    The great thing with Tivoli Friheden is all the events and concerts throughout the year, ranging from the flover festival theme you saw to haloween with haunted houses erc, Christmas with Christmas Markets etc. Many locals but a year pass because in the weekends the back of the restaurant is an outdoor stage that has concerts with quite famous danish names and sometimes even international stars. It costs like 2 visits (like you payed) there for a year pass and card holders even gets discount at restaurants and drinks snd also the pass bracelet for rides. There is also a big indoor venue with larger events like concerts, lectires, plays etc. There would also probably have been some event later there if you stayed that would have made it worth the visit . The tower you saw actually has two rides, they have one that only tskes you up to enjoy the view without the drop. If you have a year pass for the old town you can enter for free as well. You can buy a 1 day pass in the app that works in the entire Aarhus Municipality for 48 the entire day, so you dont have to rush. Tivoli Friheden has some nice restaurants as well. You seemed to miss their street food market area If you love Street food you should have gone to Nicolinehus and Banken as well. I alsoo recommend resturant "Klokken" and "Kohalen" for more, what should I say "high end" danish food without any "new Nordic" . The Street food you brought was traditional "Grandmother's food" what is what is made on a budget by many grandparents.

    I tried one of their products, the retinol cream .3% (pricey) and found that a comparable inexpensive product I had at home worked better. It made a noticeable difference in texture and was pleasant to apply unlike the hard to spread and sticky consistency of the retinol cream by the blue lagoon brand.

    Hi Tina. Always enjoy your running videos. You will do awesome in Surf FM this weekend. Even putting in a 20 miler training on treadmill.😮Have a blast. I am running a HM this weekend also myself. Goal is sub 1:45. Training has been well, we will see how race day goes. Btw, I had a cameo appearance in your 2023 CIM video. Time stamp 21:20. I am the Asian guy in the orange hat, suffering in extreme pain 😂. That was not a good day.

      Thank you for watching! At least running 20 miles on the treadmill allowed me to catch up on some other TH-cam videos I had been meaning to watch 😂 Good luck at the half marathon! You sound ready to chase that 1:45 goal. The half course is a lot more enjoyable to run than the full. I need to go back and check out your cameo in 2023. Hopefully this year, you’ll be feeling much stronger at the finish line!

    I love that spot in Huntington Beach. Instagramer Jeremy Miller hosted a meetup there before the OC Marathon and it was so awesome to meet and run with him. I’m a big fan of the Carlsbad Marathon so I usually skip Surf City. Maybe one of these races I’ll run into you, no pun intended.

      True that spot in Huntington Beach is cool and a great place for a group run. That’s right, Carlsbad is usually around the same time. This year the Disneyland Half is going on at the same time as Surf City. Seems like all the SoCal races are clustered during the cooler months. Hope to run into you at one of these races.

    Not sure if you’ve mentioned this in a previous video friend but I really resonated with your comments about not making our running hobby feel burdensome and not fun. Do you mention this to your running coach when creating your plans? Do you recommend coaches for hobby joggers? How often do you run per week? Thank you for any insight! My mom Toni runs a lot and you remind me a lot of her when watching your travels and running.

    • @Tinatravelsandruns
      @Tinatravelsandruns 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for watching! Yes, it’s important to keep running in perspective and not get too obsessed with chasing a goal to the point that it takes the joy out of running. As for recommending coaches for hobby runners, it depends on what your objectives are. There are a lot of coaching services out there that can help you with a variety of goals whether it is achieving a certain time, running a certain distance, improving general fitness, or motivating you to establish a routine. Some people are totally fine without a coach and others find coaching enhance their performance. You can talk with the prospective coach and come with a plan. I run 4-5 times a week depending on where I am in training for races. Or sometimes I have a break after a big marathon.

    Such a shame you didn't go onto the greenhouses (it's free) or the actual gardens in the botanical garden with so many plants, lakes etc (you only took a short cut though and left before you would enter it) the gardens you saw with Danish nature is being maintained by locals. A shame you didn't go inside the City all, also free and so beautiful. You also missed the main street of the Latin quaters (Mejlgade) with several interesting spots and old merchant houses (oldest Civil houses in Aarhus) The Street Food is just one of several Food courts in the city center, next time check out "Banken" (across the cathedral) and in the summer our Tivoli Friheden amusement park (not to be confused with the Copenhagen Tivoli) with street food.

    • @Tinatravelsandruns
      @Tinatravelsandruns 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’m going to make note of your suggestions if/when I return! Wish we had more time in Aarhus to check out everything. Now I’m kicking myself for not going into the greenhouse because I thought there was an admission. This is awesome how Aarhus has free entry to the gardens and greenhouse We did make a quick visit to Tivoli Friheden when we took the bus to Mosgaard, as featured in another vlog. It brought me back to my childhood of going to local amusement parks that were not Disneyland. I should have kept my eyes open to that food hall nearby because we ended going back to Aarhus Street Food later that day for dinner.

