How much was this as thinking about a similar project in the berkshire area.
Hi Rod, generally when extending on top of an existing bungalow we tend to advise allowing £50,000-£70,000 Plus VAT for the supply and install of the timber frame, but this is of course dependent on final specification. Did a survey have to be carried out on existing foundations?
Hi Craig, yes the client will have had an engineer survey the existing foundations to ensure they were suitable for the new loadings of the first floor.

Hi, you show at 1:10, the baseplate being fixed with a concrete nail fixing "through" the dpc, is that standard ???
Yes, there is no other way to fix the sole plates otherwise. The dpm is lapped internally with the VC foil layer and the sole plate is at least 150mm from the ground level.

How much do these cost, and how long to construct?
Hi Tara, the cost varies, we price on a job by job basis but depending on final specification, approximately £360 per m2. We have kit homes on our website with different designs and prices included which may be of interest. The timber frames generally take 2-3 weeks to install.
It looks like the steel beam is supported on the timber posts. Is that true?
It’s look very nice. I also live in timber frame house very comfortable and well heating efficiency. Please can you let me that can I do loft conversion or dorma I my semi detached timber frame house. Thanks
Depending on the design & specifications for the conversion, yes this is a possibility.

It has been a great structure. What is the program for which the building was designed, was it designed in the same program in the connections?

Do you offer completely custom frames?
What kind of glue was used for the laminated beams and columns?
They use glues called PUR1 and PUR2
I believe it stands for polyurethane 1 and 2
Not a timber frame if it used bolts and glue instead of joinery.
