Was a batboy for the San Diego Padres back in 1971 to 1973. I remember sitting on bench next to Dave and we chatted. He said "Bucky" (my nick name then) I am going to do something big, I feel it Bucky" Referring to the fact he felt soon his career would explode -- he was right (ofcourse after he left the losing Padres). I think it was the late 80s when Ryan (Rangers) threw again at Winfield (Angels). That occasion, Winfield did not hesitate to charge the mound. Ryan, to his word, did not hesitate to wrestle him a bit. I don't think much happened but Winfield made the point that he can still tangle. Ryan, never a slouch, would have agreed with that all the same!
