I'm fairly sure this plane is in storage at North East Land Sea and Air Museum in Sunderland
Bravo Maestro
Most definitely
Hahaha hes just pass or hes taking the piss haha
Nice video
I have about about 3000 hours in the 330, flying for Henson Airlines in the USA in the early 1980's. we liked it because it had a flight attendant on board. that's the only reason we liked it. we had some very creative nasty nicknames for it. on second thought, it was powered by the fabulous Pratt & Whitney of Canada PT6 series of turboprops. the aircraft was under powered, but the PT6 engines were outstanding.
Ama fast learner, ready to sign up.

Is this firm still going?
I’ll never get how to know when to stop the reverse… when is it as far back as it can go? The steering by the ball of your palm would be a test fail btw.
When you hit the buffers,gently.
Wow iv only been on the forks 2 days and im slow but fuck me i aint snail slow like his fuck
Funny fealing. I am driving now concrete mixers. A bit missing artic. But on this video when I looked in your mirrors I know after 2 years still I could buck up the trailer. I hope it will stay in my head for long...
I would be looking out of the window. It's a habit you pick up when driving vans!
That looks like Curry’s/PC World Cannock? Been there many times annoying how they don’t let you sit in your cab, I needed to hand my keys in before they started unloading/Loading me. I know it’s a safety thing but your sitting in the drivers room for ages
I am sure it was an RDC at Scunthorpe.
@@squrger I know this is an old video but it's absolutely helpful. New driver here .Oddly enough I tipped at this RDC(Nisa/DHL). not long ago and it took 3 hours because I was an hour late so they put me on "naughty " bay.
01:57.. did I open the doors? 🤣
Not one peek out the window, very nice reverse. Hope to be that good eventually
+
whats the refrence point
how do u know when its clear to turn into a bay
great reverse, you never stuck your head out window once.all done with mirrors
Good driver
Can you add more videos like this one showing both side mirrors in the same position as this one ?
Unfortunately, not. Retired from driving now.
Can’t wait to try this and see how good or bad I am at it
Artic reversing is a piss case....wagon and drag reversing is a real skill....best still reversing with 03 trailors, now thats what you call real truck driving.
Michael Macluskie Reversing an old style drawbar is harder , most modern equipment is easier with different couplings and of course no power steering and heavier clutches gearboxes etc which is why most had front hitches as well .
All our wagon and drags have hitches front and rear....and not difficult at all to reverse once your practicing is complete...."A" Frame or straight bar is the same....If you are really dedicated to your job as a Trucker then nothing is an obstacle ( The difficult we will do at once...the impossible takes a little longer )....but I have noticed now a days that all drivers come from a class room with piles of literature and no interest or Gumption..its just a job for todays new drivers..also the trucks today are so easy to drive thats why you see non skilled truckers behind the wheel.
The main Sheffield to Manchester road.
When to stop. Look closely at around 1,51 onwards and you will see the truck do a small rebound. This is when the trailer comes into contact with the rubber bump stops on the warehouse door. This is perfectly normal procedure. Also a lot of trailers have a sprung bar going the width of the trailer at the rear to prevent damage to the trailer when being loaded or unloaded with a forklift truck. Warehouse forklift drivers just go in till the truck hits the trailer then thats far enough.
Good view of hand movement i.e. 1 lock left -1 right and so on.
How much did you want to grab one of the guns or jump into the gun wells? Someone should of told the kid with the phone, if you're doing a video to hold the phone the other way. That looked amazing.
Gordon S which kid 😂
Thanks for the video, it's very helpful. I like to know that which mirror do you use most on this bay reversing. Big or small mirror? Also you never attempt to look out from window!! Thanks.
I do not look out of the window either. My instructor told me if i had to hang out of the window i wasnt doing it right. That was nearly thirty years ago!
Nice :)
no words just helpful mastership of reversing. Thank you.
I'm such a confident driver, but this reversing is really dented my confidence. I passed my class 1 in December, but failed a driving assessment last week 😩 I'm just completely lost when it comes to this reversing ! Any help please ????
Maybe truck driving is not the job for you then. Reversing is quite a big part of it.
marcel-nine-one-one - Very true about reversing but to suggest he gives up is rather defeatist.
marcel-nine-one-one, you're an idiot, it takes a lot of practice to become as good as the guy in the video. To suggest someone change careers just because they haven't got the knack for reversing is moronic and unhelpful. I suggest you upload a video of your silky driving skills and show us all 'how it's done'.
Pointless. There are plenty of videos of good reversing on YT. I don't drive a HGV. I do get stuck behind them all the time though when they are reversing so I know what a pain it is when the driver is useless and holding up traffic in both directions, hence my original statement.
marcel-nine-one-one, so you don't actually know what you're talking about? You're just having a good old bitch about the odd occasion when you're day is held up for two minutes by a reversing HGV? What a precious snowflake you are. Get behind the wheel of an artic and try reversing around a corner, then we might take your comments seriously.
Good job!
the most difficult aspect: how do you when you're close enough to the door? without hitting it
reflexreaction - The black rectangle surrounding the dock entrance is a bit like a cushion which helps to absorb when the trailer pushes into position.
Very very jealous. We've only one flying b-17 here in Britain called the Sally b and although she's gorgeous you can't get near her. This is an experience I'd chop my right arm off for.
chris kelly cheers Chris. I am from the Uk and the Airshow coincided with a holiday. Definitely will do it again, worth every penny.
Great camera set up. Helps us learners see what your actually doing!
After 4 years I guess now you are reversing pro.
@@johnman8554 ha yes I get by now
I'm learning class 1 at the moment and people making these videos is really useful so we can see positions and what the wheel is doing. thanks. would appreciate any advice from a professional about reversing.
take it SLOW easier 2 correct any mistakes
Thank you for this video. I had my first job today collecting 12 tons of biscuits for export at Mcvities. I did my best to copy you and it when well!! Got the correct angle then got in front of it asap. Given me confidence for tomorrow.... Happy Days👍
Was that at ASDA Normanton nr Leeds?
+John Brackenbury No, if I remember it was Nisa at Scunthorpe.
Should try it without power steering
+John Brackenbury Did do it without power steering in my dads AEC when I was 15, but didnt have a gopro then.
@@squrger I'm sure Doddsy will rip it off whatever they use as a shunter nowadays.
Great reversing. I hope to be that calm, smooth and accurate soon.
good very good reversing
The traffic never goes that fast when I'm driving that route. It hardly seems fair.
good right reverse vid with the cam showing steering wheel positions good job.
minds me of my time as a shunter
Smoke, smoke and yet more smoke. Looks like this trip was a real laugh. A little bit of history, thanks for sharing Chris.
+Trucking In The UK I put this back up (as it was removed for copyright music!) in memory of Neil, who features on this video who recently passed away.
No it's just for pleasure. It's my friends aircraft.
Hey Chris, you doing your PPL? I'm doing this the other way round... I got up to my CPL, ran out of money, so turned to trucking a couple of years ago! Best of luck with it if you are pal =)
