Everything You Need To Know About The Straight Six Engine
มุมมอง 3562 ปีที่แล้ว
Straight-six engines may be a dying race, but there's a reason they exist in the first place.
Fastest Police car, really used in Germnay, is the Brabus CLS V12 S Rocket, equipped with a 730-hp V12 that will move the car from 0 to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds, from 0 to 124 in 10.5 seconds and from 0 to 186 mph in 29.5 seconds. The top speed is 224 mph. Keep the american toy cars...
I'll take a 1969 Dodge Polara with the 440 interceptor engine. According to old timers from the CHP, the 140 MPH speedometer was only a hint of what the car could really do.
It's good to know the cars are better than most street cars. Many criminals think they can outrun cops. Only they are not outrunning a police car but, the police, plural.
only 30 inches of wading? i've seen hummers crossing rivers deep as the almost total submerge
I love the Crown Vic. The Caprice interceptor was another great pursuit vehicle. Those old schools, Polaras and Plymouth, were awesome. The newer pilice interceptors are too light and lack nuts. Of course, it is my opinion. I own my life to two Crown Vic. I was T bone while stopping at an intersection. The other we have a blowout. I was hurt both times, but I survived.
Arnold did not voice the hummer in the Cars movie. It was made to look and sound like him, but it was voiced by Jess Harnell
When Ford started using the turbo in a 4 and 6 banger on trucks and calling it an “Eco Boost” the other big players realized Ford just dropped the mic. The problem is that common sense engineering is no longer as profitable for these guys (coupled with the Gov. being involved in EVERYTHING).
5:47 porsch 9-1-1 ? just use a real voice
Horrendous voice over.
wait you just said IF they put the ford motor in a lighter car it would go faster!!!!! uh.......
Well , my Maserati does 185 but , i lost my license so now I don't drive !
When I was sixteen I did a roof in trade for a 71 plymouth interceptor. 150mph. Age 67.
HEMI V-8 😂 a HEMISPHERICAL cylinder head combustion chamber
I wanted an h1 so bad had to settle for an h3 but I still love it
Makes me wonder what cops will have in times to come with the stupid ass EV push. The state patrol here use hell cats and they love them.
Not that I own police cars, but the cars I’ve owned would go much fast if they weren’t governed. I had Pontiac that swear would hit 150 if wasn’t governed to 118. My current Sierra could exceed 140 if it wasn’t governed to 115. It’s not fair they do this to us.
Look my 88 conquest could still beat these cars with 188hp 235 toque running 160 mph... I know cause never been caught... However now days cars got a thousand HP... No way as in the radio can't keep up not even a helicopter... Until the state rapes the citizens taxes to have top of the line y'all are screwed not to mention cops are dumb and will wreck constantly...which is money taken away from schools and endangering lives due to a frivolous high speed chase that can kill bystanders over stolen property....
What is this ai💀💀💀 3.0 echoboost
Florida highway patrol bought there own dodge challengers
Hey, do the guy who made the video? Can you not use the stupid AI voice bullshit? It's annoying as hell. Use your damn voice. That's what God gave you a voice for.
SWEET. Nice cars.
Departments across America are buying the 5.0 Mustangs now because their top speed is 220. Arkansas has one, and North Carolina just bought a bunch of them. Departments like the mustangs because they are small and fast and can catch anything on the road at top speed. There is a video out there that shows the Mustangs, and it's impressive as hell.
in what world is a 5.0 top speed 220, even if it was modified it wouldn’t hit 220😂
220Kmh?
I HATE THE PONTIAC SOLSTICE
They talked about the camaro 5.7 LT1 V8 and the 5 speed manual as they scan the interior of a camaro cop car with the automatic console and push button lever.... smh
Fake voice and fake video
bro sodes like a narator
This video has alot of misinformation in it and mixed info.
This "documentary" is woefully wrong. It misses the two fastest police vehicles ever made in the US. The first is the Dodge Charger SRT Pursuit Hellcat. The top speed of that car is 207 mph. The second is the Dodge Durango SRT Pursuit Hellcat. It is governed at 177 mph. Both are far faster than everything the video mentioned and are BOTH production police vehicles.
