And other unknown places you will never hear of and I can’t believe that it’s worsened since . What picked me up when down or a friend or colleague had died was listening to Julian…. He helped me through rough times,rough enough to almost pray to the “”god “ of Christianity,almost. Met him first time in Avebury in 96 and still got and wear regular the Propheteering T shirt from 1995, him and his family. I never mentioned I was army as I didn’t want to be an ex Cope fan. But I can tell him. -If I’m gonna die before my time, I wanna know what’s in it for me? song. I can’t explain what and why is there anything in it for me. You’d know if your ex army. I found a US vinyl of Kilimanjaro by accident and discovered the track differences that way - I have so many copies of that album. I actually love Wilder though.

I done my basic training 4miles from Tamworth. I was 21 when I joined so I was oldest of 43 of us,,plus I’d lived ,had ,flats,beds it’s. So I was used to pubs ,travel etc.. I asked a barmaid was anyone into Julian? She said,as if shocked”WOW,,all the years I’ve worked,lived here,not one trainee soldier has ever mentioned Julian Cope “!. She told all the pubs in the st by phone 3 lads coming in,into Cope. My 2 mates were only 17 and not used to pubs or street wise. I’m from Birkenhead,they ,Wallasey. One was getting dagger looks at my mate,,but the landlords told them,,no trouble. I didn’t want any but I would be up for it if I really had to,,I don’t understand the mentality of such people,so inadvertently Julian had diverted “fate”as we would have fought,, and all the idiots in the “”OUT OF BOUNDS”” which was well stated at our gate-Manhattan’s-Banned-.. Just mostly 17-19 mostly idiot young soldiers buying the local bikes a vodka etc. if arrested,Police deal with you then you get it worse off the army. Glad I was used to pubs and that age though I found it hard that after dinner at 5.30-6pm we couldn’t have a cuppa tea. Aargh. Bought a kettle etc when came home after 5 weeks. Julian, I never told on first meeting incase he thought I was a war monger but I joined to provide for my family. Mad days. 1990.. where did time go??

Hey Tony,,you’re about as crazy for this musician The Cope as myself. I took a cracking photo with a 35mm camera with Julian on bass posing for me quick like during Dark Orgasm tour as he only played the bass with his cunt belt on. I won’t put it online as it will undermine my own credibility as I have never been “”look what I’ve got “type. Plus it will be shared to death amongst us Drudes,, copied one to give my best friend on condition that he doesn’t put it online either. No one will ever see my signed photo or my older one with him wearing his night shirt. I’m not as much into tech stuff like iPhone etc, I only have this cause my sister gave me.Too dear for what I use it for. Ho hum❤

I am against all this “new” technology,I.e. iPhone,the internet etc albeit it’s the future but for us like myself who are somewhat traditional in buying music,tickets for concerts etc. I’ve followed Julian since age 8-9 years old but had no choice as I was the 5 n half years younger brother who had no choice what he listened to but even then in 1978 I was listening to good music as it turned out so when to high school I was well ahead on the music scene. That’s why I liked going over the Mersey and get tickets and com home and wait for the date and now it’s all “”you have to go online to find if gigs are on,so I have missed 2 because of this and I admit I listen to Robin Hood by Cope on wi fi but ordered Friar Tuck cd out now. Does anyone agree that it was better for fans of old to get tickets and cds and not mp3 downloads?
