    Absolutely filthy engine bay .

What kind of wipes do you use to wipe up the oil and can those be thrown away in the regular trash? Also wondering if you can use the torque wrench you linked for tightening the lug nuts when doing a tire rotation too? Thanks for sharing

This video applies to the 2013 and earlier Fits. The 2014s and newer have a splash panel that has to be removed before you can even see the oil pan, let alone the drain plug or the filter. But, overall, the procedure is quite similar. When I change the oil and filter on my '09 Fit I use those low profile ramps that raise the car around three inches. That makes for easier access to the drain plug, which Honda could have placed at the front of the pan, but chose to place at the rear. And, I avoid Fram oil filters. I use NAPA, Wix or Purolator.

SARS-Cov-2 can hide in your engine oil waiting to infect a new host :)

What torque level (ft-lb) to tighten down the engine oil cap? Thanks.

Great video although I do a couple things differently. I use ramps for any work that doesn't involve removing any wheels, like oil changes. Also, I never use my torque wrench to break bolts loose. That's what the breaker bar is for. They're a lot cheaper than torque wrenches and come with many socket sets. Also, synthetic oil can run anywhere between 6000 to 8000 miles. So changing that oil every 3000 is unnecessary, unless that's your annual mileage or you have plenty of money to spend on oil

You can go full synthetic oil for around 7,500 miles. The automobile manufacturers recommend going around 6000 to 7500 miles with normal oil, yet synthetic oil lifespan can be extended to around 7,500 miles. To sure and close to accuracy, the manual of the car written by Honda Engineers is the ultimate source. Another thing, The Honda Fit manual says, these engines do not need additives. Wish I new that beforehand.

Wow this video is a train wreck! LOL! I'm leaving this video public for a few reasons. 1. To show progress on this channel. 2. To show everyone where I started on TH-cam. 3. To remind myself to just START, whatever it is, JUST START. --- I didn't have all my HOWs & WHATs figured out yet, but I had a WHY, so this was my best attempt at breaking the ice. I know that it is choppy but this will be fun to reflect on down the road. Struggling to start? Someone once told me to watch this video 10 times over: th-cam.com/video/GHrmKL2XKcE/w-d-xo.html
