Well my friend I stay 207 miles from my DC and even though I dread the commute weekly this month makes a year for me and now I’m able to transfer! The pros out weigh the cons and sometimes ya just gotta make the sacrifice until ya get what you want lol. I love the job and the camaraderie imma miss them when I transfer cause we’re a DC that’s always cooking!!

I think 150 would be my limit. Im 60 miles from my job in Cleburne but might transfer to Sanger to be closer at 32 miles.

There’s a guy at the Sacramento DC he would arrive early sleep in the truck for 2 to 1 hr before his shift starts and on his Friday if he gets to the yard late he’ll sleep overnight and goes home in the morning on his off day.

I drive 30 min to SoCal DC 😂 anything more is just too much 😂

Lol I live 155 mi from Walmart. I think that's worth it when you only have to go to work every other week. Most truck drivers don't make what I make working full time. Unfortunately society has been brainwashed into the thought of them having to work full-time regardless of whether they make good money or not. The biggest mistake I ever made was not starting out five on five off 18 years ago. I worked myself to death for years for stuff I didn't really need and rarely had time to enjoy lol although I totally understand if people worked up a lot of debt then a lot of these guys have to work full time. Also I totally get it if someone is just starting out in life and they need to get that boost going to get a good strong start.

You’re absolutely right. I had enough of this Florida traffic, double drop and hooks, so I’m going back on teams, it’s whole lot easier

When you go out with the mentor for 10 days after onboarding and orientation are you paid regular driver pay or is it paid at the training $240 rate?? Thanks

its not bad tho...finished my 1st yr made over 95k on a 5/2-5/3. and with over 25 days PTO vacation days used...full benefits and they are paying for me going back to school to get my 4 yr degree. No complaints here...the only 1 is I wished i would have came here 15 yrs ago.

Coming from the LTL world up Walmart would certainly feel like a retirement job.

Not true if they really want you to do it their way they would train you their way they tell you a few things then watch you crash and burn out of 15 drivers 11 will fail and slip seating is not something to write home about either 2,000 gross a week is not much more than a local driver that makes 35.00 hr working the same hours you Walmart driver work time and a half after 8 Costco is one of those local companies not knocking Walmart just keep it real

I think they can only pull your phone records if you are involved in an accident

Definitely good information, i was looking this on my way to on-boarding for Cleburne didn't now there was difference between dc and was worried about pay miles versus activity pay , like all your and the driver comment help me , wanted to make sure i can make the money then been talking about and i almost applied for Sanger , Cleburne is only 20 minutes away

It’s probably a clogged or cracked def filter on the bottom of the tank. It happened to me once, it sprayed def all over the driver side of the truck down to the axles, make sure they clean any residue off other wise you’ll get pulled into the scale and inspected

Does each driver make $494 a day, or does the truck make $494 daily? Also, what other activities do you get paid for if any? My wife and I are really interested in driving for Walmart as a team.
