I was outside (couldn't get in, I think it was contest winners only?), to this day I can't believe I was this close to seeing them or that this show actually happened. Thanks for posting this
Loving my comment after 10 years? How have you been? Lol.
Comments Are timeless😊
@@tristanyoung1247 Indeed. 😊
the best age
Best versions of Sinking were from 86
I was 16. Tripping my head off on a purple pyramid acid tab. Every rain drop turned green with all the lazer beams. 1 of the most amazing times I ever had 🤪
Still my favorite version!!.... Still one of my favorite songs!!!(...as the years go by!!!)
Peel sessions version is crazy
I was there 😀
Envoutante cette music . . .

Hi! What show is this from originally?
From the bbc. th-cam.com/video/tdEALPvl_4Q/w-d-xo.html
One of my best memories... a thunder storm came through the lights magic night...
32 years old and still timeless
I remember trippin my box off and watching this.unforegtably biblical storm and one hell of a gig.
I have the whole gig on tape , recorded via the BBC .. must see if I can find it and listen again ..
Jonathan Vogel if you find it please share 😎
Loved the early Glastonbury but to commercialised nowadays and to much pop music for my liking but I will never forget all my experiences with all the band's I've seen but this Cure gig was special, fantastic atmosphere and great band, band's.
microdots, two I believe!
Man I love all y'all stories of dropping at Glastonbury circa 1986 but I been a Cure fan for a LONG time and I'm here to tell ya ... this ain't from 1986. No way. I know what they sounded like then, and this ain't it. This is from WAY later. Peace out y'all ...
It is 1986 Glastonbury version 🎧
I was camped right at the front of the main stage 18 years old double dropped some Galactic Starlight and totally made it watching the rain through the lasers, unforgettable memories
This is extreme!!!!! WoW!!!!
fucking good
wow...fantastic version
one my favourites of the cure and from the head on the door
change the speakers
Philips Legend 1 = FB 710. 6 ohm, 50-90watt rms, sensitivity: 88DB.
Speakers sensibility?
pure nostalgie
Andy Rankin (drummer, The Pogues) got us backstage on the friday and I stood at the back of the pyramid stage when Ruby Turner played. Crowd looked amazing - you wouldn't pull stunts like that these days. Went again in 1990 (four years later) and it was fucking shit!
th-cam.com/video/KFLDpy3NnOQ/w-d-xo.html
the heavens opened when the cure were on ,but it was so atmospheric looking up at the rain glowing in the stage lights THEN BACK TO THE CAMP FIRE FOR MORE FUN ALL NIGHT LONG
and i am always under water
in orange please
+Eduardo bracamonte alvarez go check out my google page has a couple of performances from that show
Ahh...memories! I was 19 and this girl next to me couldn't see the stage and she said she was The Cure's biggest fan, so I stuck her on my shoulders...I wonder what she's doing now?
I think that was me. Still short! I'm a teacher now. Thank you for being such a gent! Carol
Doubt it Carol... but wouldnt that be fun? Declan, she's doing some guy that wasnt such a pushover.
Loved it,Glastonbury was great then, now it's shit with Kanye West there this year, good knowing you Glastonbury, now your just another corporate music festival, nothing different at all anymore. The housemartins played as well, what a great week end,but the cure were something special.
I was 17 back in 86 and at my first Glastonbury. Will never forget The Cure and the rain and thunder all come together for an unforgettable experience. Camped in the field next to the main stage for the weekend. Glad I saw Glastonbury when it was still real
+Adi_B I'll second that! I was 22, it was my 2nd Glasto and I'd found an Access All Areas pass! I spent three days backstage, playing football with Billy Bragg, talking to Robert Smith, Porl Thompson, Mark King (Level 42)... Had a ball!
+Valérie Malafronte Sounds like you had a great time too ! Still love the Cure to this day ;o)
1974 from Poland!!!!!
It was my first Glastonbury too and absolutely amazing atmosphere - the thunder and rain and no-one moved - it made it all the more special - will never foget it.
My first Glastas too in 1986. Also 17. The approaching storm clouds and lightning from behind the stage as A Forest echoed out across the valley is probably the greatest spectacle I’ve witnessed musically. Even to this day. I wish I’d had the guts to tell Robert myself when I found myself filling up my car next to him a couple of years later in my local petrol station in Chichester Sussex 😂😂😂👍
hey,immer noch, :-)
I remember this night so well, the rain was throwing it down but the music form all the bands was sensational, so many fantastic groups played what more can you ask for???
Lots of speed, acid and a blowjob in a tent behind the mixing desk from a girl I didn't know...but the lightning was fucking amazing, and they were a great headline act that night...
Wow! Memories. Not particularly a Cure fan, but they were absolutely brilliant! I remember some ageing hippy shouting "Its the end of the world, man" as green lasers and lightening lit up the Pyramid stage! A perfect night ! Thank you for posting :)
If you are a ' The Cure' fan or not, one should be able to recognize that the band has created it's very own universe. They are absolutely unique and they never made compromises just to be popular. One has to respect that. They made it their way. A thing that is very rare these days. I listen to a lot of music, from classic to death metal but in the end I always return to The Cure because for me they are the perfect mix off all types of music that I like. I like classical music and from all modern music I know, they are the band that comes closest to the best that classical music has to offer. And just like classical music their songs have the quality to never become old. They sound today just as fresh as 40 years ago. You can play their music with a string quartet and it changes nothing. Listen for example to the Lovecats played by a string quartet. i think music history will threat them better than their contemporaries because I believe in 300 years from now people will still listen to The Cure. I am not so sure they will still listen to for example Michael Jackson...
How i did it (short version) I have a backlight installed with a piece of 6 mm Plexiglass Acrylic. First i sanded the plexyglass to diffuse the light from the LED's. I drilled 4 mm holes in the side ( 2x 3 ). I put the bright green 3mm LEDs in the holes and gleu them. Put a white sticker on the back of the plexiglass. Then I carefully removed the white sticker on the back of the LCD-display. Plexiglass fixed with tape and put everything together.
Nice work ! I can also see your HF-150. Have a nice weekend & 73 !
this was my birthday song for many years...I'd get trashed then turn this up either in the room or using headphones if I got to it late at night.
