I flew to Australia to run away from my problems
Got news that I got accepted for my semester in Japan and found this video while looking for other peoples experiences. I have to say this has been in my opinion the most "real" video I've came across and really helped open my views on all this exchange thingy. Thanks to you I really have a new mindset coming into this and I hope It will show before, during and after my semester.
This was awesome!
this video is so well made!!!! i loved watching it and im so happy you have this positive mindset :)
Came here to hype myself up before my semester abroad and left impressed by your journey and adaptability. I feel more ready now, thank you
I know this was stuff that happened a year ago, but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in this, this is just life in general. I've experienced your chapter 2 in high school, work, and uni (still studying). I had a decision, I can either let it break and bring me down, or I can learn to take the good and enjoy life independent of other peoples' decisions. I've went out a few times where I saw people who I thought were my friends grilling or going out and non of them invited me. On the other hand, I have an amazing girlfriend and friends who really appreciate me even though we live very far away. I've learned to just enjoy my time and if these people stay and we form a bond, great. If not, I enjoyed my time and can't say I had a boring life. It does suck, hurt, and get to me sometimes, but I always try to remember to be the reason I am happy rather than relying on others for it. Hope this helps out in one way or another
this was a beautiful video, your storytelling was so good! i grew up in japan and have been dying to go back, how exactly did you study aboard? like what programs do i need to look at for college or what schools? i’m doing some research now to help. thanks for the video and i hope to see more :)
Did you have a job while in Japan or were you being funded by your family (or just had a lot of saved up money)? I want to study in Japan, but one of the biggest things holding me back is the worry that o might not be able to find a job, especially because I barely know Japanese. I’m slowly learning it, but my knowledge is so rudimentary that I’m barely at newborn level
very good video.. had to like and sub well done
Sameee
this is such a beautiful video! i really like the way you told a story throughout it
hery ella learn how to surf!
I studied abroad in Japan in fall 2023 too and really relate to your experience in some ways. My first semester was amazing and then everything suddenly got really bad once my winter break started. But at the end of the day, everything eventually got better and I still think going abroad to Japan was one of the best decisions I ever made. it's really cool to hear about other people's experiences studying abroad in Japan so thank you for sharing!
GREAT VIDEO THIS IS SO UNDERRATED. Hopefully I might exchange for 2026!!
Sorry for your bad experience but an amazing way to come back to enjoy your stuyding abroad experience :D. I also want to go to Japan to study abroad and i was hoping that you could tell me how did you achive it, it was with something like Erasmus? Thank you advance :)
I hope you come back soon and maybe live here for a while and see more of Australia. The outback is stunning and there’s so much more of the country to see.
Australia has problems too. But Australia is blessed.
Me too. Well I crawled here when I was about 2 years old (cos I'm a fucking go getter) and I haven't looked back since. Ok so I don't remember it, but I still haven't looked back. 😂 Oooft I've spent 2 years waaaaay out in the bush living out of my car because my whole life crashed and burned when I thought I had eeeeeverything I wanted in life and then I had nothing. Enjoy every one of those walks and all of the places you visit. Appreciate what and who you have because the universe is a cunt and it can take it aaaaalllll away from you in literally 5 seconds!
Wow, you really like beef! Lol
AHAHA I sure do!
Thanks for waking me up @MilesMochizuki
Wake up, new Ella just dropped!

Wish I had a good routine like this back in school
Such a vibe!
only 462 subs is criminal. great video!
our TH-cam channel video has a bad SEO score of Due to this your subscribers and views are not increasing, and the titles, descriptions, and keywords SEO should be done correctly only then you will get good results. the same problem in Video every.
Incredible
@@mahedi_rony thank u ☺️
That’s so cool! My sister studied abroad in Ireland! Japan looks so fun glad you got to go!
