Dan Does Walks
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 พ.ย. 2016
A channel where I share some of the walks I complete, on my own or with the family.
I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors and over the last year have increased my walking miles. The simple act of only having to concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature really helps my mental health and brings balance to my soul.
I usually have a route planned, but I don’t rush, I take a break when I feel like it and if I find I need to cut things short then... not to worry, there’ll be another time.

A 13 mile loop around Dunkery Beacon on Exmoor National Park in a cold overcast day. The wind was biting… chill -6.
The route visited Webbers Post, Horner Wood, Horner Water, Stoke Pero Parish Church and Dunkery Beacon.

A walk to Canada from Devon England 😳

I completed a 14 mile circular route in Honiton Devon. The route had been recorded on Ordnance Survey App, a yearly subscription, but well worth it if you get outside regularly. There were a couple of busy main roads to negotiate, but for the most part I was walking down quiet lanes or footpaths. The route had an unexpected surprise as it took me past Waldron Chapel, which had been gifted to th...

Paramo is great, but you've got to understand that it's not really waterproof, more like a super softshell that keeps you warm and comfy when wet and dries out quickly. It works best for high energy activities where you're generating lots of heat and moisture and not stopping. If you strolling gently or static then a breathable membrane shell is probably better.
@@mrfitz96 a good job I generally bash the miles out then! 😁👍 Thanks for the comment… makes sense.
Was on the fence about the jacket, been trying to look for more information and reviews, and I think yours tipped the scale for me, appreciate it Dan - Cheers from Canada.
@@willfairbrother1605 no worries, enjoy the jacket. 👍
Very nice Dan! Love the vid!
Hello,i am your regular viewer , your content is amazing. But your channel have some problem. For this, your channel is not viewer and subscriber.your video not a seo frinedly
Amazing Dan thanks for sharing
Very nice. thx
Brilliant video! Im down In Cornwall and seen my first red this year, not a common sight this far west
Red Deer in Cornwall! Great spot… 👌
Thanks for sharing your video, great job. What time of year was this?
@@dougie1325 hi and thanks for the comment. Recorded mid February. 👍
What stunning views, thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to watching it properly later 😊
The Southwest Coast Path sure is a stunner. ☺️
Nothing more beautiful than the South West coast on a summers day!
@@alanp9740 indeed, up there with the very best. ☺️👌
God damn hills.

You’ve got very good vision Dan and steady focusing too.
@@Melv245 you wouldn’t be saying that if you saw me struggling with my glasses. 😆

Ah, good going Dan. A humble fox but still a thrill and with an awesome sunset. All the best. Mark
@@WyeExplorer Thanks Mark. 👍☺️
@@dandoeswalks2019 A pleasure. Have a good weekend.
Hello Dan! Lovely video!!
@@TrailStrider909 thank you. 👍
I think a TV presenter role is awaiting you Dan. Your enthusiasm and passion is off the charts. It’s amazing to see.

