If you have a zone whose entrances cannot all be covered by an ambient volume, is there still a way to make it work with ambient volumes? Thanks
thanks for the clear explanation 👍
does it work/ is available on mac?
Yes, of course! Just install plugdata for macOS :)
lovely ♡
Thank you!
Starting with v1.0.1 mulekick will automatically load in plugin mode. Select "Open Patch" from the main window of plugdata-fx and choose mulekick.pd. That's it! Thanks to Alexander from Wasted Audio, wasted.audio/, for the nice tip!
hm
Woah, this kick plug sounds excellent. And for free? Thank you, sir! I'm gonna have to give this Plugdata thing a go, I've never used it before. Your directions should make it go easy though.
Thanks man! Yes, the installation and setup should be smooth. Happy producing!
Thanks, just replaced mine with the original replacement pads :) Feels brand new now!
I had the same feeling with the new pads :)
Very nice tool and very good job. I've seen the new version and there is some scale definition possibility. I think they are in C. or am I wrong? Thank you for what you make.
Hey thanks! v1.1 has improved arpeggio mode and scale selector (all scales start from C). With the next update I'm planning to add transposition so you can play on every key :)
When it is put in software, suddenly a lot of noise is created and meter shows full of peak and Turns off automatically after some time🤔
Unfortunately this is a known issue 😒 What is your DAW? What's the sample rate for your project?
@@SoundCodex FL Studio , Sample rate 44100. When I apply it on any sound, a lot of spikes start coming along with that sound, just like triggering impulses in the covolver of FL Studio.
But can you transpose a pattern while it's playing using MIDI in?
I downloaded the masker but it doesn't appear on my plugin list even after successfully installing and extracting the plugin. What might be the problem?
what's your operative system?
@@SoundCodex I use FL studio 21.
@@7sneves are you on Windows or Mac?
@@SoundCodex Windows.
@@7sneves mmh that’s strage. Can you do a plugin scan from fl? In Reaper there’s an option to rescan the plugin folder.
Watching your previous video actually pushed me to consider plugdata for prototyping things. (I used protoplug before a couple of times.) Experimented with three harmonic strings joined together (using delay lines), very weird sound if my model of them being equivalent to a triangle of three strings joined at its vertices was correct. In retrospect it’s perfectly reasonable, but still. Pity we can’t model inharmonic strings by delay lines, or I don’t know how.
Hey, thanks for your comment. Good luck with your plugdata experiments!!!
Sounds awesome. I literally just got live suite so i could use max for live devices, but maybe ill try out plugdata again lol 😂 did you make the chime section with modal synthesis?
Thanks! Haha don't underestimate plugdata, the development team is doing an incredible job! Yes, chimes are made using modal synthesis :)
@@SoundCodex awesome! Ive been really into modal synthesis sounds lately
can this patch run also on plugdata?
@@GianniVeronesi-p7x yes, it can run both on pd vanilla and plugdata :)
overwhelming
yes, it has a lot of features
Great tutorial. Can the modulation be applied per voice (key)? Thank you.
Godsend
haha I'm glad you think so
This sounds cool! Never heard of plugdata, it sounds cool!
Thanks man!! Plugdata is a fantastic environment for creating virtual instruments and producing amazing computer music :)
Question: it seems that the number of bars and subdivisions is fixed. Maybe you should consider a "skip step" row of buttons such as in some Korg volca sequencers. That way it will be easier to play odd times.
Sounds like a great idea, the sequencer can be further improved. Thanks for your feedback!
Beautiful design choices in the glitch percussion, drone, and chime sections! PlugData reports its patch block size, so if your DAW has plugin delay compensation, then latency should be automatically nulled. If your patch induces additional latency, then you can use the [plugin_latency] object, to tell the host how much delay is generated.
Thank you so much! I didn't realize PlugData reported the patch block size. [plugin_latency] seems super useful, thanks for pointing that out to me :)
Any thoughts on sharing the patch?
The full patch is available on my Patreon page, it's called cyberdum!
coool:)
thanksss :)
Wow, this looks and sounds so incredibly cool. As someone who has been putting a lot of time lately into tinkering in PlugData, I know how much work goes into something like this. Definitely worth picking up for $10!
Hey, thanks a lot for your comment! I really appreciate it. You're right, it was a ton of work. Optimizing the patch for precise timing was definitely a challenge. I'm still working on making it as fast as possible.
neat
thanks :)
Super!!
Thanks mate 💪

hell yeah!!

@@spacevogel yes! It runs as a plugdata patch so if you can install plugdata you can also load wasteland!
Holy shit that's insane. I can imagine a psycore track with this
Oh yes! I'm testing this prototype these days and it is super versatile. You can range from slow tempo genre to acid and psychedelic stuff!

