I'm probably closest to B
person D, I have a sketchbook but it looks bad
the owl form looks like an upside down mango
inktober 2024 wasn’t the best, it seemed like ai generated prompts and many of them were way too similar. i enjoyed drawtober a lot more! plus with drawtober you get 5 days to work on the prompts so it really helped someone like me who gets overwhelmed easily and procrastinates :) i was actually able to complete it!
lol idc if my draws look bad. im starting at -0 lmao
I’m totally Person B. I used to draw a lot in high school and college, but adult life stroked hard and I feel I was left behind Many artist friends evolved their style in this meanwhile and I feel like I don’t. The stuff I used to draw feels outdated and low skilled now This video game me the confidence I needed to go back to where I need to go!
Your advice is so very helpful, your art is quite beautiful. ❤❤❤❤ Do you also have one video that could help for younger that wants good drawing but without those techniques? I have a younger brother that wants to draw good but i don't know what is good for him t get encourage, and I do not want to just force him right away with these techniques first thing, i do these techniques myself but i want him atleast have baby steps first ❤
Im person B (🤣😂🤣
Im person D: the artist that lost interest and motivation but wanting to rekindle that passion
I want to learn to draw. But i dont have the enthusiasm to learn to draw because everything i do now looks terrible. (Like a 3 year olds). My 4 year old niece can draw better than me and im 19. 😞
Im a graphics designer that can't (or more like didn't worried about learning how to) draw, my area is mostly web design and marketing, with a little bit of animation for making animated posters and a little bit of video edition for making shorts, tiktok, stories etc lately i've been getting the itch to learning how to properly animate and draw and i feel like a lot of graphic design basics would translate well to drawing but i don't know i feel like it's not for me that im lacking talent or IDK
I am a person D. I wanna draw, I have courses for drawing, but I have no idea what to draw
Awesome video! I totally agree, art is for be fun, but is not blocking us from learn some fundamentals. I think the biggest problem is that people are afraid to draw a 'bad' drawing, and this makes them scare of even start. I say those things, because i was this type of person, but when i change the way a see my drawings, as fun steps, every mistake started to be a fun part too.
What about the artist that has the ideas and concept all sorted out in mind but doesn’t have the skills to translate it onto paper😢
Btw, what are the markers you're using in your owl sketches? I can relate to person C as I'm taking this year to explore different creative paths and I've always wanted to try art.
Somehow this video had a different effect on me than I think it was supposed to. When you mentioned, „my recent hyperfixation“ I realized that that is exactly what I am lacking with drawing. I have hyperfixations for so many things, but drawing was the hobby that I grew up with and always was dearest to my heart, so I could never figure out why it is that when I sit down in order to draw, I never know what to draw or don't really feel inspired and how other people don't have that problem. And why it is easier for me to start new hobbies and pick up other crafts rather than doing what I'm supposed to really love. But now that you said that, I realize I don't have hyperfixations when it comes to drawing, and I need the hyperfixations in order to feel motivation (probably due to my ADHD)… So thanks for helping me at least understand why I don't feel like drawing most of the time, or why I have trouble coming up with topics.
hi fren ! I have adhd too, and it's the hyperfixations that help me draw and keep me drawing when I sit down, I totally relate to the "sitting down and staring at the blank page and feeling overwhelmed", it's the starting that is hardest with adhd, even with things you really DO want to do, it's ironic and paradoxical, but it's true. I don't have a hyperfixation for drawing per say, but for expressing my ideas through the process of drawing, but anything I'm interested in in my real life I HAVE to draw, because I love expressing what I like. Any hypefixation you have in life can be drawn, right now I'm reaaaaally into those adorable gachapon/trinket things from Japan vendors, and I love drawing them ! You just need to redirect your hyperfixation excitement to work for you when drawing (: with adhd these hyperfixations fizzle out quickly, I know, the goal is to keep yourself occupied with things you love and surrounded yourself with them ! I go over finding things to hyperfixate on/love in my previous video ! wishing you all the best <3
What are these amazing markers ur using?
I’m none of these ppl I’m that person that likes to draw but is scared that friends think it’s cringe (am I the only one?)
