It was a sad moment no doubt, but not many know that a high profile boxing day test against star studded South Africa was cancelled so Tendulkar could play a 3 rd West indies at Wankhede.
When sachin played well, india slept well. Sums up everything

I'm a mere mortal." 2. **Virat Kohli**: "Tendulkar has carried the burden of the nation for 21 years. It is time we carried him on our shoulders." 3. **Rahul Dravid**: "What he has done for the country over the last 20-21 years, it's unbelievable." 4. **Sir Don Bradman**: "I saw myself in Sachin when I saw him playing." 5. **Steve Waugh**: "There is no shame in losing to such a great player." These quotes reflect the respect and admiration that Sachin Tendulkar commands in the world of cricket. [08/07, 10:24 am] Gyan: Here are more quotes about Sachin Tendulkar from various prominent figures: 1. **Mark Taylor**: "We did not lose to a team called India. We lost to a man called Sachin." 2. **Harsha Bhogle**: "If Sachin bats well, India sleeps well." 3. **Shane Warne**: "Sachin Tendulkar is, in my time, the best player without a doubt-daylight second, Brian Lara third." 4. **Andrew Flintoff**: "When you bowl at him, you are not just trying to get him out, you are trying to impress him." 5. **Matthew Hayden**: "I have seen God. He bats at No. 4 for India." 6. **A.R. Rahman**: "The only thing predictable about him is that he’s unpredictable." 7. **Ravi Shastri**: "He is someone sent from up there to play cricket and go back." 8. **Michael Clarke**: "Sachin Tendulkar was the best batsman of my generation. He is an inspiration for me." 9. **Hashim Amla**: "Nothing bad can happen to us if we’re on a plane in India with Sachin Tendulkar on it." 10. **Glenn McGrath**: "Sachin Tendulkar, the greatest batsman the world has ever seen." 11. **Sir Vivian Richards**: "I think he is marvelous. I think he can be classified in the same class as the Don." 12. **Kapil Dev**: "He can play that leg glance with a walking stick also." 13. **Wasim Akram**: "Cricketers like Sachin come once in a lifetime and I am privileged he played in my time." 14. **Anil Kumble**: "I am fortunate that I’ve to bowl at him only in the nets." These quotes highlight Sachin Tendulkar's unparalleled skill and the immense respect he commands across the cricketing world. [08/07, 10:42 am] Gyan: Here are some quotes about Sachin Tendulkar ¹: - “Sachin Tendulkar has often reminded me of a veteran army colonel who has many medals on his chest to show how he has conquered bowlers all over the world.” - Allan Donald - “I think he is marvelous. I think he will fit in whatever category of cricket that has been played or will be played, from the first ball that has ever been bowled to the last ball that’s going to be. He can play in any era and at any level. I would say he’s 99.5% perfect.” - Sir Vivian Richards - “I don’t think anyone, apart from Don Bradman, is in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar.” -Shane Warne - “Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there is something we don't know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their television sets and switch off their lives.” - BBC Sports - “On a train from Shimla to Delhi, there was a halt at one of the stations. The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing a century, batting on 98. The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train waited for Sachin to complete the century. This genius can stop time in India!” - Peter Roebuck - “Even if my grandchildren don’t remember the fact that I scored 10,000 runs in One Day and Test cricket, they will surely remember the fact that I was a team mate of Sachin Tendulkar.” - Rahul Dravid - “You get him out and half the battle is won.” - Arjuna Ranatunga - “Cricketers like Sachin come once in a lifetime and I am privileged he played in my time.” - Wasim Akram - “Test cricket is bloody hard work, especially if you’ve got Sachin batting with what looks like a three-metre-wide bat.” - Mike Hussey And here are some quotes from Sachin Tendulkar himself ²: - “People throw stones at you and you convert them into milestones.” - “Don't stop chasing your dreams, because dreams do come true.” - “If you remain humble, people will give you love and respect even after you have finished with the game. As a parent, I would be happier hearing people say, “Sachin is a good human being” than “Sachin is a great cricketer” any day.” - “Son, life is like a book. It has numerous chapters. It also has many a lesson in it. It is made up of a wide variety of experiences and resembles a pendulum where success and failure, joy and sorrow are merely extremes of the central reality. The lessons to be learnt from success and failure are equally important. More often than not, failure and sorrow are bigger teachers than success and happiness.” - “The key to handling pressure situations like these is to keep yourself steady, follow your instincts and think clearly.” - “If Destiny throws a stone at you, don't let it become a millstone. Make it into a milestone.” - “Chase your dreams .... but make sure you don't find shortcuts ....” - “Enjoy the game, chase your dreams because dreams do come true:” - “When trying to save a match, the important thing is to set small targets. These can be as little as batting the next five overs, or the next hour, or even a session. If a wicket doesn’t fall for close to a session, the opposition, however much they are in control, are bound to feel pressure. Time was gradually running out for England and restlessness was creeping in.”

Years gone but the emotions remain the same
I m seeing in 2023 also for my god of cricket sachin, still makes tears in my eyes, what a heart breaking moments and heart touching moments, sachin is absolute genius of cricket forever, after 10 years of his retirement also it makes every fan of cricket cry, only legend of game, legends never retire, ofcourse virat kohli is ruling cricket now, but no one can beat sachin attitude, Virat kohlinor any player may break his records but no one can bring such a honour to game , with his play of cricket , he made entire nation as one, no other player can match his attitude, salute to sachin....
