i got one of these at a thrift store.paid $9.99,,missing hard drive and optical drive..inserted a hard drive,,im running windows 10 pro like a boss om 4 gig ram..have ordered the optical drive and 8 gig ram!! this isnt junk..at all! even has 10/100/1000 ram,,mine is the higher functioning cpu 64 bit machine

this was my favorite laptop back in the day. the extended battery kicked it up to like 12 hours runtime.

I was gifted this laptop a while back, and I'm currently in the process of upgrading it for school work. I have it running in Linux mint Xfce and it works pretty well. Thinking of upgradding to a ssd next

This Extra TV theme song during Maureen O'Boyle's era was used from February 1st, 1999 to September 8th, 2000. During second half of Season 5 in early 1999, this theme is a rearranged version of the 1997 music for the 3rd time, but it uses a different key. Best throwback theme by the way, along with that logo where the "X" was inside the blue circle.

How did you manage to find this? I found a bunch of Global music (2006-2013) from Joe Seto over at NewsMusicPlus years ago but older tracks like this one are hard to come by.

Actually this was used until 2001 when they switched to an updated version of the "Flashpoint" theme with a shortened introduction (with only Carlos Amecuza, Giselle Fernandez (who replaced Barbara Beck in May 2001), Mark Kriski and Sam Rubin credited), whiles the News @ Ten continued using the original with an abridged intro as well.

Prior to the Global News local theme song in 1997 until 1999. This news theme song entitled "Total News" is only used for newscasts from independent station CKVU-TV in Vancouver, British Columbia in the mid-1990s under the titles "U. News at Six" and "U. News at 23 : 30" on the on air station brand for CKVU-TV as "U. TV".
