While Peter Cullen will always be *MY* Optimus Prime since my first ever exposure to Transformers was the first 2007 movie, I love Garry Chalk’s as well and he is my second favorite Optimus Prime voice

Gary Chalk was MY Optimus Prime, and of course I am a fan of Peter Cullen who is like Kevin Conroy as Batman. But Chalk is VERY underrated, and it's a shame that he hasn't returned for anything in Transformers.

One idea I had for Jhiaxus was the idea of him even starting as a Terran, a child prodigy in thematic, growing cynical and bitter at the flaws of those that came before, convinced, like many teenagers, that he has nothing to learn from the past. upgrading himself into the more familiar from and trying to Hijack the Emberstone.

I really wish they'd start adapting old, lesser known major storylines from tertiary media like old comics. Jhiaxus, the Liege Maximo and the Underbase sagas are all things I'd like to see get adapted.

I love ALL Incarnations of Optimus but Unicron Trilogy Optimus is who I grew up with. That's my Optimus and he does need more love. I don't like that Peter has to be the be-all-end-all of Prime actors. Let others shine. I gotta see Gary voice this guy again someday! You voiced a lot of my concerns and thoughts very well! I totally agree. Gary Chalk's performances were always of somebody rising up to command rather than being born into it.

I hope he plays Optimus again at some point. He has immense passion for the characters of both Prime and Primal. He deserves it

Interesting. I'd always suspected the concept of "Primus" came about because they needed an explanation for why Unicorn wanted the matrix destroyed.

We finally get both optimus's on screen together but not their voices.

I always considered them both as Optimus but from different takes. Peter Cullen is the war hero Optimus, and Garry Chalk is the super hero Optimus. Both fit the character but the delivery in that characterization is different and makes them unique without betraying whats established.

Cullen and Chalk both do amazing renditions of Prime. Cullen represents the more traditional, the more grounded in values father figure kind. Stoic, but caring if necessary. Chalk’s Prime is more of the cool uncle that you admire and want to be like when you grow up.

even though nobody replaces peter cullen david kaye is a very close second as all his optimus's were great (except for beast machines primal, he was so bad im pretty sure gary said that he didnt like the potrayal of him in bm)

It is a worthy sequel because the '86 movie was poorly written and so was this comic book story.

Garry Chalk IS an amazing Optimus. If Peter Cullen wasn't around anymore, I'd daresay Garry is THE Optimus. I'll always resent Hasbro for not allowing him to do more with this franchise--especially in Rise of the Beasts.

RID15 desperately needed Jihaxus as well. He really would’ve tied the show’s ideas together if he was the central villain instead of Cyclonus’s council

im sorry, but personally, i say FUCK EARTHSPARK THANK GOD THAT THIS SHOW IS ENDING they just dumbed down the best characters in the franchise, and they made OPTIMUS PRIME a side character to highlight the new characters. I wouldnt have an issue with that, if they actually made the characters interesting. they dont really have traits, theyre just gimmick characters. theyre soulless. and honestly we all know the only reason why megatron is a good guy is cuz he would kill the fucking terrans in the first episode. this show doesnt even seem to have a clear direction, shits just happening until the finale. Sure, there are kinda character arcs, but they barely show the effects of those arcs on the characters, if not at all. but i agree that they need to add Jhiaxus. this show needs to have something else unique about itself other than forced new main characters. your ideas are also very good, and i would have loved to see this. but unfortunately, like i said, the shows ending. hopefully the next series does better.

This is the Optimus I grew up with. Wish he could come back as Optimus.

There's been a few crossovers with both Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal. Why they didn't bring back Garry Chalk for Primal, I will never understand.

The feeling that I always got with Chalktimus was that he wanted to be a fun, joke-cracking, father-to-his-men type of leader, but his men always take him waaaaay too seriously and have too much respect for him to go along with it

I thought the Quintessons created Unicron and Prime when they couldn’t control Unicron, they created smaller Autobots and Decepticons with what little metal, resources and energy they had left after creating Unicron and Prime. That’s why they used big cannons and big ships to fight Unicron. The Quintessons got into their ships abandoned and fleed when Prime and the Autobots and Decepticons were losing to Unicron. Then something interesting happened Prime went against his programming of self survival, sacrificed himself to defeat Unicron the first time causing Unicron to hurdle uncontrollably through space. With Primes last breath objectives. He transferred his memories and information into a matrix of leadership since Autobots are a descendent of Prime they can use the matrix of leadership, Decepticons are a descendent of Unicron. The rest of what was Prime became Cybertron the planet. Which the Decepticon & Autobots made home they inhabited fighting over the planet’s scares energy and resources of Cybertron. Then this all leads to G1.
