruments! I chose a set of tools I'm most likely to reach for when I sit down to a picking session. Also, since I don't make any kind of commission on the sales, I had no motivation to add anything extra ;-)

Back when I used to be into nefarious things... I would b&e into places and would repick the lock to relock the door. Did it for years when i was homeless to sleep in hunting cabins and park bathrooms. It was hilarious because people would think a ghost was in thier or something and never considered someone knew how to pick locks... Even the police
Unbelievable picking even with foreknowledge of how everything works
i feel he should have sent you two? easier to open smashing them together right? xD
Uggg. I have one at home and I need to get it picked! Great job. I'll be rewatching this video over and over until I get it. The whole "self counter rotation" is at least what I was thinking I had to do and it seems like that was how you were handling it.
Yup, just for those pin stacks where the driver sits below the shear line. Once you find out where those are, you need to try to pre-set them before they feel ready. Other than that some fairly high tension and careful testing of the pin state, and it’s not too bad.
If a lock can be undone with a key it can be undone by a pick. The main safety failing of every lock is the need to be able to open it.
Well damn, I should have sent the #19 to another Master to pick to begin with! That was a very good job!
It’s tricky for a master lock, that’s for sure! And if I didn’t know about the tricky bit where the driver can sit below shear for some bittings, I probably would have mangled the spring. Sneaky master locks… 😜🍻
You sound like a younger Jensen Ackles Not a bad thing it just makes me feel like I'm tripping
Why is this a video? Can't you 'pick' this with a flathead or wire?
LOL no. Master #19 is one of the hard locks to pick. It was the one time Master Lock got it right and then stopped making it!
Well done 😀🐈⬛🐾👏🍻
Thanks, as always 🍻
Nice
Thanks! 🐷
Should lock picking be a sport?
Well what are your recommendations on improving the lock?
Why you outta breath bro?
Because I have asthma and sometimes it acts up more than others, and I don’t always notice how bad it is right away.
@@DoctorHogmaster gotcha. I initially thought you were that upset about the audio failing. I was gonna tell you it's alright.
@@LittondeJarnette haha, nah, I finished crying about that several minutes beforehand 😉
why does every lock have to be picked? like wtf...
Love it!!! 💚
That's tough work! Great job as always!
Lockpicking 100
He is holding it slanted because of the little balls?
It’s a lot more upright than it looks from the camera angle. It’s as upright as I could get it while still showing the face of the lock.
It's awesome he spent all that time and all that engineering all to lose in less then 5 minutes great pick
Thank you! It’s a very inventive design, but in the end it still relies on similar mechanical interference to other locks, which can be felt for when picking. If you don’t know how it works, though, it just feels like mush in there when you start out.
What could be the result if they blindly jump into pickinh without any description
5 minutes resisting an expert picker who knows how the lock works is really solid resistance.
You shaky hand because of stress? Or because just have shaky hands?
I was probably just gripping too tightly.
I’m pretty much a master at lock picking from watching TH-cam videos. As far as I can tell all you really need is another lock to smack into it.
Lol
"this is an [unpickable works by design lock], it can be opened with another [unpickable works by design lock]"
Works by Design brought me here. Exciting to see what happens.
I just ordered the Genesis set, and now I have a few ideas for some additions. Thank you.
The genesis set is a great start! When you get into more narrow or paracentric keyways (the American 1100 series padlock is a great example) those thinner picks can really help.
Nice set. Your in "Hog Heaven" now. I'll have to see about getting me a set.
I pieced this together from other sets I have, but I think i might “have to” order my own DoctorHogmaster set just to be able to say I did 🤣
Very nice choices
Thank you!
Neat to see your take and go to picks Doc. 😄
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just what the Doctor ordered hmmm?! I’ll see myself out.
Everything I order is just what the doctor ordered. 🤪
Dr. Doctor with the goods!!!
😂
Nice
Thanks, man!

Lol the unpickable lock failed to make it to the final boss
Oh boy. That's one case where Aftermarket is just not a good choice. 😁
I think the OEM ones work the same way, but I don't have one to test. 😮
That's sweet!!! 😁💚🔒
Cool!!! 😮👏👏🐈⬛🐾👍
I wonder if it’s the design of the standard lock or the fact it’s a replacement lock? Either way pretty neat you figured that out
From what I've heard (but not seen) the OEM locks work the same. But, I don't have one to test.
Congratulations lockpickinglawyer now we have a crime wave in Australia. Teenagers are picking locks whilst people are sleeping and stealing their car keys and cars. When the stolen cars run out of petrol they set them on fire. We are seeing burnt out cars every week now on the beaches and other locations.
Do you think this would be pickable if the schematics were not made available to you?
Maybe… but it would have taken more guesswork. I would have known it had to be pushed in first, and then rotated, because that’s how you have to operate it with the key. If I didn’t know how it operates at all, I don’t think I would have gotten it.
In production everyone can buy and check it out so defeats the purpose imo.
Does having it on its side affect pickability?
He mentioned that it has to be upright, and it would make a difference for sure. If mine looks like it’s on its side, it’s just because of the angle of my camera setup. It’s as upright as I could get it while still seeing the face.
What about using a neodymium magnet to get the steel balls out of the way then start picking?
it won't work cause the pins gonna get more locked on the side the bearings are being magnetized.
Great picking Doc
Thanks, as always!
Gerda locks are Polish
Awesome pickin!!!🔒🔐🔒
Thanks!
Awesome picking!!! 😮😃👍🐾🐈⬛👏👏👏
Thank you, Chris!
Really nice lock and of course, masterful picking on your part. I've decided I like barrels better than gins. 😏
Thank you! I’m honestly not sure which one I “Like” better… haha
Nice picking Doc, I agree C55 felt like a better quality lock than the CP6
Nice one
Nicely done Doc! Is this one ranked or are you ranking it?
"Click on 44" 😂 Too mamy pins to remember 😂
And this isn’t even one of the worst! 😅
Nice picking Doc, should be 15 pins in that stock.
Perhaps I have some zero lifts in there… I only see 13 cuts on the key, but non-cuts should be max lift, and I definitely didn’t have any max lifts on the top stack. But it’s also stock as far as I know. 🤷♂️ locks are full of mystery.
