Hey mate! Essence of Evil got "buff" around last december. They changed the order how it deals the negative status effects. The current order it does the negative spell effects is first Curse, then Stun, and then rest of the status effects. So in short, current EoE will shut down any troop regardless if they have any positive status effects (Bless etc). Only troops that are safe from EoE are Invulnerable troops.
