HI Everyone,
I've created this channel to share my adventures throughout Australia and around the world. You don't want to see me ‘performing’ while I’m on holiday or hear me provide a narrative. There are plenty of other channels for that.
This channel is about providing raw video without narrative or music. Often at the end of a holiday you missed a shot, had bad weather or dropped the storage device (we've all been there). My video uploads may assist you, as others have assisted me.
If you like that idea, please consider subscribing to catch future videos.

At 13:53, what are the lines in the water?
That’s wasteful
And this doesn't degrade the sugar?
When it was cut by hand burning the cane burnt off most of the leafy parts and just left the cane. Fire increases the sugar concentration but it then falls off quickly so it needs to be cut ASAP. In the modern era burning is a rarity
So much to do at this port. Whatever you do, it is an adventure and memory!
How to make that fire to light the cane? Tanks
Anyone think its weird having an oriental as the speaker of the tour? I mean common.. they couldn't get a clear English speaking American? Its almost an insult to their memories.. What do you think the dead men of pearl harbor would say about that?
Hi thanks for your comment. I think the men and women of America and it’s allies fought for freedom. I assume the narrator to be a US citizen. He was a little boy living in Honolulu with has family at the time of the attack. He recounts what he saw and remembers. I’m sure they had a team of narrators at the time from various backgrounds. Our boat had many sailors and pilots as it was just before RIMFIRE. Everyone seemed happy with the personal account. Each to there own.
@@TreadmillPack Yes majority of all the men and women who served WW2 were white Americans or black Americans.. if you can recall they segregated the Japanese Americans to be cautious against sabotage. It is not a racist statement to be honest about history. Can you give me one example of a native islander serving in the Pearl Harbor fleet? If you can I will retract that statement.
This is great as long as it's not the last ride of your life.
Internet Privacy Advocate My family flew twice with Safari, at both Kona and Kauai and I’d fly with them again any day!
Great footage, I wanted to show my daughter what was a very common sight for me as a kid. Thanks
VonSutho I’m glad you enjoyed it. I was so glad when this tour developed by the local council in cooperation with the mill. I was the same; I wanted to show my children (teens) a cane fire from when it was first lit. That tour brought back a lot of memories, both the sight and sound.
Is it just me, or does the GPS in your rental car sound a bit like Troy McClure from the Simpsons?
Brilliant ! That should keep the pyromaniacs happy for a while. They do some fantastic fires up in the Burdekin too. The Ayr and Hime Hill and Giru areas. They’re all about the sugar cane. They even call their tourist ration station 97.1 Sweet FM The Sound of the Burdekin ❤️
Ben Hall for years I passed through the Burdekin when I lived up north. Beautiful place. Ayr had a great bakery too. Good times.
Another great video. Felt like being there. Which island did you enjoy most?
pressrepeat2000 Hi, thanks for the feedback and question. I loved each island as each are different. On Maui we lost a lot of day 1 due to driving highway 340. We stayed away from the large resorts on the west coast and enjoyed the beaches around Wailea. We thoroughly enjoyed Hawai’i (both sides) and have holidayed there again since - love Kina! On Kauai, by completing the ‘big ticket’ tours of the canyon and helicopter we didn’t get to feel the vibe of the island. I’d love to return to Kauai and cruise around the eastern townships.
Great video, super useful!
pressrepeat2000 Thank you for taking time to reply. I would take this cruise again in a heartbeat
Great video thanks, must visit Kauai one day.
MrRamyon74 Definitely a beautiful place which you will wish to return too. The cruise is a great way to sample each of the main islands. Thank for the comment.
Mental note do not take that road to the Blowhole, too skinny lol. Great video!
Yes it is a skinny road; single lane for approx 35 miles. Speed limit for much of it was 5 mph. The drive did provide us with unbelievable scenery. The important fact is you only have 2 days on the island and the drive anti clockwise around the top of the island took more than half a day.
MrRamyon74 I reread your comment. If you wish to visit the blowhole you will get there in less time and there is a lot to see by driving straight across the island and driving clock wise.
What port did you embark from?
Never mind, I see that Oahu. :)
You are correct; Honolulu Oahu.
A drive I have done countless times in my life.
It is something special!
Thank You very much for that valuable information.
Thanks for taking the time you comment
Hi Did you rent that car for 1 or 2 days. If you rented for 2 days, where did you park that car at night?
Hi we (family) rented a car at Maui for 2 days, Hilo for 1, and on kawaii for 2. At all locations the rental companies brought shuttles to the ship to collect customers. At the time we were at Maui the car park near the port was closed so the rental companies were running shuttles continuously to the airport to leave the car. I think it cost about $15-20 for the night. Hilo was no issue. While at kawaii you could park overnight about 300m from the ship on the side of the road. We chose to park in the small shopping center nearby which had a security guard overnight. From memory it was about $20. It was Awaya an easy process to collect and drop off cars.
Glad I could help. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places to visit or live.
These are very nice videos. Beautiful scenery of Hawaii. I was there almost 30 years ago . This brings back a lot of memories . Just didn’t realize how beautiful it was back then.
Well thank you. The cruise is definitely a great way to see the ‘outer’ islands.
I actually watched 1, 2, & 4 before watching this one. Thank you so much for sharing your trip. We're seriously considering this same trip and your videos really helped with our choice. Happy Travels!
Great job.
Thank you for the question. The Pride of America departs from Hilo at approx 6pm (it may vary with seasons) and sails close to the coast to allow passengers to view the surface lava flow from the Kilauea volcano, where lava flows currently stream out of the Puʻu ʻŌʻō vent into the ocean.
What is the name of the last excursion? The nighttime one?
It’s not an excursion, the ship sails south around the big island so you can see the flow from the port side. The ship no longer sails south because there is no active lava flow☹️
Great vid
