Can you do a video about how to replace the cables please?

Do Gates, make allowances for a the weight the bike i.e. a loaded touring bike.

Wow...what I lifesaver. I had a rear wheel rebuild, switched out my handlebar, etc., and when I got the bike back together, the gearing was totally off: I could only access gears 1-6 on the shifter, and those gears didn't correspond to the "actual" 1-6. I thought I had really screwed something up somewhere and was not expecting anything like this straightforward solution. Bless you for sharing/posting this!

Great video - thanks! I'd really appreciate a similar instructive video on the reccomended procedure and step by step guide for changing the gear cables on a Raven Twin with cable splitters and and Ex box Rohloff hub.

Internal gears typically switch relative to the cable tension & position. Its more obvious with a remote shifter like on the handlebars. The old 3 speeds had a site window to center the cable tension on 2nd gear, pulling it either side of center for 1st & 3rd.

thanks! I had some trouble getting 13 shifts and hence 14 gears out of the shifter box, asymmetrically tightening one of the cables via the tensioning screw worked out in the end.

Thank you. I was envisaging cables going twang and bits falling on the road! Nice design and nice demo.

My brand new Rohloff wouldn't go into 13th and 14th gear, I followed your instructions to the tee (after a failed attempt) and now they work perfectly....Thank You!!!!.........just make sure you follow her steps exactly, I put the cap on before I rolled to 14th gear and it didn't work.... I rewatched and did it perfectly. your video is much appreciated :)

Its a pleasure to see a well oiled machine in action. And no, I do not mean the bicycle. Thank you team Thorn. Every word on the excellent Thorn service rings true.

HUGE thank you - I've developed an issue where the Rohloff is only giving me 13 gears and this very short video (plus the other one of yours titled "Problem with Rohloff gears") has told me more than all of the 15-minute long videos ever managed to do. I do think some mechanics (like computer nerds) make it more complicated than it needs to be sometimes. So, thanks for keeping it simple!

Thank you for the clear and concise demonstration. I'm having trouble getting Gear 14, so this will be my first port of call. I love my Rohloff, but the cable box (X-box, as you're calling it) always seems to give me grief every time I remove the wheel and replace it. Twist shifter is also very "waggly"

Hey, I have two wires one is black and one is white. It connects to taillight but in which order, there is a plus signal and ground signal on the rear light, which goes where, I tried both ways and it doesnt work, could it be that wires are disconnected somewhere...

It’s easier if you don’t loosen the pinch bolts too much. Just enough to move the eccentric bottom bracket is enough.

you can either try pushing the rear wheel back or try to remove 1-2 links but if its too tight it may also cause problems, i recommend using a chain tensioner you can find them pretty much anywhere and they are usally Universal.
