I remember when I was young watching this t.v.show back home in Gary Indiana Amen
Did they ever actually show Lars??
Cloris Leachman was a comedic genius.
That tone change when she starts reading 😂😂😂😂
Rhoda's outfit colors remind me of what I was wearing at that time. Wine red and cranberry were big for a season--- I had a knit top in one of those colors with pink thread serged on the raw edges that curled into ruffles.
“Ted… I know what I’m doing… just que me and then stick a sock in it.”
Easily the coolest television show ever made.
😂When she slips into the happy home-makeer😂
Maker
Poor Ted and Sue Ann!
❤❤❤❤😂
And in addition to everything else - Phyllis’s pant suit looked great in the early 70s and still does today (Mary’s dress too). The “avocado” oven and refrigerator are so typical of the era, which I remember quite well - the other big color was “Harvest gold” - they tried to introduce “poppy red” but it never really caught on.
Last night during Hawaii Five-0....
Chloris has been acting since the 50s! I've watched her my whole life!
While Cloris Leachman is known now mostly for her incredible comic genius, she was a magnificent actress in general. As with Lucille Ball, there was much more to her than comedy. Leachman's portrayal of the lonely, neglected housewife in The Last Picture Show is devastating in its desolation and despair. She won a well-deserved Academy Award for the role.
Anthony 's mother ( Twilight zone)
Cloris Leachman was a gorgeous lady. ❤❤❤
She was the best. Will always miss her❤❤❤
Happy 103rd birthday Betty. RIP!
🎉 Rest in peace and birthday wishes to Betty White 1 17 The experiences in her life helped her to create such a mosaic of a character. Rest in Respect
When White was being considered for "Golden Girls" they were originally thinking of her of doing a role this. I first got to know her as a game show guest when I was in grade school.
I know it doesn't seem groundbreaking today, but that 3 actresses were able carry a long-for-sitcom scene in the 1970 with no male characters WAS important. Remember "women aren't funny" thinking is still in effect today in some circles.
Phyllis should have kicked Lars out
I loved this show!!! ❤
Happy New Year to you both !
Happy New Year!!!
I watched the whole Summer including Odyssey House of that. Yep! It was The Black Queens's Beads from Barbarella. I just happened to have the Barbarella album. Flashback to court room. Cathy (Amy Levitt) decided to testify in Vinne's (Antony Ponzini's) murder trial. In order for her to remember what happened that fateful night they had to go through all of Vinnie's records in his apartment. Alas, nothing jogged her memory. THEN! SUDDENLY! This song Vinnie had left on the record player was the one Artie Duncan put on that night to crowd out Cathy's screams. He got her drunk then he was going to get her high. Was he going to rape Miss. Craig! She struggled with him over the kitchen sink she reached behind her for a butcher knife. She plunged it into her attacker. The camera cuts to Cathy's eyes in the courtroom full of tears. Poor Cathy now she remembered the horrifying truth. Wonderful character wonderful performance for Amy Levitt my favorite actress portraying her. I was 12 when I saw it. I'm 67 now. No later Buchanan story could ever come close. I am still looking for the wild music they played when Viki (Gillian Spencer) wakes up from being Niki Smith at Pete's Bar. I love the swing of that thing. No, it wasn't In A Goda Davida like a OLTL novel suggested. We're talking a swingin big band thing! Maybe they did play In A Goda at one point but not when I was watching. They also had Cathy playing it on her record player when she tried to give Julie Siegel some pills. And Julie said "Cathy! That's not candy. that's drugs"
Bette left us infinite laughter and down right snarkiness to treasure for generations to enjoy.
The perfect timing and subtlety of their expressions are definitely the hallmarks of great comedy - much like Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance. So many of Vivian's expressions were more telling than any amount of dialogue. Something you don't see today - everything is "in your face" and no subtlety at all.
One of my all-time favorite sitcom lines: "Apple-cheeked housewives bustling down the cobbled streets were swept away by slithering mounds of mud." When I saw the original airing in the 70s, my stomach hurt for hours from laughing so hard!
One of the best scenes in television sitcom history. Mary Tyler Moore just walks in and literally levels the field for the win. So good, it can never be copied.
This show had the cream of the crop, when it came to actors.
Right? And writers!
I was just a kid but I always looked forward to that show.
Sue Ann Nivens was my favorite of Betty White's roles.
No actress could deliver saccharine sweet and sour on screen like Betty White could .
all gone now ... hard to believe
Sue Ann always wore the BEST outfits. MTM was a snappy dresser, too, but Sue Ann's wardrobe was just stunning!
These gals then ended up having a rivalry on various shows, movies, and mediums for 50 years. #RIPCloris #RIPBetty #RIPMary Actual Queens of Comedy
Sue Ann was a total bitch, and a ruthless professional, who could switch from evil, to boss, to whore, to perfectly cheerful, in a flash. Sue Ann Nivens walked, so Martha Stewart could fly. God how I loved her.

So stupid to force us to watch credits force 2 minute clip. Nope.
I think that the MTMS is one of the few sitcom that stands the test of time.
Ah Sue Ann, Mary's just discrete about her love life. 😍
When Ted's befuddled, you know something went awfully wrong.
Charles Barkley shouted her out on inside the nba
This episode won her the Emmy.
When you hear that masculine voice... it's gotta be EVE ARDEN 😅😅😅😅
So many elements in this one! Lake Pontchartrain and deep dark water… I remember you sharing that story with me ages ago. I love this. Thank you.
Such good writing!
There was a wrap up if I remember. Why didn't we see it here? Why did we just cut to the chase? There was more of the end originally.
@@davidzdziarek-zl8cu These episodes were donated by actor Mark Arnold. I had to end it here because not every episode was available. Trust me, we have waited many years to see this storyline again such as it is.
Now that the Rexford Clinic is legally and officially defunct, let's all celebrate; I'll make dinner. Autumn Potatoes au gratin, and we'll bring an extra tray to Mrs. Bryson in jail. She'll be wearing it, and look nice and cakey with the file included with her dinner. Mrs. Bryson, decompose in that penitentiary cell. And Sharkey, you're the laughing stock and disgrace of the marine world now; in the slammer, from a shark to a smelt!
Loved it! Merry Christmas guys! 🤗
I wish they made shows like this today....I think Frazier was the last great one.
@@sandrakellstrom8097 I agree!