@@1c0mment-07 Ireland that’s awesome! I hope she had a great time☺️
A very moving video. As a sidebar.. clearing your mask IS very scary and quite difficult if you have a fear of inhaling water.. and EVERYONE should have that fear. Imnsho it should not be taught just before you've booked a dive in the ocean. Go to a dive shop and find a patient instructor and do it at a pool... Or just practise it by yourself, in your own time, and start by getting used to opening your eyes underwater. You'll get there.😀
hey, watching your video i can understand how happy you were in the beginning and how life can change very suddenly.I had a big change in my life as well and have felt betrayal.Looking at you helps me warm up inside and think that I can actually leave back sad moments no matter how many days i wasted overthinking and having anxiety.Thankfully I am healing more and more everyday but sometimes I say :what if it doesnt work out well? Anyway , your video set me at ease for tonight and I will have a nice reminder for the rainy days! :)
@@OranGeCA.t I’m glad to hear my video was able to help :) I completely get u with feeling unsure about the future. I wish you the best on your healing journey 🫶

Damn never knew Daniel Caesar was in Tokyo that's crazy.
Yess it was so amazing!!
I literally slept at those benches you are sitting at 2:00 one night for a layover after arriving from Korea. They never dimmed the light lmao
wait actually that's wild!!
Wait you cut the bowling clip just before it hit! WAS IT A STRIKE?! Anyway - thanks for sharing your reflections with us. I had a similar experience with studying abroad - we only learn through adversity and as you said putting ourselves out there. Would love if your next video explored the idea of readjusting to life back home.
unfortunately not a strike 😭😭😭 And thank you for your comment :) Where did you study abroad?
@@ellamochizuki Canada! I didn't have a language barrier to deal with, but it was the other side of the world for me so it challenged me in different ways.
@@jonodeee_ I can imagine! That's awesome; Canada sounds like a cool place to study abroad
Almost a perfect vlog...music is unobtrusive, thoughtful and interesting monologue,...just 7:46 7:48 the editing...bit too quick, hard to keep with. I live near Byron...it's a dump😊..I'mstill in the Northern Rivers but give byron a wide berth.......editing got better toward the end. Loved how you told a story...it was engrossing. Others could learn from you.
I’m a now 64yr old Aussie mum, raised in beautiful far east Melbourne at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges. After travelling overseas numerous times, I fully appreciate this gorgeous and safe country. And I am happy. Even though I have an illness that is incurable, every day I am grateful that I was born into this amazing country. We are really just so lucky and the general vibe of Aussies is chilled and happy, which is why most of us are very friendly. Sometimes you are not running from your problems, you are just taking a time out from the crap and it makes it easier for you to see things in a much better light, and that is what you’ve done. Best wishes from stunning Castlemaine, central Victoria
You came to the right place. You found your right path. Keep going!
Hi Ella! I visited your TH-cam channel and watched some videos. But your videos are a few views, channel subscribers are very limited. Mainly the TH-cam channel isn't optimized. Video is not SEO (Search engine optimization). If you are interested I will help you for all and everything and give me your contact information. Then I can explain everything to you
Stumbled across your video made me miss Sydney a lot … 3 more months before I go back home thank u for this video and thank u TH-cam algorithm
What school is that? I’m looking for apartments now, starting at Temple University in Sept.
You have done a great job narrating your trip and what you experienced Ella. I wanted more out of it as it was so interesting. Pity you didn't get the chance to see the outback or other parts but we know Americans have such short holidays off work that it makes sense you would concentrate on the usual tourist landmarks and places. I hope you did see a bit of the Great Barrier Reef, perhaps from a glass bottom boat? It's a long way and a very expensive trip to come for such a short time, but you got what you wanted out of the experience. Did you hold a koala or pat a kangaroo while down here? I hope you did. I know those sorts of experiences are not readily available outside of Australia. Well I hope you continue experiencing new places and enjoying life in general. I myself have been through a similar hurdle to you when my brother betrayed me after both my parents died. It turned out he was a narcissist and I had no idea. It's always good to clear your head and let the issues go so you do not get caught out being a victim of an abusive person consistently. Some people can't walk away easily, but you can if you really want to and it is in YOUR best interests to. All the best, greetings from Adelaide, South Australia.
great vid 🎉
Thank u!!
