Cape Town medics responding to a person collapsed | Bothasig
02 August 2024 - An afternoon after grabbing lunch for the crew on duty a call came through for a adult male that has collapsed at a local bar in Bothasig. Thankfully the man sustained no injuries from his fall but did decide to go to his local GP privately for further care.
We all respond differently, in SA drivers are known not to move out the way so we respond more aggressively.

Trying out a new way to record the response driving so excuse all the shakes. Motor vehicle accident, 3 vehicles involved patients with minor to moderate injuries. We all respond different, in SA people don't move out the way so we tend to be a bit more aggressive.

Some drivers are moving over but you will get that in the uk nowadays where someone can't see blue lights. Must be blind!!!

These videos are great to watch. They can also show what not to do when an emergency vehicle comes behind you with lights and sirens. Keep up the great work you guys do!

It’s like these drivers lose brain cells when they hear/see an emergency vehicle, the state of South African driving is shocking, our roads are ridden with idiots/taxis😂😂

What a bunch of clueless and unresponsive motorists. That, or they just don't give a crap. Is it always that bad there??

Yes. Pretty much most drivers are like in this video. You get the occasional people who care and move over but most just dont care just like in this video.

What eventually may happen is that one day, a motorist who habitually couldn't care less about disregading an emergency vehicle, will one day be in the back of such a vehicle being delayed by selfish ignorant motorists needing to get to the ER rapidly, thinking....' Now this is what its it's like'

Wow! There were a few drivers that reacted pretty well, but the general vibe very much seems to be to give zero fucks about emergency vehicles. It must be very taxing and stressful to be an emergency responder in such an environment.

Wow, I hope to never ever need an ambulance, but if I'm ever unfortunate enough that I need one, I just hope I'm not in SA 😅 Absolutely appaling lack of care / awareness.

Selfish people who only care about themselves and where they want to get to. I see it time, after time, after time. Or they're just plain stupid and shouldn't be driving a car.
