    I’m a mom, but I’m a car enthusiast. I’m watching this bc I’m currently shopping a trade in from my modded Mustang to an Outback. I need something that can handle terrible road conditions, the Stang has too much torque with rear wheel drive and makes for an interesting go in bad conditions. Also, the state of roads these days is killing my suspension.

    I have one of these with 139K miles on it. I've owned it since 2015 (now 2023) the most maintenance free, trouble free car I've ever owned. Nothing but oil changes and 1 brake job since I've owned it. It's fast (0-60 in 5.5 seconds), fun to drive, comfortable, the engine is sewing machine smooth, gets great gas mileage (my wife drives it on a highway commute and regularly gets over 30mpg). Can't recommend Genesis enough. Fantastic vehicles.

    My 2018 3.6r is the best car I’ve ever owned. I’ve had a LOT of cars over my 40 years of road driving and this is the stand out for sure. My farm has dirt roads all round and it sticks to them like glue….and when you take it out onto the tarmac it’s even better. It’s an all rounder that does it all really well.

    I’m looking at buying a 2007 Subaru Impreza pretty much stock the guy is a mechanic and claims to have done a fix up every 5000km, but the engine has around 257,000 km on it and was wondering if that is a bit much this if my first car and wanted to know if that was a good idea or not

    • @k9-unit-australia275
      @k9-unit-australia275 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not a good idea. Thats alot of kms & will end up a money pit. Buy something newer with less kilometres. You’ll save a fortune in the long run. Remember the poor man always pays twice.

    I mean, even as an enthusiast, you need a normal car that can get you through anything.. because let’s face it - you modify the fk out of your race car and you end up not being able to drive it all the time :) The Outback is fantastic.

    I drive an 07 Impreza with 355k. I bought it at 330k because it blew a timing belt going down interstate at 75 mph because of failed timing belt tensioner. I’m a mechanic and did my research. Everyone seemed to think the engine needed to be replaced but after inspection of the piston heads and bent valves since it is interference engine I decided to just replace all 16 bent valves, valve seals, head gaskets and a timing belt kit. I had to reseat the valve guides as they had pushed out of their original position that caused some exhaust valves to not to seat firmly. It was risky because I couldn’t find info on anyone doing this and it working out. So far so good I love the car handles and drives great. Just took it on a road trip no problems. I recommend this car

      I know im 1 year late on the comment but .. Not really its not the same block 2.5i has a open deck EJ253 block and the sti has a semi open deck (not closed but still) sti has lower compression ratio (that lets room for way more boost ) sti can handle 20lbs of boost on stock internals and the 2.5i can only hold max 5psi (above that you can blow up some stuff) besides all those things and the 6 speed manual trans that can hold up to 600hp and the electronic Diferential that you can choose to close or open with a button and some brakes and suspention maybe even the drive shaft i guess they are the same car lol … im a proud owner of a 2.5i btw (i had an sti before tho)

    Yep, I can agree with most of what you said about the 3.6R. I bought a 2019 and it puts my 4x4 truck to shame. Not sure what you means about it not being nimble in tight situations, but if you've ever driven a full size truck off-road then you'd say the 3.6R is as nimble as a chimpanzee with the speed of a cheetah. In fact, I bought this to eventually do full off-roading with it. The theme I got from XV and other Subie owners was they wished their car had more power. Well, the 3.6R does. Yet, all that said, I bought it partly for my wife to drive to work because of the safety features as she works 3rd shift.

    Our 2016 3.6 limited has been the best vehicle we've ever purchased. Extremely spacious for a family of 4. The 3.6 really drives so smooth and barely seems to even be working while going up the steepest mountains. Throw a rack on top and you have a great outdoor vehicle that the whole family can easily pack up for a long camping trip. It will get up and go, takes turn great, and overall is just an extremely pleasurable drive for its original 40k price point. We're looking to buy a second one used since they no longer produce the 3.6.

    Finding parts is hard? That explains why the insurance salvage them when they wreck was not a big deal. Since they're hard to get, they're probably expensive to import. It's the end of 2019, a junk yard should have more of these to get your parts. :)
