All I Do Is Eat Hot Chip On Gold Stakes: Plasma Deck! Balatro Finale!
VOD of me beating Gold Stakes difficulty with the Plasma Deck! The various stakes in Balatro add numerous challenging effects that drastically reduce your consistency in putting together a stacked deck and increase your scoring requirements. With the Plasma Deck, the Chips and Mult that you score with your hands is balanced, i.e. the two numbers are added together, split in two, and then multiplied. This leads to higher scores, but the blinds are also twice as large. To get the most out of this deck, you either need to stack only Chips or only Mult, which will effectively square your score. While on lower stakes it's easy to put together a crazy X Mult build and get it to endless, on higher stakes you have a lot less leeway in the final antes and it's much harder to consistently find the tools you need for that while still surviving in the early game. + Mult sources are also pretty bad unless you can find x Mult as well, which makes consistency even worse. We get our final win using the Wee Joker, Stuntman, and Brainstorm to acquire enough Chips to beat Ante 8, with a little help from Mr Bones.
This is the last of my Balatro runs I'll be doing on Twitch! I am planning on doing a Gold Stakes Joker Tier List in future once I collected all of my Gold Stickers and beaten Completionist++. If you want to see more Balatro content on this channel, feel free to like the video to let me know.

Excellent info. Thank you for this.
if you put the vent on the floor it will delete co2
super insightful, thank you. When do you think is the best time to travel to the second asteroid through the teleporter? It feels like everytime I wanna go there it feels like I'm restarting from the beginning again :/
Usually I go to the second asteroid if I feel like I'm missing an important resource, geyser or critter from the main asteroid. This could be a refined metal volcano, a water source, or perhaps a biome with a critter or resource that you need to make your base work. You can go with one dupe and set up a rudimentary base where they survive on just foraging and use the dupe to shuffle resources/eggs back to the teleporter.
Jeez having lit workspace for the cooks is like giving them 3 whole levels up
This is the best puft ranch I have ever seen. The new critter droppers allow you to control the types of pufts in each room even better and allow automation without the doors in the upper rooms. Squeaky got top chamber. The floor in the center of the middle ranch is mesh tiles with deodorizers. Under the mesh tiles are a row of airflow tiles covered in water. The bottom ranch has a floor of airflow tiles (dropped 1 tile to keep the ranch size with the lowered ceiling). My polluted water storage is under the bottom ranch. Polluted water off gasses into the bottom ranch for pufts, and the deodorizers pull clean oxygen for the dense pufts. The deodorizers are run by atmo sensors helping to balance the pressures of polluted oxygen and clean oxygen. This setup allowed me to ranch them early (I left bleach stone in the top ranch temporarily) without piping gasses until I had the infrastructure up to do so. I have endgame supplies of bleach stone and oxylite, and a population fed by puft meat and mushrooms before I have my industrial zone set up. This is a fantastic build.
Very nice suggestions
I really like this tamer, but I have an issue with it. When I load my game, I get about 90 grams of petroleum next to my crude oil blob, stopping the dropper from moving the hydrogen. Luckily, I had just built your sulfur geyser tamer and used the naptha trick to break in and mop up the oil without blowing my 180 kg per tile of hydrogen to the ether. Have you seen this, and if so, do you have a remedy or alternative build that works on game load? I am also using your natural gas tamer room and have seen a tile of steam appear on game load, but that usually works itself out.
That's interesting, has the crude oil been getting hot or is it cold petroleum?
@@erisia_gaming Bothe crude and the petroleum are at 125 C. It's not just on game load now, it can happen in the middle of a session. The last time it happened I noticed that the liquid vent had overpressured from the 1000+kg/tile hydrogen. I begin to wonder if the vent gets blocked for a short time from pressure, then hydrogen burns off and releases a large blob of petroleum. Which makes it a large storage but not infinite. I might try to squeeze in another atmo sensor to force burnoff at 900kg.
Having auto sweepers move the oxylite so then the alveo veras had an easier time getting more co2 was a good idea
i use my co2 for food storage lol
I think it was worth mentioning that plastic tiles is great radiation blocker too
can't wait for that serie, heard so much on your other videos
This honestly looks like a fun way to do super sustainable. Do you know whether hot refined copper fresh from copper volcano is safe to eat by slugs & wont exchange heat with surroundings in critter feeder?
The copper will absolutely exchange heat with the environment before the slug eats it, refined metals are very conductive. You'll need to cool it first, ideally using a steam turbine. But yeah I actually did this in my super sustainable speed run, although I just fed them all of the cool cobalt ore instead.
You are criminally under promoted on youtube.
May I suggest the episodes be in order for the playlist :)
Sorted!
I often use smog slugs in rockets, they don't need power and free up building space otherwise needed for pumps. Not as relevant in the late game when better rocket tech is unlocked but really nice for early rocket designs.
