Steep learning curve? Not really. Of course you would setup your 2nd town differently because you know how things work. But that's not a steep learning curve. That's just becoming smarter at the game. The game itself is really straight forwards, especially for a city builder.

I've certainly found it a great time sink, currently trying for solo badge on Insane chaos as just completed Gaurdian on Insane 😂😂😂

There is much more. You have to find a girl. Not so easy, they have different personalities, buy them a gift, get married, have a child. Take care of them or wife can leave you. And she will take the child with her. And after you die, you can continue playing with your kid.

In winter were all fur clothes and take the temperature perk, you can change gameplay options, there is main quest and side quest, this game is a jack of all trades and it is fun. RPG stands for role playing game, and that's what you get and a lot more, it's unique all on its own from other games, there's skills for the player and NPC'S which is gameplay, then there's technology points for building, main and side quest to dynasty rep and money, smithing is the best money maker, there is gameplay options to make it progress way faster and you still get Achievements and there is a learning curve, you can build anywhere you want to just as long as it not to close to a town and can build pretty close to a town, if set the build limit to max you can have 140 buildings and there's no limit on decorations that I'm aware of. The ways you can decorate is unreal, you can build in multiple areas with village's, you can build 3 towns or 5 plus village's this game offers so much and it's still a supported by the Dev's, November 27, you'll be able name your village, have family crest, reworked combat new weapons and armor new bandit camps and much more and loads of fun playing with friends

The Reputation is not connected to your village, it's connected to the main character and through your children, when your character dies, this game is around 10GB, good graphics low buggyness, it's an RPG, builder, survival, sim, with ok combat and first and third person game, with single player and multiple player co op up to 4 friends, November 27 2024 update, with a reworked combat system, new weapons and armor plus shields, new bandit camps, think maybe bandit raids on your village because I something about your npcs could fight, here's hoping. It's a great game!

Yeah, raw Fury cooks so hard with their games. The Kingdoms Franchise, Dome Keeper, Bad North, and Townscaper. All just God-tier indies

There's actually a Combat Rework as well as the addition of Armor and new Weapons on Nov 27th. Hyped. And Clothes Dyes. Found this game a couple weeks ago. One of the best Survival Crafts I've ever played. The Writers are amazing too. Some of the random stuff Villagers say. So many References to other things. Sims, Witcher, Star Wars. Even heard a Villager yell like Arnold "Get to the Copper!" My favorite was definitely "I'm somewhat of a Village Head myself."

Good review thanks it's an old game and alot of Ex GW employees said they loved the actual game so was gonna try this instead.

It's a grinder game that actually awards you for grinding. Being able to destroy everything and collect hundreds of items just feels so good.

I want to play aom before retold eddition comes, i played this game when I was very very young I want to go through all missions again, If I play extended edition those are the same missions as in the original one?

I've ,coming back to this game for years. They need to do a good sequel it is fantastic.

The algorithm led me to a gem. Good video and put this game on my radar. Though, there's a lot of medieval city builders now that scratch the itch of a more relaxed feel. My favorite currently is Foundation. It's similarly charming and also has a speed up and down feature. Only thing us that it really doesn't have any combat. You can build forts and castles and train soldiers, but you usually send them out on expeditions. Banished, Manor Lords, Against the Storm, Pioneers of Pagonia, Farthest Frontiers, lots of variety and I just don't which is the best overall experience that's the whole package. The "fiefdom simulator" is quite the expanding field.

I think it would be interesting for you to review Settlers 2: 10th anniversary edition and then Pioneers of Pagonia in comparison to this.

Dredge is such a great game. I got it last week and played through the story over the weekend. Usually I am not a completionist. I don't mind not having all achievements but this game is such a joy to play that getting all of the achievements isn't a chore at all. I finished the story after about 12 hours and got the last achievement at 21 hours of gametime. In August there will also be a new DLC!

I wonder how you'd rate Tropico II Pirate Cove ? :D

For a grumpy gamer, you didn't hit on the super awkward, completely un-intuitive controls (which alone- despite a love for the board game & the other digital version- killed my joy for this game). Trying to climb a ladder? Open a treasure chest you see? Sorry you're going to need HOURS into the game to manage to you can attain such feats with any level of fluidity above "tripping over said object and ending your turn". For you to say it's a steep learning curve feels like a sugar-coated understatement. Like actually. Also felt like the RNG was borderline broken/random. Andyways, I'm new to the channel, and I expected some actual critical review, lol-esp from the grumpy gamer. I respected the things you highlighted, but the controls on this game alone kept a ton of players from continuing. Aka why ZERO people are currently playing this on Steam, as I write.
