Sailing out of Baltimore, MD on August 18, 2024, we embark on a 14 day Journey cruise to Greenland, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.

Tree removal in Peachtree City

A 100 ft tall pine was removed from Village Park in Peachtree City, GA. The tree had been struck by lightning some years ago and managed to survive. It also had evidence of beetle infestation. The tree presented a risk to nearby homes and was removed by High Climbers Tree Service.

Not sure what my fascination is with Hummingbirds, but you have to admit, these are amazing little guys (and girls). Normally, I would have seen more than the three hanging out behind our house, but grateful they returned to entertain us.

Over 600 acres in Fayette County was purchased for $153.8 million in 2022. When completed this can be as large as 7 million sq. ft. of data storage and office space. This short video shows the enormous size of the project.
Hot Tub Delivery 07-11-24

A neighbor bought a hot tub and had it delivered today. An interesting delivery indeed. Watch as it is hoisted by crane over his house and placed in the backyard. Radius Lifting did a terrific job maneuvering the tub up and over the house.

For several months, there has been tree clearing and major dirt moving behind the Hoshizaki plant on Hwy 74. If you have ever walked or taken a bike/golf cart ride on the "Stinky Trail" multiuse path, I'm sure you have seent the work going on. This short video is a look at what's going on.

Alaska Cruise on the Carnival Luminosa May 16-23, 2024

This has been on our bucket list for some time. Flew into Seattle, WA on May 15th, a day before the Luminosa sailed for Alaska. Weather was a little cold in Alaska, but tolerable. Rained in Juneau and some in Skagway, which is to be expected. If you haven't been to Alaska, this is a great way to experience it.

This 6 day cruise was somewhat of an afterthought. We booked an 8 day cruise on the Vista last year for March 23rd and decided to add this 6 day cruise sailing on the 17th of March to make it a back to back. Glad we did.

What equipment did you use for filming? Going on the same cruise tomorrow . Flying to Seattle tonight. Any suggestions? Thank you .
Most of it was shot using a Insta360 X3 camera. Also used my Samsung S21+, and two cameras by DJI - Osmo Pocket 2 and the DJI Action 4 camera (similar to a GoPro). All the editing was done with Cyberlink's PowerDirector 365. Take enough warm clothes. We could have had more layers. At the Tracy Arm Fjord, sign up for the smaller vessel that gets you in close to the glacier. That was a great ride. In Ketchikan, if you intend on eating salmon, do it soon after you get off the ship. We waited too long to eat and could not find a restaurant in time to dine. Hope you have great weather and a fun trip.
@@tomross6375 can We Use DJI Mini 4 pro drone while on vessel? .We booked that excursion. Also we booked white pass summit rail and Yukon suspension bridge . I packed 2 rain jackets and 2 pair waterproof hiking shoes 😜 Is there any formal nights I went on few cruises but always to the Caribbean or Mexico. Not sure if in Alaska people dress nicely to the dinners .Thank you
You can bring the drone on the ship, but not launch it on the ship. If you do, it will likely be your last Carnival cruise. Depending on where you fly on land, you should Google it for each port. No flying in State or National parks. Have a great time.
What camera did you use on the overhead shots? Looks like a drone, but I can see that you said no drone was used.
A 360 degree camera by Insta360 model X3. Yes, with the right editing it can simulate drone videos
Just returned on the 20th...and must say i was impressed with the food,i have been cruising with Carnival for over 40 years...not enough time in Victoria and the walk to down town can take an hour...weather In Juneau and Skagway was perfect,Ketchikan was cloudy...My biggest problem was Carnival and their wine packages and tried to bait and switch with cheap wines...I ordered 2 five bottle premium package,and made sure and ask if they had The Duckhorn decoy and Kendall Jackson Cabernet in stock,and was told yes..well on the second night at the dinner table,they had one..earlier i went to the dining room was told non was available,so i took a Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir to consume in my cabin...did not like it...on the third night at the dinner table,they said they ran out and went to the Steak House and brought two cheaper wines,i did take one,but next morning i went to customer service desk and asked to speak to the wine manager,and told her i want a full refund,she said she would check to see if she can locate a few bottles....Really? she called my cabin and said she found two bottles and it will be at the dinner table that night.....well all of a sudden at the dinner table,the assistant wine manager came over and informed me they had both wines in stock...I have been in the wine business for over 50 years..Only two wines are worth the $40.00 they charge for each...the rest are inexpensive wines for under $10.00,a huge mark up for Carnival.The two wines i got sells for $20.00-$25.00 at the wine store,not a huge profit for the line....reason they tried...

What were the shows on your the trip ?
The V.I.P. show, Flick, 80's Rock show. All very well done. I filmed the Flick show, but lighting wasn't the best.
Do you know how often they change the shows ?
Shows usually stay the same on a ship. What Carnival does is move ships around to get those shows to different ports.
How is Aruba going to be going there in December ?
Aruba is so far south, you shouldn't have an issue with cold weather. Also, will be cooler than the summer heat. Have a great time.
Working on a video of our 8 day Southern Caribbean cruise this week. The shows were terrific as well as the comedy venue and piano bar. Hope you have a wonderful time.

@@tomross6375 Excellent weather! What type of camera and/or drone do you use? I would like to invest in a beginner model to take on my hikes and to film my hummingbirds.
Most of the video is shot with the Insta360 X3 360 degree camera. Drone shots I used a DJI Mini 2 drone. The Insta360 X3 does a great job but requires a bit of post work. Check it out on TH-cam. A lot if videos demonstrating the camera.

It's a beautiful area to ride. I like the trail. I've done most of the trails in Florida over the years but I'm not sure if I ever been there. Is it inside the Villages?
The Villages has miles of well maintained multi use paths. A wonderful place to ride a bike.

@seankinsey4619 We don't live in Rhe Villages, but visit a few times a year. When we ride, we typically stay on the multi use paths. There are many miles of them, and it's growing exponentially. Not sure when my next video will be.

We did. Several shows I did not put in the video that were also incredible. This was our 22nd cruise on Carnival and probably the best sailing experience so far.

A guy in St Thomas named Darren MIdas was playing steel drums in a parking lot and was selling his music. I bought a couple of his CD's. He is a great musician. He said his father taught him how to play. Wish I had bought all of his CD's. Have a great time on the Celebration.

just got back from a trip on the pride and i have to say that I was very disappointed. couldnt stomach the food, late to every port, then 6 hours early to debarkation. The staff were rude and ignored us. The Main dining couldnt get anything right. Our toilet was clogged the whole time we were on the boat. I'm glad most of you had a good time but, I will never be using carnival again
Sorry to hear that. We're on the Celebration now. In Puerto Rico on our way to the rain forest. New awesome ship. 6300 passengers 1800 crew. Great crew, food terrific. Our balcony room is very nice
