Dr Ryan Thomas Williams is the course tutor for the online DBA programmes at Teesside University, and an honorary associate at the University of Liverpool. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
His research focuses on incorporating technology into pedagogy. Ryan is also interested in contemporary issues related to research methods, such as internet ethics, and the ethical implications of using artificial intelligence for data analysis.
Ryan’s research has been published in business and social science journals, including Research in Post-Compulsory Education, Practice: Contemporary Issues in Practitioner Education, Frontiers in Education, and the Berkman Klein Centre at Harvard University.

What is a PhD postscript?
This was helpful, but para vs non still seems subjective… especially in small samples sizes. I can’t figure out which category my data falls under. Like ages at disease diagnosis between groups…?
This is a good question. You can check the normality of data visually by using histograms. If your sample is really small, I don't think you can make an assumption that the data is normally distributed, thus, I recommend a non-parametric test.

How should you do analysis for categorical data then?
For the male/female example, frequency and percentage tables should be ok in most instances
Do not forget that we have Mode, Median to use not just Mean.