Cop cars?? SUVs top heavy as officers are too fat to sit behind wheel of pursuit cars that are mostly underpowered anyway... don't defund, pay to hire some decent drivers, let them supervise the build of pursuit vehicles and set them loose pitting street racers... before more innocent families are t-boned and killed at intersections during a chase when officers are told to hold back for policy/political reasons. Save the public before criminals... democrats, wake up you wokies.
Crappy AI voice is crappy AI voice.
This Ai stuff is way wrong on its numbers. It's like it's just making up numbers off the top of its server.
Pues 149 millas por hora nole miraria ni el polvo al GTR
The newer Chevrolet Caprice was faster than the Chargers, top end and 0-60. They handled much better too.

In the configuration they are now, yes. They are going electric, but they are still being made. Besides, I thought it was the Challenger going away?
I’d posted a comment to similar video saying that this AI-scavenged information was akin to Igor being tasked to find a brain for the creature in Frankenstein. The Michigan State Police tests go back quite a ways and consist of reliable data. My real world experience is - 1978 Ford LTD II 400 2V with light bar - 105 mph 1978 Ford LTD II 400 2V with light bar and purportedly with aftermarket intake, cam, carb, missing smog equipment - a, lot faster 1979 Ford LTD 351W with light bar - 105 mph +/- 1979 Ford LTD 351W with light bar converted to natural gas - a lot slower 1975 Plymouth B-body 400 4 barrel with light bar - lots of miles with amateur carb rebuilt to correct shop plugging secondaries to save gas - 110 mph 1987 CVPI 351W VV carb and burned valve - 90+ mph 1988 CCVPI 351 VV carb and light bar - 120 mph 1989 Chevy Caprice 350 ( not sure if TBI or 4 barrel) light bar - 120 mph 1991 Caprice 350 TBI light bar - 130 mph 1992 Mustang LX 302/5-speed/3.08 slick - 150 mph +/- as long as it didn’t overheat. 1992 Mustang LX SSP 302/AOD/3.08 slick - 135 mph +/- 2000s Tahoe police 2WD with 5.3 - 129 mph Police vehicles with modern engine management systems also have speed limiters like the Tauruses, Explorers, Tahoes, and chargers. They’d likely go a bit faster but the factories limit top speed for various reasons such as keeping drive shafts from vibrating everything loose, or jut plain liability.
What a crying shame! In 1978 Dodge and Plymouth built the fastest North American production car and you didn't even consider it here! The Dodge Monaco and Plymouth Fury had the 440, I believe it was Motor Trend who tested them. Certified at 148mph. The WL41U8A... and the RL41U8A... had the "U" code engines, the Magnum engines but with a lower smog compression ratio of 7.8:1.
This video is just wrong all over the place.
Their weight figures are waaaaaay off too. The Explorer doesn’t weigh 6800lbs and the Charger doesn’t weigh 6,000lbs. I don’t know about the Explorer, but the V8 Charger actually weighs about 4200 pounds, and with all the cop add ons and gear in the trunk, it’s closer to 4800lbs. But the Hemi’s prodigious torque makes light of that weight, only hurting its 0-60 time by about 1 second, but no difference in top speed.
Top speed is not directly dictated by gross weight
Not too many places, you could go that fast anyway
Please get real people to narrate these videos
The car nowadays could go faster if they didn’t have the damn governor on them. My 02 Toyota Camry 2.4L 4cyl would only go 130 mph on I-5 going from Bakersfield to LA. What can I say, I had a family emergency. And now my 23 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road Loves to run at 103 mph, but that governor kicks in at 113 mph. Yes I’m an old duffer, but I still drive fast. I haven’t had a speeding ticket in almost 30 years. If you can’t out run the cops, get enough room between you and them and turn down a road.
