Trigs Tackle Travels
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 25 ม.ค. 2022
Hi, I'm Trig and this channel will document my fishing travels as I try fishing around the coastline of Northern Ireland.
I got in to sea angling in early 2019, not long after I had left the RAF and moved to Northern Ireland. No doubt I'm going to make some mistakes along the way, but if you are new to fishing then why not join me and we'll experience the highs and lows of sea fishing.
Expect fishing vlogs, reviews, rambles and maybe the odd session in the shed!

Old King Coal....fish!!!
มุมมอง 566หลายเดือนก่อน
Great lure fishing at Garron Point followed by losing rigs fishing the bottom and pulling in the dogfish. Lost a few rigs and wind caught the camera breaking the mic :( #fishing #coalfish #dogfish #seafishing #lurefishing #fishingireland
Night at the Dogs

Filmed at the end of August, a pleasant evening back at Waterfoot. Dogfish were plentiful and kept the rod tips bouncing! #seafishing #northernireland #beachfishing #fishing #fishingNI #dogfish
Bitten at Cushendun! Damn midgies!
มุมมอง 6473 หลายเดือนก่อน
A social trip with a few club members to Cushendun. Original venue was Ballycastle but high surf and lots of weed saw our first casts getting pulled out and baits hidden by the sea lettuce, so we upped sticks and dropped to Cushendun where the seas were kinder but the midgies were biting! #seafishing #northernireland #nifishing #cushendun #beachfishing
Fishing Yorkshire Coast on holiday - Cayton Bay and Filey Brigg
มุมมอง 2.4K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Had a recent holiday on the Yorkshire coast and managed to get a couple of trips in. Little flounder from Cayton Bay, then put the tourist gear on and made the climb at Filey Brigg to fish the rocks, landing a pollock and a wrasse. #seafishing # wrasse #flounder # pollock #filey #cayton

Flatties at Waterfoot

Early start and back to Waterfoot. Wasn't the intended mark but managed to pull out some small flatties before being disturbed by an arrogant swimmer! #nifishing #waterfoot #plaice #fishing #seafishing

Fishing Waterfoot beach with the North Cost Specimen Hunters, 13th April 2024. Some rough weather conditions and slow fishing but beat the blank and even finished on the prize board! #flounder #seafishing #northernireland #dogfish #seafishinguk
Seal scares the fish off!

Fishing with a bad back at Portmuck trying a new bait. Started off well and then the bites suddenly turned off, I'm blaming Sammy the seal who decided to come in to the harbour and pop his head up!
Browns Bay in February

Returned to Browns Bay a couple weeks ago, nice and close so saving the petrol fare! Hurt my back so cant get out at the moment, hoping things improve soon. #seafishing #northernireland #northernirelandfishing #fishing #brownsbay #whiting #flounder
Waterfoot Beach January 2024
มุมมอง 65310 หลายเดือนก่อน
The first weather break in the New Year saw almost every fishing mark along the coast populated by Anglers. Waterfoot beach was quiet so parked my gear there and got down to fishing. Some issues with the braided line on some reels, if you use braid, check your line folks!
Portmuck November 2023

Filmed last year, was my last week out trying to get some additional points in the club species hunt. Couldn't find the target specis (cod and congar) but a busy session with lots of small whiting about.

