    The grainy black and white photos in Helter Skelter made them look old, but now we have more, and clearer footage, you see how young they all were. Just young regular people building careers and having fun. Jay looks about 12. Voytek in the book looks like a middle aged man, he was only 32 and other photos show it. When they're all out in the garden in their swimwear fussing over Sharon's baby bump. It's so sad, it gets sadder every year, a crime that came right out of the blue in that beautiful setting where Sharon flew kites and played with her dogs. The whole world shifted that day.

    I heard that Sharon and Jay were working on the divorce papers from Roman and were planning their own marriage. Maybe that's why he looked so happy on those last photos with Sharon, which were possibly taken on their last afternoon together, before they were murdered. The film was found undevelopped in the camera after the murders.

    When you think about it, we all have gifts and vocations. Here was a hairstylist. Not the kind of job that saves the world from nuclear attack or sets entire nations free of their cruel leaders. As is the case with a great baker or a fine chef, the fruit of Sebring's efforts usually didn't last long before he would have to cut the hair all over again. Yet, he transformed his his humble craft into an art that people took seriously. He brought joy. He made people feel good about facing the world. He took his talent and opportunity, and he elevated it into something inspiring. We can all do the same. We might not become famous or rich doing it (and probably won't), but at least we can try to be as good as Sebring in whatever is our craft.

      But it just gives even more meaning to the phrase..."All is Vanity"...you make cutting hair into being as important as being a fine surgeon, etc. His personal looks clearly gave him an edge in his career...look where it led to!

    • @timward3116
      @timward3116 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@curbozerboomer1773 The fact that not everybody HAS the natural ability AND opportunity to be a fine surgeon does not mean that they can''t, and shouldn't, use what abilities and opportunities as well as they can. And a haircut of any kind is a lot cheaper than brain surgery - so it isn't as though brain surgeons aren't paid proportionately more. I was happy to see that you did qualify surgeon with "fine," though. Certainly, an excellent barber IS more important than a high-priced, malpracticing brain surgeon. Regarding his looks, it probably didn't hurt his career... but it may have helped less than you might assume. Regarding where his success got him, there are a lot of people who didn't have any sort of material success and who, as a result, found themselves in a circumstance that resulted in their murder. Your comment just smells of arrogance, bitterness, possibly false piety, and maybe even some baldness.

      Same. Born in 64. I have a tiny handful of memories of my mum who was very young when she had me, taking me and my brother to London on the train. She loved the King's Road and especially the Biba store. It was safe enough that she would leave us at this psychedelic cafe sitting at the counter with her friend watching us. There were trippy murals all over the walls and 5yo me would gaze at them in wonder. The Biba store had a staircase with mirrored walls on each side so your reflection went on forever. 60s London was a trip even for small kids!

I'm not sure how long she was a Social Worker in LA but she had become discouraged with working with so many hopeless drug addicts. I believe dating Frykoswki was the 1st main catalyst in her tragic death with him trying to become a major drug supplier of a new party drug called MDA. The 2nd main catalyst in Abigail's death of course was the Manson Family who were hell bent on murder because a little man told them to follow his orders.
