      @jeromigonzalezaguilar1392 Honestly, I haven't heard a name for this movement, I think it's just a forward roll from a single leg, there's a move called a victory roll, but that's jumping to your opponents leg like a kani basami but instead of going backwards, you forward roll, which I also think is dangerous, but this option helps a lot, safety wise

    When should I go for the across the hip frame vs hand on the hips? Also when should I go for the overhead vs misdirectional escape? Also, when doing the misdirectional escape, do you want to start to kip when they’re posted on their free arm or their crossface arm?

    • @nickortizjiujitsu
      @nickortizjiujitsu 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @toesdoeswhoknows704 1. It's honestly preference, but two hands on hips help more for the misdirectional escape 2. Play between both, the overhead kipping escape for when the lateral kipping escape isn't working and vice versa. When you pair the two together, your partners will have a tough time holding down. 3. You want to start kipping with you've displaced weight onto one knee, start with a bridge that gets all of your partners weight onto one knee, it'll make it easier to kip to wided the space in-between their two knees to get your inside position. If these answers aren't clear, let me know, and thank you again for the comment, I appreciate it.

    • @toesdoeswhoknows704

      @@nickortizjiujitsu Thanks for your reply. I’m just starting out to try the Kipping escape. I tried it out on a partner where they had no crossface, but I couldn’t really get them going with the overhead Kipping escape. Should I just combine it with the misdirectional? Also, one of my teammates said I need to start with my arms locked out so I need to start by bridging and getting my arms straight first, is this true?

    • @nickortizjiujitsu
      @nickortizjiujitsu 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @toesdoeswhoknows704 Honestly, when they're up right, I like to bridge them forward or towards a side, you have to displace weight in the direction or your kip. Also, I don't see an issue locking your arms out(forehand frames) just make sure there's no space for an underhook

    • @nickortizjiujitsu
      @nickortizjiujitsu 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @toesdoeswhoknows704 if you can, try to separate ankles. If not, that's when we bridge them onto one knee. It'll make your kips easier when all of their weight is on one knee.

  • @euroamerican15

    Nick what do you like to do for people who always opt to jump on a front headlock and roll over you immediately?

    • @nickortizjiujitsu
      @nickortizjiujitsu 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @euroamerican15 If I can, I'm never looking down at the mat, presenting the back of my head, but if I do get caught, when my partner lands, we're both parallel with each other, bring your heels to your hamstrings and loon to bridge on top of them so that you have a pin. Once you're there, the hand fighting becomes easier, and if it's tough, you'll walk to a perpendicular angle, throw one leg over the other and end up Ina side pin. I know that's a lot but I hope that explanation helps. 🙏🙏

    • @nickortizjiujitsu

      Appreciate the question, digging for the heel in that perspective would be difficult, if you want the heel from there, you could move on to a back side 50/50, but I honestly like controlling the secondary leg, control their movement so you have time to solidify the submission

      It's a great option, the best approach is to combine as many escapes with movement, depending on how skilled the opponent is at keep a connection to your shoulder with their hips. I appreciate the comment 🙏🙏

    Could we see some content on buttterfly sweeps?? I’ve been working my butterflies but get messed up when people post out on the leg in the direction I’m trying to sweep them in.
