Back in 1976 I remember going up the Winnats pass to get back to Manchester after it had started snowing. We were in a Honda Accord. We noticed that cars were driving up and having to turn back because of the snow. A land rover made up with no problem so we thought we would give it a go to avoid the huge detour back to M/C. Anyway I said I would sit on the bonnet to give extra weight to the front wheel drive car. The snow was quite thick by this time but we thought it was worth a try. We set off slowly and keep a steady pace reached the top just as the police were closing off the road. I was covered in a good few inches of snow and frozen to the core but we made it but got some disapproving looks from the police.

Thanks for this video as it brings so many memories back. My mum and dad took my two brothers sister and myself for a holiday in Seahouses many times when we were kids. I left Newcastle 40 years ago and on one visit back to Newcastle I went with my sister and we had a day out in Seahouses, a lovely place.