When I was 18, I got a ticket for going 140 mph in a 55 mph zone. It was Only by the grace of God that I didn’t go to jail. The fine was $997. The telephone poles looked like a picket fence. Now 42 years later if I knew I wouldn’t go to jail and the fine was less than a thousand bucks, I’d do it again ! That was a Blast and a fun memory of my youth.
You made up that story just to use song lyrics from “Hot Rod Lincoln”.
@@GMbowtie350 Now why would I lie ? In our humanity if we’re a Thief, we think everyone is a Thief. If we’re a Liar, we think everyone is a Liar. Obviously you’re a Liar.
@@Doc1855No, I think you’re lying because you’re quoting song lyrics and it’s not a believable story. What car is an 18 year old gonna have in 1982 that runs 140 mph?
@@GMbowtie350 Read it again. I didn’t quote any song lyrics. The only thing I said is that it was only by the grace of God that I didn’t go to jail & I’ve never heard a song like that.
@@GMbowtie350 It was a Limited production 1978 Pontiac Red Bird. Pontiac made a Red Bird, a Blue Bird and a Yellow Bird. They made 1,500 of each model. It had a Firebird body and a Corvette power train. The car was 5 years old when I bought it in Pasco, WA and it had 60K miles on it when I bought it. Google it. I got the ticket between Richland and Benton City. Some of us were born into a wealthy family and I had been working on local farms after school and during the summer from the time I was 14. I saved my money instead of spending it. My dad gave me some money for high school graduation. I sold my Datsun pickup, added the money from my dad and the money I had saved from working and paid cash for my Red Bird. After getting that ticket I sold my Pontiac and bought a 78 bare bones Corolla for my college car. I drove that Corolla from 83 to 02 when it finally died with 488K miles. I promptly replaced it with a new Camry and drove it until my needs changed in 11 and that’s when I bought my new RAV4 Limited 4WD with the 3.5L V6. I drove that RAV4 until I bought my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs. I plan on driving my Tacoma until I die. After my death I’m sure my wife will still be using it to plow the 5-7 feet of snow off our private road until she can no longer drive or she dies too.
They couldn’t out run my Porsche 911.
that 911 can't outrun Motorola
@@MrGreenelight No it can’t, but if you get enough miles in between and turn off into a housing tract, flip a U turn and park in front of someone’s house or in their driveway and kill the engine, lights and duck, you can out smart them. At least that’s what I did in the 90s in Ventura, CA USA
Show an Impala and calling it a Caprice.
Shit my 1962 Ford Galaxy 500 390 interceptor with 3 speed on the tree with overdrive will run 97 in 2nd gear and 187 in 3/4 of a mile try and get away from it in high school I inherited it from my grandmother it was my grandfather's car he got through the Putnam County Sheriff's Department the sheriff was my grandfather's 2nd cousin the only way to ger hot rods in them days you had to know someone in law enforcement
Those of you looking to buy an SHO should be careful because there's tons of idiots trying to pass off a twin turbo police interceptor as an SHO. They're not the same by any means. The interceptor will always have a column shift with a idle hours on the dash. The interceptor also lacks the sport mode & the shitty basic interior. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great platform to start with & bone stock is still a beast but the odds of finding a police interceptor that hasn't been beat to death is slim to none
Chief Bradley Taylor from Hazen,Arkansas has a Dodge Scatback top out at 160
Departments don’t get Scatpacks from factory lol
@@LS3_Jaden Gwinnet county Ga Sheriff's office whole department is scatpacks,
@@tavaresmccree5005 No they aren’t you fool. They all have 5.7’s and the Penastar V6’s lol. Scatpacks are the ones that look like hellcats.
@@tavaresmccree5005 If the scatpack was a police issued vehicle from factory, it would be on this list. If an agency confiscates/ seizes one, that’s when they’ll most likely convert it.
@@tavaresmccree5005No they’re not. I go through Atlanta about 3 times a week. All the Gwinnett cars I’ve seen are Explorers. They might have a Scat Pack, singular, and so does Jasper County. Lowndes country down in Valdosta has a marked Hellcat.
i question the top speed numbers here, depends a lot on the rear end gears.
