I got a 95 auto as well i was driving hard one day and 30 minutes later i heard 3 back to back snaps and i lost power to the wheels car stopped but only moves in reverse do you think my transmission is the problem ? I dropped the pan and the fluid dark as hell but no metal pieces just a slight metallic look

How many miles do you have on this vehicle? You must have been awfully hard on this vehicle to lose third and fourth, too many hard accelerations off the line, I guess. 4L60E was not a bullet proof trans. If you planned to be hard on the vehicle, you would be better to swap out to a 4L65e or later auto trans. Of course, an auto trans is not a good setup in a corvette, you would be better off switching to the 6 speed manual and then you can really drive the vehicle the way it was intended to be driven. Never understood why they put auto trans in a car driven for sport, I guess the majority of customers who wanted an auto trans were either women or men who have no clue as to how a car can be driven when you have control of the inertial load shifts when driving at speed.

You should put anti-seize compound on both sides of the rotor hub to prevent galvanic bonding between the rotor nub and spindle, and rotor hub and wheel.

BTW, I only buy my parts from a reputable GM or AC Delco retailer/supplier. Original AC Delco parts should have a manufacturing mark or GM part number or mark. Buying a badged ac Delco packaged part from a non-GM retailer does not guarantee that the part in the package was actually manufactured by GM or AC Delco and their licensed suppliers. If there are no manufacturing marks on that unit, especially on the external surface of assembly, or sub-assembly, then it is not a GM , AC Delco or any GM AC Delco licensed suppliers. With the flood of Chinese parts into the us, it is not improbable for a non-licensed supplier in China to rebadge their parts in AC Delco denoted packaging and sell it as original retailers in the us. A manufacturer is only required to supply parts for their production vehicles for a period of 10 years post production. Sometime they license other manufacturers or specialty aftermarket suppliers to continue to produce parts for out of production vehicles. For evample, GoodYear has discontinued the production of the Eagle tires for the C4 corvette, and those tires will now be manufactured under the name of a lesser known tire manufacturer. Sometimes it is better to buy a used original part and recondition it rather. Buying a Chinese part. As always, buyer beware,

I have a 95 z07 corvette with 40k miles that I purchased 2nd hand in 2001. As a GM engineer, I service all of my vehicles myself, and, other than replacing the water pump, I have never had an issue with the optispark distributor. To my knowledge, the problems with the optispark were due to improper sealing of the unit and having it get shorted out by coolant from the weep hole of the water pump which is mounted on the engine block directly above it. When the water pump bearing fail, the water pump is designed to weep or leak coolant as an indicator of a failed pump bearings. Fortunately, in my case I caught this early, and my optispark was not affected. In your case, I would suggest you acquire some decent tools to service your vehicle, otherwise you can do more damage than good trying to service your vehicle with half-assed tools. Since your 95 corvette has an OBD1 computer and an OBD2 DLC, you might want to invest in a tech1 or Tech1a scanner that GM used with these vehicles to service all of the vehicle systems. While you discovered some dirt on the optidisk, I don’t really see as to how that would impede the function of the optispark sensor unless the optispark disk was contacting the optic light sensor eye and was either rubbing on it or damaging the eye surface. You would need to check that to confirm your diagnosis. However, you should only work on that unit wearing nitrile gloves, so that the oils in your skin do not contaminate the metal parts and expose them to oxidation corrosion. The metal parts in that unit are like sprayed with a light coat of die-electric grease, so you want to be careful about handling those parts, let alone with your bare hands. Maybe you should take a class in automotive mechanics

hey i’m going to be changing the speakers on my c4 soon since most seem to be blown out are the speakers any good? also are the connectors needed?

Great video. I have a 93 Corvette with an aftermarket double din when I bought it. Everything works fine except the antenna will randomly lower down while I’m driving. I then have to turn off the radio and turn it back on to have the antenna go back up. What could be causing this? Is it a relay or a bad connection within the rear hatch or a bad connection behind the head unit? I’m trying to problem solve with the easiest things to check. Thanks for any help you can provide.

How is the Petris holding up ? My Optispark just crapped out

Excellent information. Im working on a 1995 LT-1, backfiring through TB , rough idle ,now no start. Have injector pulse and coil is firing. After troubleshooting per FSM , i think optispark. My first experience with this engine , i own a 1990 ZR-1, and my buddy asked me to take a look at his car. I still have a couplr more tests to run , no codes at all. Thank you for making this video , im leaning towards opti.👍👍🏁🏁

That's awesome, in a C4 too....I live in Corinth, have a C4 convertable and have been to TMS many times but didn't know there was an event that you could drive the track. Yours must be a coupe, sounds nice and quiet!

I recently picked up a 93 LT1 where the analog Oil Temp Gauge still "works" but shows way too low temperatures compared to the digital (and plausible) readings. Where should I start here? Replace the sensor or are there other possible error sources? Any input appreciated. Much love from germany!
