Amazing video! I have the Leadr and it’s double clicking. Do you know if you can use optical switches with these mice?

Good video and I tried this, but its a nightmare to fix. The little plate is very hard to reset and it doesn't want to lock in place, so you'll spend hours trying to luck-it while trying not to lose it when it springs across your desk. Trust me, just spend $50 and buy a new one.

@kenvler , unexperienced solder user here and I have problems de soldering that. Any tips and what temp did you used on the solder gun. After some time I managed to do it and thanks for the tip @andyhuwe8462 it helped a lot.

Warning - the switch cover has a little piece of white plastic that goes through the hole. When I took off the cover, I lost that little piece right away and never found it. Need to order a switch now

This is a great video. Now the biggest problem will be with the drivers. The Tyon / Leadr is a very unique ergonomic mouse, and I doubt Turtle Beach will be interested in keeping up support.

So much time for the "box". I get it! You bought the pen so you could have the box! 🤷🙄. The box is definitely more important after all! 🙄🤷..... 5 minutes and 23 seconds just to find out you don't know how to write.

I have two of these mouses...mice? Anyway, both started having the double click issue, however, the black one I have is kind of different. It had one more screw holding it together, hidden under the black part of the sticker, around the bar code. I ended up breaking that mount. Got to replacing the switches with ones I purchased from Amazon. The package from amazon contained a bunch of different part numbers, but they all looked the same. The ones I used worked, however, one of the soldering points doesn't go all the way through as in the video. Had to cut the stem, and hope for the best. Left click replaced, works great. Well, the left click started double clicking today, which is what motivated me to do the repair. The left click switch looks the same, but replacing it did not work. The left click is now inop. I'm keeping it for parts I guess. The other Tyon had a double click issue, that's why it was shelved. This mouse was just like the one in the video, and was easy to repair, however, I did not replace the left click, as it has no issues. Your video did help me a lot. Just wish it had covered the version of the mouse I have. Or had.

Dont recommend anyone doing this. After doing this and reassembling everything my mouse doesnt even make a real click sound anymore and it feels very off.

I had this crap! It has poor capacity ca.3500mah. My unit almost exploded after 3 months!

I have the same problem on my nyth too. For now i'll stick with bending, but I think I try out this new switch too. Hopefully it'll work out

throw away that shit and never buy it again. i was a fan of roccat until they get bought by turtle bullshit. since then u can buy it and throw it into a trashcan. thats the best way to get over that shit. three mices in 2 years all the same problem.

Disregard what this guy says and avoid the "easier method". Soldering is WAY easier than that horrible finnicky copper switch. Took me an hour to get one put back on. Zero points for second half of video - basically "replace faulty part" (no shit) You should have stated how difficult the fix is i wish i didnt stumble upon this video tbh

Thank you very much for putting this video together. I am a long-time Tyon fan, especially since as a disabled gamer--the Tyon has been everything and more I could want in a mouse. So when Roccat killed production and told me there were no plans to bring it back, I was CRUSHED. Now my Tyon has started to do the "double click of death" and since there are no more Tyon's out there, I was freaking out. I've never opened a mouse up and try repairing it before, so I'm super nervous. But your how-to video really helps a lot. My Tyon is like an old hot rod I can't give up--got to get your hands dirty under the hood and try your best to keep it going, haha.

I love this mouse and it's so good for my daily work. Mine is broken for almost 3 years, but it was not a big deal, one of it's buttons is a bit loose. A few months ago it started double clicking as well so now is the time to disassemble and get everything fixed. Thank you for this awesome guide, you really helped me a lot. :)

Note that the IMX335 sensor used in SJ8 Dual Screen has 5MP resolution, when the IMX367 used in SJ8 Pro has 12MP resolution.

I have bought quite a lot on AliExpress, and my experience is that Chinese brands rarely are worth the money. Often the lower capacities like 16GB and 32GB might be real but the higher capacities are fake. I recognize several of the low-performing cards in your test from this category. But even if they are real, they are usually of low quality, either low performance or they might fail straight away or later so they should not be trusted for serious use. Cards made in Taiwan, like the one you preferred, are usually better, if that label is true. I see tendencies that the chance of finding properly working Chinese cards is increasing, and I find some that might be ok, but it still seems to be quite a gamble. I have very good experience with Lexar cards which often are priced quite low. At the moment a 32GB can be had for $1.99 when bought in a bundle of 3 or more items. I usually go for larger cards. Sometimes SanDisk or Samsung can be had for about the same price for larger sizes. Kodak is also in the same price category as Lexar, $2.99 in a 3 or more item bundle for a 64GB card. All brand name cards I have bought have been real, but I have experienced that one seller never sent the cards but instead gave me a tracking number for a different shipment going to my country to make it seem it was sent. And if there are issues it can be very difficult to get your money back, if you even succeed... So the bottom line is that you can save some money buying On AliExpress, but unless you are prepared to do the testing and know how to prove fakes in a convincing way you may lose your money. So don't buy such items unless you know what you are doing. Too many sellers are just crooks and AliExpress too often supports them and put all the burden of evidence on the buyer even if it is very clear that the item is not as described. The buyer protection is very good in theory, but in reality, it is often very far from it.

Thanks for the video, i wasn't careful and snapped the metal piece. I've been using this mouse for 8 years and unfortunately Roccat has discontinued this. I have ordered the D2FC-F-7N(20M) from ebay, i gotta learn how to solder when it arrives :)

besides all respect, soldering isnt youre fav job, huh? io grew up in the 1970`s and my father who was engeneer did never do anything with the soldering iron befor putting new soldering iron on it, you then can melt the old iron much faster completely and better remove the whole material in one use of the pump, same with soldering a new connection, put new iron on the soldering iron, then melt and heat! thats the important part both, the connection and the new connector and weld all together, other wise you get a cold connection, ty for listening
