Biggest mistake was buying this laptop as a CS student. Only buy this laptop if you would only be using it on in an office and place it on the office table, don’t even move it. Quality is shit.

I think, this fixed hinges will broken again after a couple usages. If vulnerable to screen vibration the plastic attached to hinges will fall apart

Same happened to mine, what a waste, i just removed the screen and hinges and used computer monitor via hdmi. Laptop into PC 😂. Never again..

Doesn’t work? no commands are working? going straight to log in screen no matter what? Do this. Turn off Mac. Turn on and hold power button. System Menu pops up select Settings. Go to Utility Disk. Erase Systems Disk/Systems Folder (the first one not the sub folders) Do not rename keep name and format AFTP whatever. Something will pop up want to erase Mac completely all will be lost. Click yes. Restart Mac? Yes. Upon restart choose reinstall Ventura, follow instructions blah blah blah

I took apart my screen i didn't notice the string. Destroyed the basicscreen i took out. Wish i had seen this before i did it. Thankfully the hd screen is a lot more flexible so got it done second time around.

I keep getting told that the entire laptop has to be taken apart to reattach the hinge to the lid. I understand needing to replace the back panel of the lid because the attachment point is gone, but the hinge is still in good working order. I assume this is just want of a more expensive repair.