    • @robertoborgen3781
      @robertoborgen3781 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Tinatravelsandruns You also took a turn away from the actual botanical garden and behind the greenhouses instead (also technically a part of the Botanical gardens, but something else) You left just before the greenhouse and the old town area end and the botanical gardens would have begun. Tivoli Friheden has so many events, Concerts, markets etc. Aarhus Street Food is also excellent, but Nicolinehus and banken have their own atmosphere. You should also have checked out Pincho Nation with small dishes 👍 I am a local guide here if you need one 👍

    What if I told you that there are also museums underground 😂 You just missed the "time travel" building after the butcher and cheese store, there is an elevator that takes you underground and you are set in Aarhus (called ARoS back then) in the Viking Age and as you walk through the exhibitions throughout the history of Aarhus until present day. There is also a museum about how they transport and re-ensemble the houses there, as others mention they are the original ones and not rebuilt. I have a year pass and I still discover new things, and just when I believe I have seen it all, another house or exhibition is added. There are also several events and season based festivals out there

    • @Tinatravelsandruns
      @Tinatravelsandruns 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wow, I had no idea there were museums underground! We didn’t allot enough time for Den Gamle By, so we were rushing in the end before the museum closed. I definitely want to go back and see how they transported the original houses. Thanks for all the valuable information!

    • @robertoborgen3781
      @robertoborgen3781 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Tinatravelsandruns The old Town is however not intended to be seen in one day, your head would be "filled up". There are also homes there only open certain time a year, events etc. They also have an occupation museum (war Museum) next to the Cathedral and Gender museum, its the only house at its original place. For the underground museum look up "Aarhus fortæller" or "Aarhus Story" museum. It tells the story of Aarhus from the Viking Age until now. There is also a jewelry museum, a clock museum, a porcelain and earthenware museum and a silverware museum underground. The underground museums are enough for a single day as well 😂

    there are many great things about craftmanship and trades, it's areas we always need in society , there are loads of obs for those with skills, they get educated without having a huge debt (if you live in a country where higher education is not tax funded)they can buy a home and get a family while young and other young people are paying off debt , they cant start their own business quite easily, build on their skills if they want and a lot of them actually earn a lot of money, some trades pay more tan many higher educations , and a lot take a useless education these days

      Thank you for the sub! Unfortunately I will not be running at CIM this weekend. The Big Bear Race was supposed to be my big fall marathon. If you’re running CIM, good luck! Would love to run it again in the future!

    Did you pack for an overnight separate bag just for the layover? Eva air did not release your check in.luggages?

    • @Tinatravelsandruns
      @Tinatravelsandruns 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! I packed an overnight bag as a carry on because I was allowed one checked bag, one carry on bag and one personal item (my backpack). They did not release my checked bag…it was at the airport for the 23 hours and got loaded on the plane back to Los Angeles. My carry on was an overnight bag that contained my pajamas, toiletries and an extra change of clothes for the next day. I’m glad that I packed that overnight bag or else I would have been in the same clothes during my short time in Taipei!

    I started watching your videos and I made a comment before. I was inspired to run my first 5k at the Los Angeles Turkey Trot the past thanksgiving morning. It was great. I hope to run a marathon like you at some point.

    Thank you so much for this amazing video! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?

    Life is dealt with curve balls from time to time. I flew to Toronto to run their annual TCS Waterfront marathon last month, only to sprain my ankle the day before the race. Not only I didn’t get to participate but I have many weeks of recovery. We all need to stay hopeful and positive the best we could.

    • @Tinatravelsandruns
      @Tinatravelsandruns 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry to hear you were injured before the Toronto Waterfront Marathon! Hope you’re recovering well and that you were able to defer to next year’s race.

    I was at the 1:40 pacer mark. It was freezing. After a few miles, we all warmed up. We will do this again in Mt. Charleston and Big Bear next year!

      @Tinatravelsandruns 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cool that you saw yourself in the clip! Oh boy was it cold at the start and I could only imagine how much colder it would have been at the start of the full. We’ll try again at Big Bear next year and good luck with Mt Charleston!

    At the very least, you probably got faster as a result of the half.

    • @Tinatravelsandruns
      @Tinatravelsandruns 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! The half marathon course is much faster than the full course….didn’t have to deal with the rolling hills at higher elevation.

    Great job dealing with race day curveball! I got the text notification around 2:35am when I was already on the road and opted to prioritize CIM and run Revel Big Bear next year.

      Thanks! Totally understandable about putting CIM first and not risking injury close to the race. Good luck next weekend at CIM!

    No one can change plans when Mother Nature decides on something but, ah man, that must be heartbreaking to get up on Race Day morning and learn it’s cancelled. But, looks like you have been keeping an eye on weather and I am guessing that thought might have crossed your mind!! Oh well, fantastic HM finish and congratulations on PR. Running 13.1 at sub 8 min mile is incredible. Good luck for Surf City, I will watching your vlogs for updates.

      Thank you for the kind words! I was hoping that the weather report was wrong but unfortunately it was right about snow the afternoon before. Oh well, better to be safe than sorry when it comes to icy roads. Thanks for following me on my journey.
