Cool TH-cam, iam same frame of mine as you , i have a nc 2011, and drive her year round, she undercoated and looked at every year and topped up as required. But i get stick having her undercoated, the mx5 club saying you won't sell it ,as you hiding damaged or rust having it undercoated ?. But she 14years old and many cars have rusted away ,but she still going strong ?. So for me go undercoat your car , and a good paint protection (ceramic coated) and you cannot go wrong. Will be following you on your journey with your mx5 ?. Brilliant

I recommend you take out the arch liners and remove the rubber grommets. Then you can inject corrosion inhibitor into the box sections as they rust from the inside out.

Whoever tuned this is a good tuner 8200rpm on a 99mm stroke, not like every other tuner who thinks a k24 should be rev’d to 9k+

The engine is the 150 bhp 2.0 16v abf from the mk3 golf, the mk2 had the 1.8 16v kr which had 139 bhp.

Inner sill's rust badly and water leaks into the boot through the roof rails, handbrake usually doesn't work,oil leaks from engine usually VTEC solenoid,rocker cover or crankshaft pulley seal or timing chain inspection cover.Also suffer from starter motor sneeze, usually in winter,drop link's and wishbones usually need replacing,rear coil springs corrode badly and the rear crash bar crumble away due to rust and the boot floor usually has bad rust and behind the rear speakers and rear arches due to the liner trapping moisture.Fun car to own and drive but due to age need a lot of looking after and money spending on them.I own a 2006 premier edition.

Does your iat isnt high from the air filter being back there ? Mine is in the same place over the shifter mecanism, i think getting it away close to behind the headlight could be better for a colder air intake temp and with minimal bend of the tube