🤖
Thanks for teaching all of this! I'm wondering if this causes the file to be repeatedly read from disk at each loop. Would it be better to read the file only once and store it in a memory buffer?
Thanks for your comment! readsf~ reads from the hard disk and uses a small local buffer to store the audio data. If you want to make a more sophisticated audio player, maybe for real-time processing or to handle very fast triggers (drum samples etc...) you should store the audio files directly into an array :)
perfect tutorial. good job
thanks!
busque esto por todos lados y era tan simple. GRACIAS!
I'm glad my video was helpful!
Hi there! Thanks for the nice tutorial. How do you decide on the input level?
Hey thanks! There's no fixed rule. The signal's level and frequency content will play a significant role on the outcome. Begin by matching the input signal and sidechain levels.
@@SoundCodex Thank you!
Neat, a whole series of videos! 👏👍
Another FANTASTIC patch!
@@Eau1983 thanks man! This was an early Fracture patch :)
This is the final version: th-cam.com/video/qcBM4Y1-kG0/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
if I want to use it with side chain, do I have to create a bus to put the 2 tracks that I want and apply the effect in the bus?
Your goal is to equalize both tracks with a single plugin instance, correct?
Very cool plugin, thanks so much! It fit perfectly towards the end of this piece: th-cam.com/video/v1ZjDrB43Ss/w-d-xo.html. Keep up the good work!
for ableton users you have to go into your daw preferences and allow auv2 scanning - which will open a new folder in your plugin window to select the vst
I don't see the option for auv2 scanning. I have v10, is it a feature of Live 11/12?
I love that you made this video in Reaper. I was looking for a good video on what the masker does and how to use it and it was a pleasant surprise that the first one that came up was yours and it was in the daw I use. I appreciate you sir.
Reaper crew! Glad you found my video useful :)
Botanica sounds like a pointless genre, but the synth is great! Your videos keep reminding me I need to learn Pd properly but I never seem to get round to it. The synth sounds like it's pinging bandpass filters, am I right? I've made very similar sounds using polyphonic LFOs and effects (basically multichannel) in VCV Rack. I'd like to explore this idea in Pd, so I'll definitely be downloading this and having a look. Cheers!
Hey, thank you! Once you learn Pd you'll never go back because you can literally design anything. What a good ear, you're right Photosynthesis is based on resonant filters :) Can't wait to hear your thoughts after downloading it! P.S. I'm planning to upload v1.1.0 very soon (general improvement, extra features, richer "light" sound and much more). Keep an eye on my Patreon page 👀
@@SoundCodex thanks, I'll download it tonight. I have a very specific idea I want to implement with Pd, but I've only made basic effects so far. It does seem very powerful if you get into it.
Version 1.1.0 is now available 🌱
It would be nice if they added a pattern tracker sequence.
Maybe with future updates. If you join the Discord server you can suggest improvements :)
This is amazing.
Thanks, it's about to get even better! I'm currently working on its first update so keep an eye on my Patreon page :)
@@SoundCodex Even better? Ooh, I have to see that 😉
@@OneMorningSongs yessir
Thought this might helps: Botanica was invented by Alexander Panos and he has multiple Ableton MaxMSP Plug-Ins as well, probably amazing to combine with your synth! Which looks very neat :)
I didn't know that, thanks for pointing it out :)
this is wicked. in terms of features i'd like to see, maybe a sequencer for the octave and rhythm controls? that way we can create our own patterns for it. Can't wait to try this synth!
It probably can be automated in daw
At first I was aiming for total randomness, but you're absolutely right that a bit of control could be helpful. Thanks for your advice. Currently I'm working on its first update so keep an eye on my Patreon page during the coming days. Curious to hear what you think once you've tried it :)
@@DoomickthePancake For now, parameters cannot be automated from the daw, but who knows maybe in the future...
this is so cool and GUI so cute! ty for sharing this and for the detailed tutorial on plugdata:)
I'm glad you like it :)
Great tutorial! Is there a way to compare one eq curve from on instance of Bertrom into another instance, so I can match to different plugins in the same analyzer? Cheers!
Hey thanks for your comment! Yes it's possible using this fx chain: bertom eq1 eq2 bertom and following these steps: 1) tweak eq1 settings as desired 2) Set "underlay" to 1 and press freeze (upper left corner) 3) Bypass or set eq1 to flat 4) Tweak eq2 parameters to match eq1 curves Wish you a great Sunday!
@@SoundCodex yeees thank you for the quick reply! Bless you
It is best to not put your own abstractions into the `plugdata/Abstractions` folder, since it will be overwritten on the next plugdata update. You should add a new folder to the path for keeping your own abstractions in, outside of plugdata directories.
I didn't know that! Thanks for telling me :)
