Exploring Broome & James Price Point – Ep 04: Lap of Australia
After leaving Smithy’s and the Dampier Peninsula to remove Matt’s piercing, we spend the weekend doing more of the typical tourist things in Broome. We explore the streets, lay in the sun, sample cocktails and chippies at the Mangrove Hotel, taste the different flavours at Matsos and experience the staircase to the moon night markets.
We then drive down for another Cable Beach sunset, before setting off for the Dampier Peninsula again, this time in hope of a good camp at James Price Point with better fishing and less mosquitos.
We hope you enjoy watching!

Tested around Australia! Budget Anaconda Dune Awning Review
มุมมอง 34221 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hi! We’re Matt and Ché (pronounced “Shay”) and we’re currently travelling around Australia in our BT50 and roof top tent. If you haven’t seen our very first video, we left on our lap in a rush and much poorer than we’d planned to, so our awning was a last-minute budget buy until we could upgrade to our current 270 over 9 months later. In those 9 months we travelled from Perth to southeast Queen...
We dreamt of days like this... Dampier Peninsula WA - Ep 03: Lap of Australia
มุมมอง 2.9K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hi again! In this video, we explore the Dampier Peninsula north of Broome, camping at Gambanan and by ourselves on the beach at Smithys near Middle Lagoon/Pender Bay. We get lucky with great weather, unlucky with the fish, and my (Matt) silly mistake sends us to Broome Hospital on our last day. We dreamt of days like this in the North West before leaving, and we can’t wait for more (hopefully w...
Karijini National Park with mates - a MUST SEE in Western Australia - Ep 02: Lap of Australia
มุมมอง 1.2K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
After some quality time with family around Karratha, we drive south to what could be our favourite national park in WA. We spent 4 nights running about with our mates Dan & Rob, ticking off the best that Karijini has to offer minus hand-rail pool. We had some exhausting days, combining the Mt Bruce hike with some other gorges, but for what there is to experience here it was well worth the sore ...
Our 2023/2024 Uluru & Kata Tjuta Travel Guide Australia
มุมมอง 2K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey there! We’re Matt and Ché, and we’re currently travelling around Australia in our new BT50 and roof top tent. We’ve been on the road for nearly a year now, exploring some of Australia’s most remote locations while visiting as many of the big bucket-list places that we can. During our time in the NT (mid-2023), we made the long drive from Darwin down to Uluru for 4 nights at one of the count...
2024 Gift Guide: Our favourite gear to gift for camping or travel around Aus!
มุมมอง 3133 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! We’ve been travelling around Australia for about 11 months now, seeing as much of the top half as we could in that time. Before we left, we were very lucky to have an amazing group of friends and family that wanted to help with our trip, either giving up their time as we were preparing or with gifts, all of which we are forever grateful for. As we’re all back to that gift giving t...
Not the start we imagined. - Ep 01: Lap of Australia
มุมมอง 10K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! We were so focused on keeping this video as short as possible that we forgot to introduce ourselves. SO, we’re Matt and Che (“Shay”) and we’ve created this TH-cam channel mainly to capture our travels around Australia, but also to share anything worth knowing along the way. After rushing to get our set-up ready in less than 2 months, also including a surprise wisdom tooth surgery ...

You guys are motivating for me and to be wife to go travelling after our marriage next year :) all the best on your adventures!!
Ah that is so awesome to hear thank you! Sounds like the perfect honeymoon 😍 congrats on the engagement and enjoy your travels!!
If you purchase the gas canisters from Kmart $4.50 each that fit the Jetboil or clones its a lot more better on your wallet.
Ohhh that’s a great tip, thanks so much 🙌🙌
get angry at stuff if need to def!.. not each other if you can lol.. get some more things to chuck when things go astray.. be good part of the vids!
That’s for sure 😂 I’ll have to leave some tennis balls conveniently lying around and try catch Matt in action next time 🤣
Don't talk over each other. Just don't. Good luck with your adventures.
