Thanks for video! Beautiful tree! At what time of the season it a little bit greens up?
Beautiful tree. I was looking at Veridis, as I have several red, and two yellows. I stumbled across a rather large (about 4 foot tall) veridis and got it immediately. It is so amazing, but yes, too much sun, and wind cause it to suffer. It comes back soon after. I had one that lost nearly all its leaves, and it has regrown them within a month.
Yes, I love viridis as well. Thabks for the comment and for sharing :)
Do you keep them out of the sun
Yes, keep then out of the afternoon sun. A few hours of morning sun is great though! :)
I recently planted one. This JM is very versatile & prefers to be in more sun than shade. I’m in zone 7. Appreciate the upright habit & tends to be a vigorous grower than other maples.
Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙏❤️
Wow very unique. Leaves resembles fringes. I’m not a fan of weeping JM but this cultivar is quite beautiful.
Thank you so mich for the comment and thanks for watching! 🙏❤️
Thank you , super information and filming .
Thanks for watching, glad it’s helpful! ❤️🙏
Those seeds can cause problems in the garden 😮
Thanks for the comment. I dont mind if JM seeds accidentally germinate all over the place 🤗🙏❤️
I have one
So I ordered a sango kaku that I planted in my yard. The bark did turn red but the leaves were this brilliant shade of orange/red but not yellow. Did I get another variety?
Leave color may vary depending on the season. If the bark is red it must be a sango kaku ❤️🙏
Great content. Thanks.
THANKS!
can you exchange some seeds with me? i am from pakistan. i can share exotic tree seeds with you.
Sorry, I cannot ship live seeds as it may damage local flora.
Thanks!
Thank you so much! 🙂🙏❤️
Thanks for the nice work!
Thank you for watching and for commenting! 🙂🙏🏻
Nice acer osakazuki i have one its 3 years old now can you tell me when will my tree crop seeds by the way good video lots of good info thanks
Thanks! :) Usually when they are 6-8 years old. Mayb sooner if ure lucky :)
I bhought 11 osakazuki seeds without having a clue bout the process it have to go true. i have soked em in jar and put them in fridge but all of them are floating my question is is there any hope or sould i just give up?
Yep, they’ve probably drowned. Must not soak them for longer than 36hrs. Dont worry, dried seeds you bought were probably not viable anyways. Dont give up!
I'm thinking about buying a mini greenhouse. Would you recommend the ones you have? It's so hot here in Saitama now. 🥵 I hope your seedlings are doing OK wherever you are.
Yes definitely. But only for overwintering and early spring. Seedlings are fine. How are yours doing? :)
Where did you get those containers?
IKEA ✌🏻😎
Hello! Are Acer Palmatum Monoecious or Diecious? I am not sure I have ever seen mine flower, let alone develop seeds! I live in the UK, roughly equivalent to USDA zone 8 or 9. :D
Thanks but not sure either. :)
Hi I m looking for seed but I didn't get genuine seeds so pl cane you help me
Sorry but not in the business of selling.

These are beautiful 👍

Best video ever ❤
Thank you so much! :)
Thanks for another excellent video ….. I have a Sango, but you have inspired me to buy a second! I appreciate your videos and commentary. Q.) How will it do in full sun?
Thanks Ron! This prticular specimen is is in semi sun. So that’s what I would do.
Amazing. Thank you so much for sharing.
Mr maple my seedlings are about the same size as yours how often should i water them love all your vids i have learnt a lot from them uk
Hi Paul, thanks for your message and the positive feedback! Water them once a week, just enough to keep the compost damp. Make sure you have excellent drainage. When the top 1 inch of the compost has dried out, water again. Never soak the compost! 🍁🌱🙂
@@mapleticker many thanks
How dose this tree do in direct sun. I was looking at planting one but the place id have to plant it would have it in direct sun for 9 hours. Would it tolerate that much sun? Im in zone 7
Im afraid that is too much. Safe would be direct sun only in the morning hourse if you can manage. You can plant it in the ground in a (large enough container) and if you see leaf burn you can take the entire container out of the ground and relocate it.
Great job. Cant wait to see the development and some characteristics of the mother tree. Thanks for posting.
Check out the newest vid! :)
Hey, Maple Ticker! Are you making a second part for this video? We need to know if they finally germinate. 😂 It would be great if you told us if this was more or less successful than the ones you put directly in the container. Thank you so much for all your tips, I love your channel.
@yakofdez4698 sure I will! At the moment the ones on the fridge are still asleep. The ones outside are popping. I will make part 2 even if it is a failure! Stay Tuned! :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Now I just need to wait for mine to become trees…
Same here! But if your do it every year... for a few years it does become immediate gratification! :) Stay tuned!
That’s a true beauty ….. although I thought it is well suited for direct sun. Please comment/confirm. Thanks again!!