Any of the researching skills are a little better end game nowadays due to geotuning and whatnot
For the wild pip planting, if you drop a piece of sand onto a flower pot, and let the pip plant it onto the sand, you can copy the settings of the flower pot and let crop plants be in flower pots so you aren’t limited by the space pip planting takes up while keeping them wild. It doesn’t work for plants that require liquids though.
What about a setup that uses incubators?
45:33 I think you don’t need the or gate since you could just connect the 2 sensors and send that to the other and gate input for the same effect.
To further maximize productivity, use 7 dupes, all with balloon artist trait. Give them 5 slots of downtime, and have them in your main base with access to your main recreation room. They'll give balloons to your regular dupes and boosts stats even further.
Yes you can do this. The main issue is that the Pajama dupes need to be positioned near the Printing Pod for this to work and you may already have a lot of nearby infrastructure that would prevent you from housing your Pajama dupes there. If your dupes have enough Athletics that the longer travel won't disrupt their sleep then go for it.
Hi Erisia, thank you for your videos. Please consider making a video on ranching using hatches as your example with 8 hatches per ranch and multiple ranches. (If already done please send the link) I ask as I struggle with food and critter calculations and need your expertise. 1)How do I calculate how many ranches can 1 powered incubator keep stocked? 2) is the following setup enough: I run one powered incubator on high’ish priority and a cycle sensor (on/powered on for 10% of a cycle to give ranchers time to lullaby the egg). 2 Ranchers. The eggs seem to maintain their buff to last the rest of the time the incubator is off. Could prob add a cuddle pip in there somewhere. 3)do I need a pickup point next to the incubators or are the drop offs in the ranches enough? Or maybe you know of someone who has discussed this already? Cheers
Hi! I made a video about Hatch ranching about a year ago (th-cam.com/video/NjkEP_kmaO0/w-d-xo.html). Some of the automation wire positions will change slightly due to the drop-off changes but the build still works. I don't typically use powered incubators, I just wait and let the population grow naturally. I did a lot of Hatch ranching in this playthrough (th-cam.com/play/PLDZl4oCCkpN0d-C4goMwCW9rtNSuQXC8E.html) and the dropper design works pretty well until you get into stupidly large numbers, where it can start clogging a bit, and you will probably run out of rock at that stage. But you can can run multiple ranches off of that design pretty well.
@@erisia_gaming Thank you so much. Will have a look!
How do you get the "eruption average" output ? Is it a mod ?
There is a mod "Geyser Average Output Tooltip" which I use (steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2460637426), but you can calculate it by just taking the eruption flow rate and multiplying it by the eruption period. I just use the mod as it's handy being able to look at it at a glance instead of whipping out the calculator every now and then.
37:00 it’s often referred to as the tile of interest
Using the turbines room to cool down the outgoing solids is a genius idea. Specially since it's going to need active cooling anyway, with or without the solid output.
Longhair slickster seem to me to be the "Mid and Late Game Budget Abyss Bug", high Decor, can be used everywhere within the Living Quarters area, doesn't create any Byproducts, desirable or not, to "Polute" the decor of the living space, live for enough Cycles to be worth something in a sense, and that's it. Though they usually are undesirable because one Popping on a Normal Slickster means your Slickster ranch has COOLED TOO MUCH. Abyss Bugs are a Pain in the ass long game planning from Early game to Mid, IF your colony can upkeep the food to progress that Evolution all the way, then some more to feed them expensive and/or non-renewable materials as food to upkeep. Longhair Slicksters are the budget, no intense headache alternative of it, just pop one excess slickster on a ranch cool enough for a Longhair egg, then pop that sucker into the Living quarters and call it a day. That's all I can see why Longhair slicksters were made to be as they are.
The term for those flooded SPOMs are hydras. The other typical type of SPOM is usually classified as a Rodriguez
Hail Hydra
Very interesting layout, i generally don't use soggy spoms so I'll stick with the regular half Rodriguez design. I'm planning on using grubfruit preserve for food myself which is on a separate line so that i can drop small amounts of food every now and then and have the line reset. Also the dupes don't have enough downtime to use that jukebox, so they don't get the buff :b And speaking of jukebox, I'm more than certain that thing fried the conductive lines since spoms usually uses at least +800w consistently xD Biggest reason not to use this for me is that it's another 2kgs water drain. Water can be scarce, unless i boil the saltwater geyser >:)
Honestly, I think it is overkill. Given the 25% stress reduction from the Somnium Synthesizer you don't need beds, bathroom, or mess hall for sleeping dupes. Lock them in a small room with a mesh tile floor to deal with waste, O2 vent, food drop-off chute, and a sweeper to collect and deliver the journals. Scrub them of all skills. On normal stress level, as long as they have enough O2 and mealwood they will be perfectly happy eating and sleeping on the floor and peeing themselves as required. Give them excellent food and you can easily get their morale over 20 if that is important to you. The Sonmium Synthesizer truely encourages dupe abuse.
The Somnium Synthesiser causes a breach into the Rimworld dimension. :D
Does The Somnium Synthesizer assist with training other dupes using a Gym?
