    I've had a TI-1 Seville since the 1980s. The turntable speed cannot be adjusted. There simply is not an adjustment mechanism. Mine was started up after several years sitting idle in my basement. The turntable was rotating real slow. The fix was to order a new, fresh capstan. The original's rubber ring was no longer pliable and slipped against the motor spindle. The new one grabbed the spindle just right. Plays at the correct speed now! Hope this helps.

    Great review. Something about this user interface and sensitivity make it outshine my other radios, even larger radios. C.Crane put a lot of work on both the user interface and RF capabilities that still make it king of the pocket radios a decade after it came out. Sure, you can get a radio that does more things, but none that do what this does as well, particularly in a small form factor.

    In Dubai… the mp110 cost 5 times more than at91 which I use in my Rega p1, direct replacement of Rega Carbon stylus

    The first thing I would do is try a different TV if possible. Also, where aren't any video converters in between are there?

    • @labnine3362
      @labnine3362 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree - it's probably the TV. I have the same problem with my Sears INTV too. No other systems do this. But it could be down to some kind of frequency that the TV isn't compatible with. I'm looking for an RF to HDMI converter. Not easy!

  • @snarkmaxx27
    @snarkmaxx27 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    *Snarf Snarf* Are you using a shielded RF cable? I had a system that would do this once the system gets warm. Does tapping the Intellivision do anything to the picture; warm or cold? *Snarf Snarf*

    • @labnine3362
      @labnine3362 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the advice. I do have a very well shielded cable. I think it might be the tv. It's on the wall, so the VCR trick won't work. I'm probably either going to *try* to mod it or use an RF converter box. I don't have this issue with my Atari or any of my other retro systems when going in through RF.

    To my ears Nagaoka has much better separation of instruments and vocals. Probably it has lower distortion.

    I bought a Lenco L75 for parts back 6 years ago,I only needed one part but could not find that part alone,so had to get multiple parts,for restoring the one I already have,in the parts bags,he put all parts in separate bags,as I was digging through the rest of the parts bags yesterday, there was a little box,inside it had the original Shure M44-7 and in that box was a tiny box with a brand new original replacement Stylus,I am going to set it up and compare it to my Grado Prestige Gold1

      Awesome. If you remember, check back with me and let me know if how you liked the M44-7 in person. It's a really solid stylus/cart IMO. I used it exclusively for many years in the past.

    Interesting review, thanks. I have listened to this a lot including through headphones at volume with my eyes shut and also open and they sound almost identical to me. I was thinling the Nagaoka from other reviews but now I am thinking for my ears the AT91 would be an economic alternative. How would you consider the Nagaoka vs the AT-VM95C vs the AT91?

    • @labnine3362
      @labnine3362 ปีที่แล้ว

      I posted another video comparing the AT-VM95C and the Nagaoka MP-110. th-cam.com/video/GHqa8H20tJ0/w-d-xo.html The Nagaoka fanboys on youtube are seriously splitting hairs. Sure, you can hear a small difference when sitting perfectly still, while listening through headphones. A tiny amount of treble is apparent with the MP-110 to my ears. Is that enough to justify the price difference for most people? Can you hear this difference with speakers? Right now on Amazon, the AT-95c is $39 and the MP-110 is $133. There's so much to consider here. Are spherical stylus options really that bad? Do you have to spend hundreds more to enjoy music? Now that I think about it, I should compare a cheap table to an expensive one while I'm at it. Could reveal some other well-worn myths are exaggerations.

    Soundstage is more full and the cymbals sound clearer on the Nagaoka.

    So do you hear much difference in person?

    • @labnine3362
      @labnine3362 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best way to describe the difference in person is that the AT91 is smoother and more natural sounding. The MP-110 has a higher top end. If that is something you enjoy, you can get it with the AT91 and a small treble adjustment on your receiver.

    How about the inner groove peformance ?

    • @labnine3362
      @labnine3362 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, the best inner groove performance is with a microline or shiabata but with the lower cost VM95C, it's pretty good! Here's a video with a VM95C playing the last track of the Ziggy Stardust record (below). The MP-110 isn't represented but a host of other options are. Surprising how excellent most of them are. More surprising is how inexpensive options from Audio Technica keep up with the more expensive options. th-cam.com/video/VujPP5rsVUc/w-d-xo.html

  • @labnine3362

    The fascinating thing from doing stylus comparisons with different records, the noticeable thing for me is that with headphones, the spherical styluses have a touch less detail than elliptical styluses but much less noise. It's a strange tradeoff. Through speakers, I often prefer the spherical stylus. Of course, this is very subjective but price is sometimes not a guarantee of quality or a great experience.

  • @labnine3362
    @labnine3362 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Strange how the MP-110 has a touch more detail but a lot more noise than the VM95C. On balance, the VM95C is pretty excellent with 60's rock IMO. FWIW this is a new record.

  • @labnine3362
    @labnine3362 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Both the MP-100 and M44-7 present the material very well IMO. Listening with headphones and my eyes closed the M44-7 has the slight edge.
