    Some very good looking cars. Enjoyed the "noise" in the background...!!! Looks like you had some yeller friends out there. The old Porsche and Z were cool. At about 15:30, the Daytona was magnificent. I might assume it was a kit car... ???

    I recently picked up a 93 LT1 where the analog Oil Temp Gauge still "works" but shows way too low temperatures compared to the digital (and plausible) readings. Where should I start here? Replace the sensor or are there other possible error sources? Any input appreciated. Much love from germany!

    I installed a double din and speakers in my 1996 recently and your vids were very helpful. I will be installing a backup camera soon so if you did record any of that or if you have any advice on routing or where to connect to the backup light and ground that would be helpful. I didn't cut/bend my rear 6x9s - I just used one screw hole through and oversize washers pinching the edge for the other three. seems to work. I thought about doing what you did but I was too squeamish. I've already routed the camera wires to the head unit so I just need to hook up in the back bucket area.

    • @yeller95vette
      @yeller95vette 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I drilled a hole as far up in the back of the bucket to run the camera wire through to the back of the car. I just routed it along the fuel line. I used black RTV to seal up the hole where I’ve drilled to put the cable through.

    I wish you would use foam board when you have to lay on the garage floor. That cement is rough on an old guys back. Great job! By the way, I use Vette2Vette for all my used C4 parts. Jason is very customer friendly and has an old Coca Cola warehouse in Streator, IL to keep his parts out of the weather. He buys insurance wrecks, strips them and tests any electronics he sells. Not sure if you know who former Corvette plant engineer Gordon Killebrew is but Gordon trained Jason and treats him like the son he never had. Gordon used to work as an advisor to dealer mechanics when the C4 was in production and is retired now and in the Corvette Museum Hall of fame.

    I hope you belong to the Corvette Forum. It is full of tips on how to work on your car. You need to purchase a Jack A Vette device that will allow you to jack up the pumpkin by using it with your floor jack. They use the pic of mine on my 96 in their ads. Build wood "tower" ramps for the front wheels. By using these devices you can get the car up in the air much higher.

    what great timing - I'm getting ready to do this on my 96 with a non-Bose system. How did you route the harness from the receiver cavity to the passenger area? Is there an existing path? I saw you show the original wires coming out of a hole but that looked to be on the outer side, not the tunnel side.

    • @mariocooldude9092
      @mariocooldude9092 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I ran mine under the sills and then under the carpet in the rear or under the plastic trim back there just below the glass hatch

    • @yeller95vette
      @yeller95vette 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s a hole towards the front of the cavity where the receiver is I fished the wires under the carpet to the edge of the center console, and I made a slit in the carpet behind the console and pop the wires out there, then ran them behind the plastic above where the mount for the Seatbelt is and then under the plastic and carpet all the way along the side of the passenger side console and went up into the back of the radio area. I intended on using a fish tape, but I ended up just taping the wires to a coat hanger with a hook to pull it through some of the tighter spots. You can possibly go the other direction and go along the frame rail on the passenger side but I just went the direct route. Seemed to work OK. The harness from Crutchfield was perfect by the way. I just did have a lot of extra wire, because I ran direct instead of going a long way, and I did have to coil up the antenna wire a bit underneath, but with the radio I installed , there was plenty of room.
