"I-V Characteristics of a Diode: Forward Bias Simplified" #experiment #follow #education #12thclass
#physics #cbse #12thclass #follow #experiment #physicspractical #physicswallah #practical In this video, we’ll look at the I-V characteristic curve of a p-n junction diode in forward bias.
1. Axes: The x-axis represents the voltage across the diode, and the y-axis represents the current through the diode.
2. Initial Region: When the voltage is low (0V to ~0.1V), the current is almost zero. The diode doesn’t conduct.
3. Exponential Rise: As the voltage increases (around 0.7V for a silicon diode), the current starts to increase rapidly. This is because the diode begins to conduct.
4. Saturation: Beyond 1V, the current rises more slowly and approaches a limit, indicating the diode is fully conducting.
5. Shape: The graph starts flat, then steepens after the threshold voltage (around 0.7V), showing exponential current growth.
