Love this video passed my test in Wag n Drag last December 23 which should be band from using when taking your C/E Class 1 test. I had 2 assessments in a cab and trailer and was always clipping the curbs when I was trying to stay in my lane and not really splitting the lanes like you were doing, so I have taken all this on board nd hope I passs the next assessment as Im not giving up put to much of my time and energy into this but I will watch this great video a good few more times as I always feel deflated when clip curbs... many thanks for your time making this video and helping us all ***** 5 Stars.

It annoys me that trailer heights aren't written on trailers by law. I understand that the height can change based on the height of the unit but there has to be a better way

Just passed my Theory Hazard and CPC yesterday. I am very lucky I work for Aldi I'm on their apprentice driver scheme. It's 12 month's of training a ton of training and practical experience before I take my class 1 test. Plus it's a guaranteed job at the end of it. Also we have trucks and trailers and a yard so we get so much time behind the wheel it's an incredible program. If your thinking about getting into HGV's I highly recommend it. Yes you do have to be contracted as an Aldi employee for at least a year.....and be a good and professional employee for at least a year before you can apply. But seriously your paid to train you don't pay a penny for tests or lessons. And you know there is a well paid job at the end. Once you finish the course your a very qualified driver as there are master classes during the course. Once they are on your CV you will be able to get a job anywhere if you decided to leave the company. Not sure why you would leave though.

It's called training, training and discipline. But a risky move from the cyclist.

Please teach truck drivers to NOT use mobile phones while driving massive articulated vehicles and while following much smaller vehicles far too closely.

Always scan the mirrors and ahead, the UK roads are much more congested these days - always look after number six, as fighter pilots are disciplined to do - it's the same for the roads, especially cities, which now include these electric scooters and deliveroo kamikaze riders that go faster than the mandatory 20mph. Keep your eyes peeled!

Problem with assessment is that some fail and they are not coached, companies would be much better off assessing the new driver and then buddy them up for a few weeks with an existing driver, most companies don’t offer jobs to drivers who fail the assessment, it even puts off some experienced drivers from moving job

Where are you located?

Reaching the brow of the hill at 1:45, why are you doing 50mph when that is far TOO FAST such that you cannot stop well within the distance you can see to be clear? How far ahead of the brow of that hill can you see, you can't see at all beyond the brow of the hill yet you are at the absolute maximum limit for that vehicle going into a blind situation. What if there's a cyclist the other side of the hill going slowly, a pedestrian, an equestrian, a broken down vehicle or a vehicle turning from an entrance? Rule 125 "The speed limit is the absolute maximum and does not mean it is safe to drive at that speed irrespective of conditions." Rule 126 Stopping distances. Drive at a speed that will allow you to stop well within the distance you can see to be clear. This highlights how HGV drivers and other motorists have a lack of understanding regards speed and stopping distances, particularly on A and B roads outside of built up areas! There's a general lack of respect for safety to iother road users including the most vulnerable and why HGV drivers are the worst when it comes to being involved in collisions, all that mass and going too quickly to be able to slow down!
