    love this series, gonna start on my own soon, any reason you chose not to go with the aluminum cylinders?

      @xpsgarage 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When I ordered the crank and cylinder kit from Cassler we talked mostly about the crank. The type of cylinders never really came up just that he suggested the 94mm. After looking at his price list just now the aluminum cylinders are $1050 a pair so I would have went iron anyway. I'm cheap like that. LOL

    Thankyou! What a great explanation. Question: I plow my snow with the same kind of backblade you have. What position of the draft mode do you recommend? I don't remember what position my lever is in currently. THUMBS UP!!!

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'd just experiment and find out what works best for you. As fast as snow packs in front of the blade and since you have limited traction in the snow, draft mode might not work the best. Depending on the depth of the snow you might have to leave it in position mode and make multiple passes working your way down. If we get any snow this winter in Missouri I definitely plan to find out myself.

    When you put the rubber packing into the throttle shaft hole, did you put a brass retainer cup into the shaft hole to keep the rubber packing in place? Didn't see you mention that. Great info on the governor, and your run through of the carb cleaning was excellent. Not really necessary to remove the three brass jets (economizer, idle, and main) as they can be buggered up easily, as you found out on the idle jet. Good to check for proper diameter hole size on each: Idle jet .032, economizer jet .046, and main jet .052). Well done!

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      With the Ulltracruiser the case is cut for packaging issues. The magneto fits nicely on the back of the engine so you don't have a distributor sticking out of the cowl. If I was putting this on a Legal Eagle or Minimax I would have went full case.

    Is there any reason at all not to just put the resistor in at the BCM? There was an abrupt edit in the beginning where you started to say something about this and then jump-cut to the fuel pump being cut off(?) I have seen a couple videos of people bridging the purple/white & white/black wires at the clip where they connect to the BCM. Also, someone on Corvette Forum recommended I cut those wires leading back to the ignition switch entirely after inserting my resistor at the BCM, so that if for some reason the resistor on the key started working with the sensors in the key tumbler, they wouldn't run in parallel, or cancel each other out, or some damned thing. Any thoughts?

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That was an abrupt edit but I was talking about shorting across the theft relay to get it to crank but if the VATS was still unhappy it would shut off fuel. I mentioned putting the resistor at the BCM at 12:30. That is an excellent place to put it if you want and definitely do cut the wires going back to the key. I'm not sure what the wire colors are but I would make sure to look at a wiring schematic before doing it.

    Great video and info. In my case, i bought a new pump cover for a 05 Trailblazer with LL8 engine in mind and the one I received was for an LS version. The covers are not same. Pretty much, the 05 LL8 4l60e cover is an old model front cover with the good stuff of the new cover (TCC valve, springs, etc) that was being engineered for the speed sensor. I just wanted to throw that there because those 05 covers for the LS come with stator and sleeve for speed sensor but not drilled and have the notch in the boost valve. For anyone repairing a 05 trailblazer or Saab SUV of same year with the LL8 engine, it takes the old 300mm input shaft as you mention on your vid. Thanks for the info. Ignore the tech trolls 😂.
