Nice Malibu 2! ✈️ Nice flight!🐉🪰👍 Nice area! Sweet video. 😁👍
Where's this, plz ?
@@wuffos Its Grandy, North Carolina on the outer banks. A little airfield we call the Cotton Gin. Thanks for watching!
Nice flight!
Hell yeah!
@@LukeRobinson-je2pw love you!
Nice video!
@@rogeriolopes6297 thank you so much!
so cool
nice flight..smooth air..never done the tow flight..mountain foot launch mostly..thankx for the vid
thx for the majestic views!
How are you doing
Dud! You need to fly with shoes! Barefoot is for dunes! I’d say you’re taking chances! Hey at least you got a helmet on….
Non si vola con questi mezzi , in giornate così ventose....pessimo esempio direi... Saluti dall' italia previdente !
👏👏very good bro
@@jocagarcia45 thanks man! Really appreciate it!
Super.How your harness name ???
It was made by Greyfit in California. Thanks for watching!
This the coolest thing I have seen in quite a while. Wow.
Well thank you so much for watching! I know I sure think its cool!
Ataboy! 😊
Thanks man!! Really appreciate it!
Now that much control is really impressive! 👍👏
Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
Scary sink and turbulence at like 600’ to ground … way to save your landing gear. That was a long tow
We almost always get some chop down low so Im used to that but I should have compensated for the possibility of that wind gradient. I was trying to land closer than my first flight so I wouldnt have to carry the glider so far. Completely my fault. Thanks for watching!
You're all good - didn't even break a down tube! Happens to pretty much everyone at some point. My .02¢ (I haven't flown since early 2000's, was H4). Flare was weak and non- committal. Even if you have a bit of extra speed a nice strong flare will put you upright and in control. Looks like a beautiful spot, I used to love aero tow flights. Tug you right into a thermal and off you go.
Yeah, I just had to clean the dirt off my nosecone. It was a trashy air kinda day. Most of my landings are no steppers. Thanks for watching!
❤ good sharing ❤ be careful ❤
❤ I wish flying with you ❤
You are more than welcome to visit North Carolina and fly with us!
@@Charles-Buddy-Close thanks so much ❤ my dear new friend
❤ good job 👍
Hello Charles. What happened in the last moment of the flare? Why did you lost your balance? I am asking because something like this happened to me but unfortunately I broke my wrist. 😔
Just as I was rounding out in ground effect I flew through some lift. Probably a small thermal breaking loose. I of course pulled in so as not to climb. I think I failed to account for the added airspeed and thereby flared too early. The left wing apparently had a little more speed and got lifted. From there the glider got ahead of me and slamming the nose down was inevitable. The wind was very fickle all day. I probably should have just put it down on the wheels. Thanks for watching! I hope your incident didnt turn you off from flying...
Ah no !
Yeah...not my best work.
We hope you are well
Yes. Im fine. It looked and sounded much worse than it was. Just got a little dirt on my nosecone. Thank you!
Hola en que parte del mundo se efectuó ese vuelo
That is the outer banks of North Carolina in a town called Grandy. Thanks for watching!
The very first thing on your mind as soon as you land should be secure you parachute safety and Unhook from the glider. You might thank me one day. Don’t ask me how I know hahaha. Luckily I didn’t damage my glider but far less possible damage if you are not connected when she rolls over. JS Hangintheair I mean hang in there. lol
Good advice. Thank you.
How high are you flying ? Too risky you need a least two million dollars life Insurance to over
I released from the towplane at about 2500ft on that flight. I have 1 million dollars in insurance but its liability only, lol..
nice flight! 2 questions: 1) what was towing you up? 2) was it ground sheer creating the sink?
I get towed by a Dragonfly ultralight airplane and yes I suspect it was a wind gradient but honestly I was trying to land closer to the takeoff point out of sheer laziness and should have come in a bit higher exactly because of what happened. Thanks for watching!
Yes good landing but so much field to take advantage of for safety. You were probably in sink on the backside of the thermal you flew through. I noticed a little turbulence when flying over the LZ closer to the ground. My single surface won’t penetrate well and I have been caught sinking like a rock when pulling in for speed upon landing and sometimes I don’t move out over ground, just come straight down. Not good when not planned. Stay safe and enjoy! Where is location??? Im in Dayton Ohio right now and am flying vicariously with you until I am off grounding lol. Medical reasons. Fellow bird brain.
You are absolutely correct. Thank you. Btw that is Grandy North Carolina in the outer banks. Thanks for watching!
I’m so considering learning AT! You look so relaxed on tow. Thank you for sharing!!
I would REALLY love to see you do that! Im going Saturday. Come to cotton gin if you can. Even if its just to watch. Also, I really hope you watched the first flight from that day. It was really perfect beginning to end. My favorite landing so far! Way better than almost hitting the grapes and scaring a dude into jumping in the ditch! Lol
@@Charles-Buddy-Close I think you are doing amazing buddy!! I was planning to come out this Saturday was going to call Johnny tomorrow but I came down with this sinus cold… I might have tomorrow postpone it… but I’m still thinking. Ya I could still watch and learn. What time do you plan to be there?
Awesome flying and sweet landing Buddy, hope to catch up with you at the Gin sometime this summer!
Thanks Nick! I sure hope so too! Im gonna try Saturday if the forecast holds...
If you stick a 'dead cat' over your mic the wind noise is killed... nice flight!! 👍
A good landing is one you walk away from. No cuts or bruises.
And no damage to the wings! 😁
Nice flight and landing, very enjoyable. Watched by 86yo ex Hangie from down under.
Thank you so much! I was pretty proud of that landing.
Thank you! I always mean to edit in some music but never get around to it. I use youtube more as a logbook than a channel. Thank you so much for watching!
I like these kind of HG videos where you show the whole thing from start to finish and without music.
Thank you! I prefer it that way too so I can relive each flight as it was...
How it's flying without engine 😮
Its pure serenity in smooth air and an exhilarating challenge in thermaling conditions. Thanks for watching!
@@Charles-Buddy-Close Thanks for the explanation.
Gotta carry enough mana potions with you. He must have forgotten to resupply.
Dream for me
Why are you dragging a line behind the dragonfly?
Because it is a tow plane for hang gliders.
Cool as a cucumber, what was that, that broke?
The weak link at the end of the bridle broke. Likely because of the turbulence. Its pretty common but this was the first time I had to deal with it.
@@Charles-Buddy-Close well you could've fooled me, good to see your ok.
داشتم فکر میکردم اگه سیمها پاره بشه چه باید کرد . کنده شد 😂😂😂
What could possibly go wrong? He still aloft
Good job
Thank you!
Сколько раз я вам говорил, китайских вещей не покупать😂😂😂
Also.. dont worry peter pan. That's just your shadow hitting the ground before you.
Nice. We weren't meant to fly but ain't it just the coolest?
It SURE is! 😊
Well done good flying.
Thanks Freddy!
solid
Thanks man! Appreciated.
If every flight was like that, where do I sign up?
At Kitty Hawk Kites. Lol. +1 252-441-4124
So cool.
Thanks man! It was a great day of flying...
Lol loved how he casually got off and walked away as soon as the UL stopped.
let's caveat that, landing a single surface hang glider is fun and easy too..
Granted...Im too old for topless bladewings!
👍yeah mine too 👌
Thanks for watching man...I love your videos! I watch em all...So jealous of your locations! And Bensound is great music...
