I like Fedora OS because it's supports windows formated HDD .
Any distro can work with Windows FS. Just install the ntfs-3g package and mount the partition... But do all distros have that stupid dnf package manager?

I use Nobara 40 for gaming since 5 weeks. Nobara works fine for me. Two weeks before Nobara i tryed Mint22 but it is hard to configure to a "gaming distro".

Isn't endeavorOS basically manjaro, without possible internal conflicts due to manjaro's practice of holding back packages/releases? My shortlist would be: If in doubt - Mint If confident with tech - Arch If gamer - I haven't tried popOS, but I'd personally recommend Garuda, which I'm using now myself. I agree to some of the criticism here. This video is just a broad feature list of some big distros but it doesn't explain why a Win 11 user may want one or the other. Plus, there are better suited beginners Linux distros then, let's say, Fedora. Try harder with the next video! 👍

The advent of AI videos and removal of the dislike button have lead to tons of spam videos like this filled with false information and flat out intentional lies to encourage engagement. If you're truly new to Linux be careful of videos like this. Not getting what's promised in the video is a 100% guarantee. You can break your system and interrupt your work flow following their advice.

Linux Mint is okay . If you like to tinker use LMDE and set your repo's to testing or sid. For me it just worked good in early 2024. PopOS (Ubuntu 22.04) is old so its not up to date as you mentioned. New PopOS is coming but its still in testing. Not for daily use! I would avoid Fedora since Red Hat is doing IBM things. Last but not least. You can use Manjaro but dont set AUR to anable. Pacman will ddos the AUR repo's. Use their own repo's.
I've been distro-hopping for years. I still use Windows 11 as my main OS. It just works while on Linux you need to do lots of things manually to make it work like you want it to.
I have a different experience. I Updated my daughters laptop From Win11 22H3 to 24H3 and this went with a bunch of problems. Firefox and Chromium stopped working. Only Edge browser worked (ofcourse its windows) Multple game launcher stopped working etc. Second. This update tooked ages. Approximately 1,5 hours. After this I was thinking how long this will take on an old machine with Garuda KDE lite on it. It went from the first KDE 6.0 relase to 6.2 in 10 minutes on an AMD 3200G. More then 1400 packages took place without any problems. Yeah all my other machines runs CachyOS and I never going back.
@@blueeyedbaer Most people prefer windows 10 over win 11. The first time I used WIN11 on my Lenovo x365 it messed up my battery life. I had to roll it back to the previous windows.
@@markdevaal4116 - Actually many Window 11's user complaint is that it will virtually hostage your own laptop or PC and prevent you from doing things you were able to do before, coupled with the fact that the desktop environment is the least customizable. In addition, most of the apps in its store is available with a few bucks while in LINUX, about 98% are free. Lastly, Windows 11 is part of the throw-away culture that forces its wanna-be-users to discard their old investments not equipped wuith TPL 2.0 and runs with a 7th gen processor or lower, and lies that it can run well with just 4GB of RAM - with all the bloatwares it loads up on startUp.

Hello: Interesting your video, however I disagree a bit on the chosen distributions. It seems to me that Manjaro and Fedora are not the most suitable for a Windows newcomer as they require a bit of effort from the novice user. On the other hand, it strikes me that you have not included Zorin Os, which, from my point of view and personal experience, has everything necessary for a Windows newcomer to feel at home.
