Derech Achim (The Way of Brothers) is a Jewish folk band based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Made up of two brother-in-laws, Derech Achim began with a vision to inspire people around the world to relate to music as a means of genuine spiritual connection. Using a diverse palette of musical genres, the sincere goal is to compose music that first moves your soul before it moves your body.

This niggun was composed in memory of the holy Piaseczna Rebbe (Rav Kalonymus Kalman Shapira). He was named after his great grandfather, the Maor Vashemesh (Rav Kalonymus Kalman Epstein) who was the Rebbe of Krakow (and hence a hint to the Krakow niggun). The Piaseczna Rebbe inspired thousands of people during the darkest times of the holocaust. He brought hope and light to everyone around him ...