Unlucky on the lost big fish 😢 also is that an orange rod bag or bivvy bag
Dry bags, one for food one for electrical (camera, batteries etc)
@trigstackletravels1839 ahh ok thanks
Good fishing mate well done...Ray maybe on that beach I think 🤔
Don't know mate, might have another crack this weekend.
Pity you lost that one, but good session otherwise
Great video mate 🙌
id recommend going over to the right and down the ledge as that is the deepest mark there. Good mark if you can get a space
That little metal you were using on the coalie shoal, on any of my sucessful lure sessions this year all my fish caught on a 28g metal that looks like what you were using, small and blue/silver in colour.
@roddorman8292 those and metal sand eel lures gave been very successful for me the last few lure sessions. Would love to get something on soft plastics but just can't seem to get anywhere with them.
@trigstackletravels1839 I know, I've been looking for something along those lines too but with no luck also!
Brilliant content. The one that got away 😮 very unlucky bro would have loved to have seen it.
@@WilliiamG it was gutting to be that close, right at my feet when the leader snapped. Must get a net!!!
@trigstackletravels1839 Learn from our mistakes bro is all we can do. That fish will be there for you again, Garron Point, nice spot. 👌
I'd like to see you use soft plastics down there bro. Your content is great the north coast is brilliant for fishing so many spots to fish from. Keep em coming mate. Tight lines.
Good video where you at
was at cayton bay couple of weeks ago, beaches were mobbed so went out on boats
Do us all a big favour please Trig, before you wear shorts again, go and get a wee bit of sun on those legs… I’m almost blinded by the glare!😂
Had some good luck round the Larne area recently mate should giv it a try 👍
@nathan9620 yes had a couple nice results lately too but don't film every session.
Thanks for the video, the East coast dont seem to be fishing well this year so far! Looking forward to you trying Ballycastle or anywhere on the North coast
I feel your pain m8 .I also get eating alive with them we fekers, we usually light a we fire and keeps them away. Will be there in 2 weeks time and hopefully will be gone by then. Jesus, I'm scratching here, lol.. Love watching your channel m8 keep it up ..👍🏻👍🏻 tight lines..
The plural of pollock is "pollock", not "pollocks"
Load of bullocks
Im just a newbiew here in northern ireland, can we fish for free?
yeah sea fishing you don’t need a license but if you are looking to keep some fish you will need a game license for certain fish But you will need licenses if you go to dams or reservoirs
We're do you buy your rags m8
Bait and Tackle Hut in Carrick
Where exactly do I get to this point Derek m8. Can you share a map or how do I get to it ??
Cushendall, rocks to the left of the slipway. Just google Limerick Point Cushendall.
Can you fish the rocks on high tide Derek m8..
@daveharrison9319 yes mate, just check tide height. When fishing any rock mark make sure you check the route in and out to make sure you have an exit if needed.
Looks like redbay
Yes, the rocks to the left of the slipway at Cushendall
Evening Trig, just getting back into fishing, like the videos, hopefully learning something as well.
Appreciate that mate, not sure I know that much to pass on yet!
That's precisely 2 more fish than I got on the evening tide that night!
What lure you using there mate?
Just little metals mate, 35g or so.
Thanks Trig, at least you showed me I didn't miss too much not being out!
Hi, I took bacon to Glenarm beach one night to tip my Sandeel, lost it all to the first dog that walked up the beach, owner didn't even try to stop it! Was going to try Glenarm Tuesday but weather gives strong easterly, so prob not, leave it until direction changes.
Good 2 see you back out mate keep up the videos
Good to see a new vlog dropping!
Thanks, appreciate it :) Really want to get out again but bad back making it hard.
@trigstackletravels1839 yes for sure, lack of fish don't help either. I personally leaving it until Easter.
Enjoyed the video
Great to see another video Trig
Rocks at Ardglass golf club definitely worth a shot. Skate tope Ling and Cod all taken from it last year and a lost Bluefin tuna
Good to see a video from You again derek. Happy new year from myself gordy and grandson layton
Yes neglected it for a while there but plan to be more regular in 2024. Happy New year to you and Layton and hopefully get out fishing with you at some point.
How about trying Downhill, or maybe Ballyhornan? I know they're at opposite ends of the country but might be interesting?
I was in Limerick when it was blowing a gale
Good to see video's from our coastline good job mate 👍
