Story from Saunders is mostly made up. Saunders signed for Forrest from Galatasary. Story with the contract is great which if true i suppose shows that he can trust you but more importantly that you trust him. that trust would be repaid. Scottish Midfielder of the 80's Murdo MacLeod tells a similar story about signing for Celtic (he later played for Borussia Dortmund) and basically being told by Manager Billy McNeil what he was getting paid per week and it was below what he thought he'd get and McNeil just said "No, that's what you're getting paid Son, sign the contract there's no negotiation"

Not a newcastle fan but lived in newcastle all my life. Was growing up when the likes of Kieron Dyer was causing mayhem in town on a night. Even the Sunderland team used to go out in newcastle. Niall Quinn chinned my mate who was only a kid really, think it was outside Baja maybe but memory it's a bit foggy. Might have even been inside. Was there the night Shearer smashed Gallagher and also Gillespie. Always hated Dyer, but his story early on in the video warmed me up to him a bit. He was a total arsehole when out drinking, and had no respect at all for girls or women. Just meat to him.

Maybe Souey didn't really want Beresford and the medical was a get out clause. Contrast that with Keegan who made him feel welcome. Great era.
