Jacob, I know what you’re going through. Last year about this time, my parents passed away. In the fall, I had to sell their house, which was the house I grew up in. The new owners basically gutted it out and renovated it. Much of the work that had gone into it was done by my dad’s own hands. It was a bittersweet parting with the house. I hope the new family there finds as much comfort and happiness living there as I did over the years. Also, many of my friends have moved to different parts of the country, and I have very few friends and relatives that are still nearby. Hang in there. One day at a time. ❤

I worked with kids that had autism. The most awesome kids I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. Yes, life is scary. I lost both my parents and now I feel like an orphan. But I have my animal friends. I have 7 cats 🐈‍⬛ and a dog. All u can do is be grateful for what u have and move forward. My old childhood house 🏡 is now just a memory because I had to move and it was in a bad neighborhood. You always have the memories and nobody can take that away from you. Take care❤

I have it also.. if i sit and think about it i let it work me over. I have a very strict routine and i avoid anything that trys to change it. You have to compartmentalize and take small steps. Try not to think so hard about it.

Hey Jacob! I really admire you for sharing your feelings. Know that you are never alone! This experience will make you a stronger and more resilient person. In my experience, all the challenges I have faced have made me a better person. I know it’s hard to see it in the moment but in time you will see that it did.

Feel the fear and do it anyway, as they say. The questions can be worse than living through bad experiences. Once you add on to your experience it will feel a lot easier. Pretend to be a conquistador invading Peru, they didn't have the luxury of wondering what they'd do if things got bad, it was succeed or die.

I am sorry you are dealing with this Jacob. I know it is difficult, even small changes can be disruptive. Do not be afraid to make mistakes or try something and it is not right for you. That was hard for me too. In a few years a lot of them will be divorced and come back around. Life has cycles. And you are in a big change cycle where everyone you seem to know is headed someplace else. And you are still there. It makes things seem emptier. It's ok. This is a new time for you to discover more about yourself and what you want to do or like. Sending love ❤️ Hang in there. It's just as bad for some non-autistic people. It hurts when the people you love go away. Even though it could be a good thing for them, that doesn't really help how we feel. Happy and sad at the same time

Complelty relate to this man. It is fucking terrifying sometimes. When I do my best to keep eye contact, I keep having the feeling I'll get called out for stareing too long as I dont know how long I should keep eye contact.

You're not wrong to feel that way, man, humans are the only animals who see eye contact as respectful. A lot of other animals see eye contact as a sign of aggression.

Its an issue many people with social anxiety struggle with, and most people in my life have experienced these feeling as well. My suggestion is to explore the different forms of eye contact. We do so as a form of acknowledgment, but also to understand each other or send signals. There are many ways to make eye contact that can make it uncomfortable, but at the same time being able to do so will allow you to positively change so many people's lives. Your feelings are completely valid, and ultimately they are not something you need to overcome, rather simply understand so that like how you did in this video. You can help others understand you as well.

I have never been able to look people in the eyes. Mine is a conditioned response to childhood abuse. I used to be terrified. I cope now, though. It can be very scary.

The eyes are the windows to the soul. God made the soul. We fear gods judgement on on judgment day. When one looks at anothers eyes, one feels ashamed and fear of judgement

not autistic but i’m heavily antisocial and my ptsd makes people even just looking at me makes me feel like exploding sometimes, i often catch myself wishing i didn’t have the ability to see solely because i can observe people judging me lowkey

I’m not autistic but I definitely have a lot of trouble with this as well. It feels overwhelming, I can’t keep a conversation because I feel as though I’m getting way too much information for even a short period of time. Do what makes you comfortable!