I don't think the rate at which duplicants gain attribute points changes based on temporary buffs, but I honestly have no idea. Would be interesting to test this.
At least the 5+ science does help accrue skill points faster
I wish morale affected speed of dream journals generated, so you get more reasons to max out different recreation buildings In later game I often do long voyages to space pois for artefacts and such I give my pilots pajamas since they only need to wake up once in a while for piloting.
That's very clever, pilots don't need athletics.
Hey man, I've learned a lot from you, cheers.
3:00:00 lol, did the same this week but realized WAYYYYYYYYY too long after it started, almost killed my run
Can the auto sweeper use the pitcher pump to load the ice maker? I remember it can load the bottle emptier.
Sadly not. I think there is a mod for such a thing but I won't be using it.
how do you get the filter destroy tool in sandbox ? mine destroy everything
I use the Sandbox Tools mod for this. It also lets you place Geysers, Artifacts, Story Trait items, etc. Very nice mod.
That was a crazy good run!
Ok, but one question, how do you deal with steam overpressure? Nuclear meltdown occurs at 150kg per tile. If your adding water constantly… it will end bad, right?
Great point. Once the pressure gets high enough for your liking, you would divert the Steam Turbine output to the Research Reactor input instead of using an external input. 15:06.
Can you use the liquid tepidizer trick instead of an aquatunner? Also did you make this on any of your streams? I might attempt this but its easier if I have a live example of this with the usual mess ups dupes do.
If you have another means of cooling the Phosphorus down to solid debris (such as dumping the liquid into a Frozen Core) then you could use the Liquid Tepidiser trick, but it will need to be made of Steel to not overheat. The Steam Turbines will self-cool either way. Some active cooling is needed to get the Phosphorus to solidify as it won't at Steam Turbine operational range. I didn't build this exact setup on stream but I did build an earlier version which worked pretty well: th-cam.com/video/qvcL9BgNo8U/w-d-xo.html
@@erisia_gaming I see, thanks!
3:13 Drecko can eat from Planter Boxes. They dont eat them horizontally , unlike Farm Tiles, rather vertically.
This also got patched with the Frosty Planet Pack I think, so they should eat from Planter Boxes now. Very nice.
should turn these into videos along side the streams, feel like you could make some great content out of the just the progress
Thanks! I've made some videos in the past summarising some of my earlier playthroughs (this was a good one: th-cam.com/video/tUxhRIEComM/w-d-xo.html). I really enjoy making these but generally the amount of interest in them compared to the amount of time required to edit them is not high enough for me to prioritise this over just making more progress on stream. If I get more time I may put together another video for the Flipped Farters playthrough. Generally if I had more time I would put together more edited videos.
Okay, I like this, but what about just using a germ sensor to cycle the same gas through until the germ sensor reads sub 10k? There's no manual adjustment that way, and you should see increasing efficiency the longer it runs without any human interaction.
This also works well if you have Plastic for a Germ Sensor!
Just feed them 65g/s After they are powered up fully.
Truly one of the runs of all time ☹️
Noita science 🧠
I usually avoid picking vomiters due to their potential to f***-up liquid locks. No fun in rockets either. Binge eaters can be problematic too if alone on asteroids or in rockets. Destructive dupes used to be able to destroy spacefarer module's outer walls. Luckily, this has been fixed some time ago. Great tip wrt to the renaming! Thx.
For me, tuning a Sulphur geyser doesn't seem to be worth it. the amount of material you get from an untuned geyser will far out shadow any small ranch setup. after a hundred cycles + you will have tons of Sulphur. Maybe if you want to wean yourself off hatches or feed the Angry Tree for the resin this would be a great way to go strictly for the meat. If you want to ranch for the dirt its not worth it at max ( after eating sucrose) the Grubs give you 12kg of dirt after dupe labor or cooking the excreted mud. while Pips give you 20kg of dirt. with no labor involved. in my 1600 cycle run i have a small ranch strictly to get more grubs to drop in my farms to get the grubgrub Rub.
Where did you get those cute dupe faces from? They remind me of the style from Pokémon Shuffle.
They're from the Supply Closet in-game where you can customise the dupe's outfits!
After you talked about Misprint telling your what the top card in your deck was, I was expecting you to be dealt the Seven of Spades in your next hand, but that didn't happen. Did I misunderstand how this works, or has it already been patched? 20:25 - 21:33
I checked my other run after this where I got Misprint and it didn't work then either? Maybe they HAVE patched it out? :(
Are the chip stickers on the jokers from a mod, or is that vanilla?
It's a setting that they recently added to the base game!
@@erisia_gaming Thanks!
A bit dismayed to see the dupes that subjectively are the most productive in my colony that low (Ashkan, Gossman, Bubbles and all-time favourite Travaldo, who always saves the day!). Also - I'm always surprised by English-speaking TH-camrs who don't invest 10min to find out how the names are actually pronounced and give it at least a try (Jorge is not pronounced the same as George and the Ls in Camille are silent ;-) )