I struggle a lot when I don't see my drawings getting good, I guess I am too perfectionist and not embracing the little defaults that can make a drawing really beautiful, thanks for your advices 🌟
I'm a B for sure . i'm too scared of making mistakes so i just don't XD
i call my shit ‘junk journal’ (lovingly- junk is random objects or ideas). pearls can surely be found in the junk journal but no perfectionism when drawing; this journal is for junk, not finished pieces. if i can’t finish a page i find candy wrappers or stickers i like and stick em in there. ticket stubs, paint swatches, rando sticky note doodles i did.
The first few horses actually look like donkeys, they're super adorable
Im the other option lol, I used to fill out a lot of sketchbooks (i say that, they were just school notebooks) with nothing more than doodles in class, and since i graduated HS i havent even gotten 10 pages intk a sketchbook
Person… teal… mostly self taught artist who never finished art school became a tattoo artist but still struggle to accept my level of artistry and always wants to improve… pretty much like any artist anywhere lol
Person a for sure I'm just too lazy lol
I have art block and that turned into worring if itll look good and that im wasting my paper and stuff...
I'm ashamed to admit that I'm type A at the moment
this is so refreshing!!! I set a goal for my latest sketchbook to actively "not try to improve" and its full of scribbles and experiments and little characters and it looks like a 5 year olds sketch book and I haven't had as much fun creating in YEARS! Everyone should be encouraged to create for the act of creating sometimes, even those who do make art for a living. not to improve or have a good result or practice Draw like a child draws Just to put something onto a piece of paper because it feels good!
Thank you so much for this
Saying "any who" while drawing owls... "any hoo" lol
Person E: an old teacher who needs new strategies for her Gen A art students. Lol
"It never gets less frustrating, but it does get more fun"
Love the video! What color pencils are you using? :)
I really needed to here this 🙌🏼 thank you for you’re advice and inspiration ✨
8:27 I love when artists draw something connected to their culture. It's nice to know that such a great artist is polish just like me! Also can you speak polish?
I am a bit different. I want to learn art. I am learning all the fundamentals but I am so lost when it comes to just drawing. I don’t know how to start or what to draw.
I am person b…trying to not be a perfectionist…what kind of markers are you using?…
I am a mixture of Person A and B. I feel scared to make art because it might look bad and worse than other people's and other people can make art faster and more efficient than me. I stopped wanting to be a pro artist and actually somewhat enjoy the process of making art.
I am person D: I have a literal college degree in art and yet I have trouble keeping a sketchbook because school pressured me to only make finished things so now I can't leave anything unfinished even if it's just a doodle
I'm probably person E. An artist who hates drawing, doesn't understand sketching, but sees the value in sketchbooks (yet never has completed one and doesn't know how).
i know nothing about art techniques, i want to draw, dont know what to draw, dont know how to start to draw or where maybe better
I am nor A, B, or c. I have an artstyle I’m happy with and not afraid it’ll look bad. I’m just intimidated by the sketchbook. I can use a lined notebook just fine, but I fear I’ll waste the potential of the sketchbook I have if I started drawing in it. I know it’s a bit irrational, but if you had a cool themed sketchbook and you’re afraid what you draw will waste the pages (though you KNOW it won’t look bad), then why use it? That’s what keeps me from using a traditional sketchbook. I’m forever stuck with my lined notebooks :(
I just finished watching. I have some motivation to sketch some stuff now. Thank you!
I‘m a bit late, but I laughed out loud when I saw you mentioned Red Dead Redemption 2! I‘ve started playing the game in October and haven’t been able to stop. I‘m so in awe of the world (and the characters) they’ve created. It never occurred to me that I could use these feelings as a motivation to draw. Probably because I‘m person B/C. My art teacher traumatized me, so all the fear weighs extra heavy. This is something I really want to tackle in the upcoming year, maybe with professional help. Videos like yours make me want to rediscover the playfulness and fun that you can have while exploring creativity. Thank you for this! All the best for 2025 🙂
Person D: an artist who has too many sketchbooks but doesn't know where to start to tackle their pile
i am also polish, half australian half pole but i didnt know that some poles are islamic cause i was born catholic
"She feels bonita" was so unexpected for some reason and really made me laugh
I'm the person that has degrees in art and has carried around a sketchbook in the past, but now I feel that I lack time and inspiration.❤
I think I know what to make into my 2025 goal because of you.
I am the person a, I don't know how to draw but I enjoy it, thank you very much for the video and by the way I thought your accent was very nice, I am still learning Englis😅
One question: during the "study phase" of the owl or the horse, did you use real pictures? Or other drawn stuff?
Greetings from Poland ❤