❤❤❤ Cool walk mate!
Hello Dan! Love the video!! ❤❤❤
Brilliant! Gonna Leave a sub for ya my friend. Looking good!
Thank you and thanks for the sub. 😁👍
@@dandoeswalks2019 Anytime my fellow traveler!
Massive hike, well done matey 👏
Now that I live in America I can honestly say you put me to shame. I complain about walking around Walmart let alone 20 miles for fun. Your cap has done more miles than me
😆 🧢
Absolutely stunning video Dan! My heart gets going as soon as I hear their call when I’m waiting for them to appear!
Indeed, that flash of blue is very uplifting. 🙂
Nice and so beautiful video
Nice film Dan very interesting 👌
Thanks. 👍
wonderful
Cows are very cute do you always upload blog videos
the white flowering bushes are blackthorn i think. Hawthorn is later in the spring. good little video
it is pronounced Pill! I used to live there, should have walked a little bit further along river bank towards M5, we used to live in flats on river bank , first sign of spring were the Martins arriving to build nest on our flats
Silly question… so pill as in a tablet? First signs of spring are just awesome! 👍😁
@dandoeswalks2019 yes pill as in tablet
@dandoeswalks2019 I live in Sheffield now, spring is a few weeks behind Bristol but this year has been very early, 3 weeks earlier than previous years with blossoms and daffodils.
But your video gets less views if you don't do SEO properly
what is SEO? (i don't make video's)
This is much better than your previous video
Do you always photograph birds?
I’m more into walking than photography to be honest. I’ll attempt to photograph anything. 😁
@@dandoeswalks2019 good
@@dandoeswalks2019 Do you just shoot videos of birds or do you take pictures professionally?
wonderful
Hey, good going in the wind. I was out the other week loving the same. Gotta say I like to explore sources of rivers. The Exe looked interesting. All the best for the week ahead. Mark
Thanks for the comment. Check out Exe Head on a map. I always find it staggering that it’s so close to the north coast, but instead it winds it way south for 35 miles’ish emptying out in the English Channel. 😊
@@dandoeswalks2019 A pleasure Dan. I just did via google - yeah in Exmoor. Would be a great river to follow.
Dan for Major or Environmental Lead officer.
Wouldn’t be able to keep my cool. 🤣

Great walk, Dan, and the best bits were the wild-life distractions, in site of which you made it in good time for the bus! I have walked to the end of the canal in years past so it was good to review the familiar land marks, but the final lap into Wellington was new to me. So thanks for taking us with you to view the country side on a beautiful early Summer day....
The canal is certainly full of life. It’s so nice to have such a wonderful ecosystem on our doorstep. 😁👍
That's actually the West Somerset Coast stretching out to the West. Only Foreland Point in the far distance is in Devon!
Just found your video Really loved it Just subscribed 😀
Glad you enjoyed it. 😁👍
If you put videos on TH-cam don't expect the ecology to stay the same. If you like the world, best shut the fuck up 😍
Stunning views again Dan and great to hear the early spring birdsong and the red kite a rare pleasure to see (good camera work on your part). Pity about the cunning sheep posing as a red deer!! Thank you Dan a really enjoyable 19 miles (for the armchair observer at any rate!)
On reflection, I think the deer quickly changed into fancy dress! 😆
Amazing shot of Kingfisher! How did you manage not to be noticed or was he or she asleep? Cliff face looks very unstable is that ongoing and what does the future of railroad at Dawlish look to be!?
The Kingfisher was very brave. He wasn’t in the slightest bit bothered. Lots of railway work ongoing, but not sure what the end result will look like. 😁
Spectacular views Dan, considering the time of year too
It was very breezy. 😁
Lovely to see the kingfishers, Ive only caught glimpses of them. looks a lovely part of Devon 🙂
The elusive King Fisher, fantastic to see… if they hang around long enough! 😁👍
Best ever, Dan. Well done Good day, as you say
It was a very nice result. 😁
Your patient waiting really paid off: wonderful sighting. But how sensitive to the slightest sound or movement the deer are! Looking forward to your next venture soon.
Yes, the slightest movement or sound and they’re onto you! 😄
Done this walk a few times. Great views from up there and you usually have the mountain to yourself
Always nice to have the place to yourself. 😁👍
Impressive Dan. That’s a big old hike. Amazing views.
Great views and as an added bonus we stayed dry. 😁👍
Oh wow! Those deer, ponies, sheep and cow are amazing! What a sight! Really enjoyed this video and have watched a few of your others too which I have really enjoyed! Nice to come across another local TH-camr! I wish you every success with your lovely channel.
Thanks for the comment. The deer were a real treat. 👍😁
Good video, especially the Antlers spot. I don’t think I’ve seen them before, just hear of them.
A nice little herd. Suspect the antlers were “in velvet” and the rolling of the heads was the deer trying to shred the velvet off. 😁
Got him! Nice catch x
😁👍
Good video Dan. What a difference a day can make with those early morning winds.
1500 feet above sea level. The tent was shaking during the night… it had calmed down by the morning. 😳😄