Good job trig mate keep it up good to see someone doing videos from our we country
Was supposed to fish Portmuck last November but never got, will be interesting to see what I missed!!
Fishing in NI kinda sux....I have spent days with nothing but a small wrasse to throw back.
Where is that about Larne please ?
I am used to boat fishing and as you say mackerel bashing in the summer months. I wish you would join us sometime to share your expertise but we don't get out as often now. However I am wanting to start rock or beach fishing myself and I would love to meet up with you somewhere near Larne to have a chat and some advice. I want to get into this more and more so that I can pass my days in retirement doing something that I love. I have always fancied Port Muck from the wee harbour as in the past we have had good fishing from the wee boat around that area. But have noticed as past couple of years the fish are getting fewer from the boat, it must be difficult to catch half decent fish from the shore. Enjoy the vid's that you have made keep em coming
Been out a few times this last month to Glenarm, very poor, couple flounder and an after 8 sized Dab.
Yeah been a tough summer, at least you managed to get out and give it a go though!
Hi trig , how did you catch the lobster? Were you rock pooling?
No mate, bait fishing for pollock and wrasse out at Portmuck off the rocks. Dawn thing took my bait and the hook!
Aww nice catch trig! That's even better than a fish in my mind , that was a nice size by looks of it. Just subscribed to you today , like your videos an all local fishing spots 👍🦞
@stevenclarke406 thanks buddy, appreciate it.
This is a cracking spot over the years got some really good hits,, try these next time you are there TRIGS.. [[[ Fiiish Crazy Sandeel ]]] 25g upwards but keep them moving and they are deadly for the bigger pollack and good bass sometimes are in that area.. Tight Lines
Trig I don’t know if your fishing tomorrow but I’m finally hitting the black arch in the morning I should be there from around 9am until about 3ish if you around and fancy it. I’ll just be spinning and bait fishing.
Is there somewhere to park near the black arch? I’ve been thinking about hitting this spot for a while now and also can you fish high and low tide? Keep the videos coming man 👍👍
Yes mate, if you dont mind a walk theres a layby on the left hand side just as you leave Larne. On the Larne side of the Arch, theres just about room for one car on the path and some folks do park there. After you pass through the Black Arch, theres a house on your left hand side, almost directly opposite is a small water works with a small layby big enough for two cars. It doesnt look much like a layby as theres small wall between it and the path, but its the best place to park IMO.
Giving away all the good local spots trig 😂😂😂 only joking mate keep them coming 👍 🐟🎣
Good man trig thanks I’ll maybe take you up on the offer for a spinning session some time! At this rate it might be next summer with the weather we have been having haha.
Good seeing you at portmuck derek and thank you for the bait
Trig, your better fishing Brownes bay coming up to high, on a dull day or in darlness. Best place ive found is in front of the green caravan/ mobile home, just on the left of the beach. Fishing to the left or right of the little stream. There is a natural gully/ slight drop off about 30m in front of the green caravan, this drop off holds fish when the tide is in. Fish you will catch in this spot are codling, poor cod, pouting, pollack, coalie, flounder, dab, doggies, whitting and the odd sole. Spinning at first light and last light on the left and right ends of the beach can produce sea trout on small lures. The tide must be near in thou. The left end of the beach has big boulders with some kelp, the right end of the beach has a kelp forrest, the sea trout are caught here regularly in summer.
First time I've blanked down there Paul, but thanks for the tips will definitely give them a go and see if the bites pick up!
Trig you will catch the odd flattie or dog daytime, as it is a very shallow beach there isnt much about until dark. At dark o'clock it's a different ball game. Fishing with rag in that spot beside the stream 2hrs before high and 1hr after you will get constant bites and catch plenty. Most of the fish are quite small thou. One other thing, if you get a big on shore wind and the sea is rough with plenty of white water, the bass can show up, it's always worth a punt if your in the area.
Maybe bump into you some day you fish a lot of the same spots I fish haha
Always a chance mate! Thanks for waching!
I like to pierce the skin on the bigger baits with there gripper wire hlp get the scent flowing mate
