@monsiutech yeah, i actually liked the cyanogenmod era more because like the official updates of phones were very low and the stock firmware was really bad (performance issues, bloated etc.)

11 years is alot. i started in 2019 with baby steps leaning on lineage. I can not think of living without a custom ROM...its just so cool

bruh what do you guys mean you can not root newer phones and that its harder? Newer phones are way easier and older phones are more of a pain due to google blocking older kernels from booting new custom roms.

Lineage is pretty good fr. Simple and straight to the point. Pretty barebones though to me.

I use lineage OS to have android 15 on my galaxy s6 and galaxy s10. I can use every app even banking apps without any modifications. On lineageOS it also shows knox as being not triggered ( 0x0 ). What apps did you have trouble with? I cannot find one.

Not really. But depends on which app you are talking about. Sometimes its a necessity since the OS can restrict to the point even notifications can not go through like for whatsapp i unrestricted it. In this case of one ui home, it's taking up only 1 percent since i last fully charged and whatsapp is 6 percent.

Not really. Its just not as common anymore but not at all dead since support for devices is finite but a custom rom pushes it for a few more years

Yeah, now its a pain because you have google destroy safetynet making it useless and using a more secure method of verification using play integrity which is a pain the butt lol. But all in all there are bypasses that even allow you to spoof the bootloader as locked allowing you to use the banking apps as usual

hey use this site samfw.com/ to download the stock firmware then take the AP file and remove the .md5 to make it a .tar file then extract and inside you will find the stock recovery img file I am using pixel os(GSI not a ROM) but an old version, the new one is a bit buggy but feel free to give them a shot github.com/MisterZtr/PixelOS_gsi/releases

the process to flash a custom ROM is the same as here. Best ROM is subjective since it depends if your device has a custom rom in the first place or if it is a gsi.

Lol it came off again? Despite the glue? Thats crazy. Those technician glue is usually really strong. I remember i had a hard time peeling it off when i wanted to remove my back cover on another phone.
