STOP ADVISING PEOPLE TO PUT GLUE DOWN THEIR DRAINS
Sick dye job! How do I get a custom foil stamp like the one you use?
That Daily Bread in the background made the perfect soundtrack
You just leveled up my Dying! Thank you very much!!!
The spiderman mask killed me! 😂
Can you do this using a lotion dyeing method and get similar results?
How long do you let the dye sit in the bed before you drop it.
What is your mixture ratio for the idye on glue beds? Is the pink you use Idye or Pro Chem?
Awesome 😎👍
Love your work!!
Is the acetone and glue bed combo okay to go down the sick afterwards? How do you usually dispose of beds after
Why do you feel it should be done without heat lamps? I started last night and my design and bed looks great but it’s faded after washing. I’m only doing it for a few hours under a heat lamp. How can I make it more vibrant and make it stick?
What are your thoughts on white glue? I’ve done two already and the colors are really light on the disc and I’m having trouble with air bubbles leaving white spots on the disc. Any advice? How do I get the colors really vibrant and popping through?
What kind of glue are you using? Can you tell me a list I need I want to do this right now lol
I’m using pro chem onyx and it spreads like crazy I can’t seem to get a thin line to save my life, I don’t know if it’s the glue I’m using or my ratio of dye to acetone. Any advice?
That’s amazing ❤❤❤
I love your content and am glad to learn that you will be contributing more on this channel! I'm pretty new to dyeing and want to learn more and get better. I've done about 10 discs now with pretty good results. My question to you and anyone else who wants to chime in is, Is there a shelf life for dyes that you've mixed with the acetone and water? It's been a while since I've tried a new disc (about 8 months). The last time I used the dyes, I found a fair amount of build up in the droppers that were in the bottles of dye. It was a bit of a pain to clean the droppers out to the point where I could use them again. Thinking that using the bottles with the dropper caps isn't the best move. Also, my black Onyx seems to come out more purple than black. Any insight there? Thanks Chris!
$20 dollar retail discs sold for $50? You making money bro, no need for a front. 😮 keep it real but not too real otherwise people will poke holes in ur story. I’m sure YOU may feel like ur not making money. However the average consumer that’s having to deal with these prices would all beg to differ. Reality of the situation, you wouldn’t still be in business after all these years if you weren’t making money.
5$ canvas sold for thousands of dollars and hung in museums, how dare they. That's what you sound like lol
i don't know why but when i try to do this my dye kinda cakes up
Did you say "Safety Third?" ???
Hey Chris, what's the FB page for discgolfdyes?
Awesome, look forward to it
This sounds awesome, can't wait to see what's coming soon!
If you are looking for ideas, then I have one for you. You kept mentioning the name Keith as your partner. If that is Keith Lempa you are talking about, I would love to see a video of him doing a lotion fade job using the sponge technique like he used on the Kastaplast Vass disc that was posted on October 15. The video would include lotion mixing and heating methods. I think that the concept of using lotion in that fashion is very intriguing, but there is much more to the story to pull it off correctly.
Excited for the future dude!
"Follow me for more parenting tips"...hilarious, lol. I hope this short means there will be more videos coming soon! <3
Lol
This dude is busy I hope I get a reply,...is there a standard measurement in inches for the depth of a glue bed that you prefer?
I got it, I just found it in some of your content. My bad.
New to the channel and if you have covered this in another video I am sure I would find it eventually. Have you experimented with either heating the glue up or chilling the glue to change its viscosity? I have been thinking of starting to dye disks and these wood grain ones are beautiful. It just got me thinking what it might look like or how it would change the appearance if the glue flowed differently when you added more to the bed. Please keep up the tutorials, and showing of the skills. Stay safe brother.
That's a great idea! It doesn't change too much as far as my style goes. I do notice a difference in how easy it is to work with in the summer vs winter.
How long did it sit without heat?
24 hrs should be fine
Looks amazing!! Can’t wait to try it out! Also, super excited to see you posting again!!!
Plenty more on the way. Changes are being made ;)
@@discdyeingdotcom very exciting stuff, I’m the guy that talked to you on the phone the other day about centering! Just got all my supplies from you and Home Depot so I’m going to try out my first disc this weekend!
That is an insane looking dye and what a great technique! Keep it up man. Love your content.
Thank you!
Dope!
Was going to be dying my Berg next, as I'm finally dying up my whole bag. Thought it would be hopeless but I have a lot of faith after gleaning from your trial, error, and success. Thanks, so excited!
So first try and no bubbles, still surprised myself. Only thing was the dye drifted to one side and stretched out while compressing the farther side. After reviewing the video again I believe I simply took way longer placing the disc down in the bed. First time so was being real careful plus my K1 isn't transparent, still huge success, thanks so much!
So glad it worked!! Yeah i've had it stretch my designs also.
Honest question: Why did you remove the the background when removing the scales, just to recover the background afterwards? Wouldn't it have been easier to keep the background and just remove the scales?
I dont remember, id have to go back and watch and see what my process was.
Could you please link or let me know what brand that hot plate thing is used for the hot dip? I'm not even sure what it's technically called to find them online. Thanks!
I got that at walmart for like $30
About to give this a try!
Have you ever tried a second dip with a new disc in the same glue ?
Not with the same dye. But yes you can definitely reuse glue.
Love the dyes maybe you’ve covered in a previous video but my neon colors (cerise pink/ hot orange/lemon zest) don’t mix well with the acetone and aren’t giving good saturation
I usually have a good bit of sediment at the bottom of all my mixes so dont be afraid to go heavy. Also these color do work a bit better with heat.
Totally serious with the Dino head on like it’s not even there. Lmao
Not going to lie, I get excited when you were going to talk about Jesus 😎🙏🏻
Can you tell me about that stamp you use to put your logo on your disc? Where did you get it?
That turned out sick! Love it!
And it loves you ❤️ 😘
So no one noticed the hummingbird that made its appearance in this video? I sure did
Oh shit! Good spot!
The Acetone doesn't take the stamp off?
Nope, not in a glue bed style dye. But applying the acetone dye mix directly to the foil will take it off.
I tried a couple of your tutorials and I am having trouble with my dye separating and having empty spaces. How do I prevent that? Am I using too much water in the mix? I don't understand
hmmm, possibly? I dont know much about how water affects the application as I don't add water to my acetone mixes.
Another new technic to try. So I tried pinkish red, fuchsia, neon Royal purple, teal blue, neon key lime. We'll see. One thing to add. Use an ultimate disk and not a pie pan. The pie pan is really too small for thos technic. Also, lay the colors down quickly so that they don't spread out too fast. Awesome tutorial as always!
Awesome! I hope it turned out great!
Have you ever dyed a putter? I want to dye my Zero Medium Pure a single color because it's the popular white with a black rim, and looking for any tips.
Unfortunately base plastic rarely takes dye and if they do it will fade incredibly fast.
I see that you used a floetrol bed? Is that correct?
Not in this video no
Your videos are EPIC dude! Great content to learn from and the personality to keep coming back for more. 😂
I've knew about the brewery in Roscoe, but didn't realize there was also a costume shop in town. Very nice work.
😉👌