Haha yes we can be bad for that sometimes 😂 thanks very much!!
Climbed it 6 months ago, we started off in the dark before anyone was there and once we were at the summit we spent the day taking a lot of drone footage and photography. Descended in the dark, that would a bit tricky for anyone that wasn't a climber but we climb a lot.
best ever
Thanks!
Loving the blogs cant wait to do this myself keep going guys
@gutmincer2 thanks so much! Sounds awesome, have you got plans to head off soon?
Will be another couple of years before i go@@mattandche
@@gutmincer2 yeah nice, hope you enjoy it when you’re off!
Really helpful. We’re looking at coming over to Aus mid next year and I really want to do Uluru and Alice Springs. Looks incredible
Thanks so much! We were there around late July and it was cold in the Red Centre but so beautiful, I’m sure you’d love it 😍 if you have any questions at all about feel free to reach out! We went from Darwin right down to Uluṟu and there’s so much more to see than you’d think in the ‘outback’ haha - hot springs, quirky pubs, great swimming holes! Such a great time, we also loved Alice Springs and if you’ve got the time while you’re there we’d recommend adding the West Macdonnell ranges and Kings Canyon to the list! Have a great time 🤩
At least your still smiling 🙂Sometimes you just have to go for it, if you don't have the time for a few weekend test trips.
Haha yes that’s exactly it! We definitely wished we had a few practice runs but it was all part of the fun 😅 Gotta keep the smile on the dial and at the end of the day we are living a pretty damn good life 😄
Great video guys 🙌🏻 amazing gorges just breath taking…….your so lucky to have such beauty on your door step! safe travels 🤗🇦🇺🦘🪃
Thanks so much guys!! We really are so lucky, safe travels to you guys too 😄☺️
Super helpful info. Thanks for sharing 👌🏽
So welcome guys thank you 🙌🙌
Great info thank you…..were from the uk so we’re going from Darwin down to Lambert centre then back up and across to the Olgas and uluru then onto the mereenie loop so this is a very helpful video thanks guys safe travels 🦘🪃🇦🇺 ps new subscriber 🤗
Hey guys! Thanks so much, glad it was helpful 😄 That’s so exciting when do you head off? We did the same route from Darwin down to the red centre and also did the Mereenie Loop to Kings Canyon after! I’m sure you’ve probably heard that the Mereenie Loop can be rough, it wasn’t too bad for us but can get rutted and very muddy if there’s been some recent rain. Have a great time down there, sounds like an awesome trip 🙌
@@mattandche hi heading off from uk to Darwin july 25th to august 16th…..just waiting on the 4wd hire company. I’ve done some research on the mereenie loop so know a little about the road ie lower the tyre pressures drive to conditions and ask at kings canyon about the present state of the road. Did you go to any of the gorges along the loop ? Hopefully we’re be ok 😅 no sat nav and never driven in the outback before so it could be some adventure if not we’re perish out there somewhere 😂 Thanks we hope it’s a trip of a lifetime as we’ve spent so much already and we’re not even there yet 😂 flights are very expensive but we are going business class as we’re be roughing it after we pick the hire car up 😂 Enjoy your adventure it sounds amazing can’t wait to watch some more of your videos 🙌🏻 safe travels guys 🤗🇦🇺
@@Neil-clare so exciting that’s the exact same time we were there! Yeah that’s it, you have to also get a pass for the Mereenie loop but from memory it was only $10! You can get it from the visitor centre, we got ours from one of the caravan parks in the West McDonnell ranges! Side note - Are you planning on doing any of the West Macs? It’s absolutely magic it you have some spare time. But that all sounds so great! There’s always other travellers happy to lend a helping hand too so I’m sure you guys will be all over it 🙌 Love the business class idea haha enjoy it!! And thank you ☺️
Well put together video. We also have had some tough times to start our journey. Such a real journey
Thanks so much guys! It sure is hey, all part of the adventure 😅 happy & safe travels!!
Cool Ep guys