In geneal I would not put laceleafs in all-day full sun, only full sun in the morning.
Had to watch again ….. thanks for the video of this beauty!!
Where do you get your small pine bark from?
Im in zone 6 so every garden center has pine bark readily available. Unless youre in a teopical zone it should be accessible
Thank you. I can only seem to fine the large chunk bark. I’ll keep looking.
@@sav5477 Try what they call ‘orchid compost’ … which is actually 100% small piece pine bark
How much fertilizer would you typically put into this pot in the spring for the growing season?
I would only drop about little fertilizer 10-12 balls in it. But since I am not intending to train this into a large tree but rather keep it small it is not getting any :) This one will become bonsai and if you fertilize them the stem and the leaves grow too big to become bonsai. Thanks for your comment and stay tuned! :)
Well done on the great content, keep it up How can I contact you, do you have a WhatsApp number?
Well done on the great content, keep it up How can I contact you, do you have a WhatsApp number?
Congrats! Mine haven't germinated yet. 😥 I put it on the fridge as you said (winter is not very cold over here) but no signs of germination yet. The good news is that I do see some seeds with veeeery little roots. I hope some of them will germinate by the end of February or maybe early March.
If nothing happens in the next 2 weeks just sow them in compost and place it outside. They will come around, maple seeds are tough! :)
You cant get the same variety as parent plant from seeds. This is so called MIX. You willl get new, your own variety and they can differ in simply everything
Exactly, just like it is mentioned in the video.
How wonderful to see how much this beautiful plant can grow How can I communicate with you Can I contact you via WhatsApp?
Congrats, my own are starting too. Zone 8A but no JM's yet just some european maples, crab apples and pines.
Great video....I'm looking forward to part 2.
Got a question for you sir does Red Dragon,Katsura, coral bark, moonrise,Beni Otake, and seiryu, Ruby ridge Japanese maples have seed
Thanks for the question! ✌🏻🍁 All maples ahould develop seeds, however it usually happens to trees older than 8-10 years and not every year. Seed collection is all about luck on this sense. Also keep in mind that the seedling do not grow up to become clones of the parent tree. Hope this helps!
May I ask why you decided not to do stratification on the seeds ? As they recommend to place the seeds on the fridge for 3 months and the sow and put them outside, I am new but also confused because some people say to stratified and then sow but you are placing the seeds directly from soaking in water to soil , I am buying seed but now I al all confuse w what to do , if you could guide me I appreciate.
Thanks for the comment! Stratification is the process of cold and warm weather changing in the spring which eventually cracks the shells of the seeds open. Keeping them in the fridge is NOT stratification but rather COLD CHILLING as there is constant temperature. In the fridge the seeds eventually do crack the shells open but usually much later (April) than outside (early Feb). If you buy seeds online you should soak them for 36 hours in lukewarm water. You are best off sowing them directly in compost! I do not prefer the fridge method.
Love your videos
Thank you! :)
Or you can put them in a bag or jar in a shed or unheated garage. Or even put them I pots of compost in the garden/greenhouse/polytunnel and its exactly the same. But I guess you get more control over the climatic conditions in the fridge
Yes, actually I use the fridge in case some super super cold freezing weather hits in and kills the seeds outside.
So you don't need to cold stratify the seeds before planting them? Congrats on your beautiful trees. I love your channel!
@yakofdez4698 thanks so much! You can go either way: cold stratify them by keep the seed trays outside or ‘moist chill’ them in the fridge. Both ways work. It really depends on the quality of the seeds. Good luck and thanks again for the comment! ✌🏻😀🍁
@@mapleticker Thank you so much for your answer. I don't know if the winter is cold enough where I live for the seeds to germinate, winter is mild over here and only very rarely temperature is below 0°C, I would say most of the time it's 5 to 15°C. Do they need a minimum temperature? I've looked it up but I can't find that information anywhere. Thank you so much for your time, you're very kind. I'm really looking forward to seeing your new seedlings next Spring, I'm sure they'll be beautiful. 😊
@@yakofdez4698 If it’s that mild then you should go for the fridge method. So turn your fridge down to 4 C if you can and put the seeds in a ziplock bag like you see in the video. If you are lazy like I am 😅😅😅 sow the seeds in small containers and put those in the fridge. They will be super fine there. Cant wait to post videos of the seedlings in February!
@@mapleticker Thank you so much, Maple Ticker! I'll do as you say. Fingers crossed! 🤞
@@mapleticker is there any fear for mold in the ziplock with the spagnum moss ??
can you tell what acer trees do you get seed on many thanks good video
Thanks! :) Best seed donor Japanese maple varieties are Bloodgood, Inaba Shidare and Osakazuki in my experience. The tree has to be about 8-10 years old. Good luck!
@@mapleticker many thanks paul
Very helpful stuff!😊
